Changing the rather small ceramic disc capacitors in the matching section to home made PTFE coax cable capacitors, which should improve it's high power rating
Sorry I didn't measure them, I just cut the ptfe coax length to get the best match, stray capacitance to the matching coil was affecting the original design
@@ptronix thanks for the reply. I need to do this myself as mine is poorly. Cant find the correct value caps anywhere with high enough voltage rating so I might try the coax method. Cheers
I have the Diamond X50 it gets smoked by a Workman UV-325.. sent it back to them 2 times to try to fix it. the SWR was fine it's just a deaf dummy load...
by changing the ratio of the capacitive divider you lost 10dB in return loss........ you could have wound the coaxial capacitors around under the coil and avoided a lot of hassle.
It's the siglent ssa3021x, excellent value for money. I had to pay extra for the tracking generator option. I think that's now included at no extra cost
Would Be SUper Cool if You Could Mnake Similar Video Showing The ANtenna Coils And Capacitors, BUT EXPLAINING WHAT THEY DO And How They Work, That Video Would Be One Of A Kind On RUclips.. Tell A Thing From A To Z About The ANtenna Like You Are Talking With Kindergardeners, That Video Would BLOW UP LIKE You Wouldn Believe,
It's a nice idea, but one problem I don't know what they do! Other than the fact that they are involved in the matching process to 50 ohm. I understand simple antenna theory like how a J pole works as an end fed half wave and how you match it. But this is somewhat more complicated especially as its a two band antenna. Also I don't want to take it down and apart again. Its been happily working for several years now and that's where it will stay unless it went faulty. Thanks for watching.

Very good idea, Great work
Kudos Nick, Really enjoyed the video !
Thanks Paul, it's still working well after about 3 years now
Great video Nick, more like this. M7AJR
Thanks, what were the final capacitances in the end? I'm assuming you strayed slightly from the original 7.5 and 2.5pf?

Never had one of those, but I've found the x 510 an excellent antenna never a problem with it although a bit long for some people maybe

Hi! What is your spectre analyser? Thanks
It's the siglent ssa3021x, excellent value for money. I had to pay extra for the tracking generator option. I think that's now included at no extra cost
Can you tell me the make and type of your spectrum analyzer please? It looks very good! thanks
@@ptronix Thank you, this will be my birthday present. Good day for you 73's

It’s a DUAL Band since a DUEL is usually a Gun Fight.😂🤣
What do you expect from me, I'm virtually illiterate and getting worse the further I get from being at school!
@@ptronix I have been out of school since 1978 and I’m not using that excuse?😳

My answer would be: learn English, like millions of others around the world... 😟
