    The specified service interval for the belt is 60,000 miles OR 4 years.
    💡 Top tip: I recommend you inspect the belt each time you change the engine oil and replace the belt if there are any signs of splitting or cracking irrespective of mileage.

    Hey Cyclone Cyd, omg wish you had released this video a week ago... my serpentine belt snapped while driving up the suffolk coast around 4pm, RAC tried to fit a belt he had in the back of his van but could not release the tensioner to do so... ended up being towed back to essex and forking out £100 for a local garage to fit it... just my luck... never mind... thanks again for all your videos, they are always informative and straight to the point... keep the Saabath dream alive..

    Cyd I have asked you on Pcv valve video, you didnt see my question, so I will ask you again here...
    On some forums people say that it is safe to block inlet pcv hole( saab, cobalt forums), it stops oil getting in manifold and loosing oil and boost... Adding oil catch can on turbo side baffle helps too. Do you think it is safe to do that?

    • @CycloneCyd
      @CycloneCyd  2 года назад +3

      Sorry I didn't see it, but here goes:
      In my opinion? NO NO NO don't do it.
      A powertrain Engineer could write an essay the length of War & Peace, but I will make one point only: There will be NO through flow in the crankcase. Blow-by fumes will only escape by being forced out. You will end up with excessive combustion product and unburnt fuel in your sump oil, so the oil will not last as long and if not changed very frequently will eventually lead to various failures due to contamination or lack of lubricity.

      No. First fit a new PCV valve (ruclips.net/video/ro0CN6SdD5s/видео.html), then tighten down all the screws holding the cam cover (10mm socket), bet ya some are loose.

    It is not a 3/8 for the tensioner pully its a 1/4.Sadly you had my son under misinformation and messed up his tensioner. You need to know what your talking about before spreading fraudulent information. Saabs are hard enough to work on let alone you given bad info.

    • @akahan1
      @akahan1 22 дня назад

      It's 3/8. Which, by the way, is BIGGER than 1/4, so there would be no way for your son to mess up his tensioner if the tensioner were 1/4, because he wouldn't even be able to get a 3/8 into the hole to round it off. Sounds like your son tried to use a 1/4 tool in the 3/8 and rounded it, not the other way around.
