I would recommend measuring your dogs neck before you cut the fabric. If you want to make a tie on bandana, add about 5-7 inches, maybe a few more inches.
Thanks for a fantastic tutorial and product! I'll be meeting my first "grandchild", a 5 month old Boxer, in 2 weeks. Since he will be here for Christmas and I don't know his exact size, I believe this will work well as I can add extra snaps to make it adjustable. I'm Excited!!
Thank you! These look so much better than the white flipping back & not being able to see the pattern. One of our groomers seems to barely tie it on& it rolls up where I can’t see the pattern
Thank you Lorrie for your video! I learned a handful of things here. I found not only how to finally use my cans snap setter correctly, I can make the bandannas I’ve been wanting to make for the dogs, I can dust off my press, the Cricut, and my sewing machine. 😉
Thank you .... great video, so helpful. I'm making some for pressies this Christmas. I'm very pleased to see an option that is not a tie on bandana, as I'm not comfortable with those either ... not safe. Thanks again. :)
I too worry about collars getting caught. However, here in UK, it is the law that dogs have collars with a disc giving information such as the dog's name, owners contact details etc. when they are out of the house. Microchips are law as well. Love the bandanas though I couldn't put one on my dog as she is my hearing dog and wears a uniform when she is out. Perhaps indoors or in the park where she is not in her uniform. I will make one and see though at this time of year it would get very muddy! I'll definitely make one for my daughter's little dog who would look so cute! Thank you for this idea. I love those snaps. Pres studs are such a pain to sew on!
Fun & Fast project. If you are using HTV and a cutting machine for names you can actually add it once done with sewing, since you don't have to worry about Stabilizer. Thank you for this Snap idea too. :)
Debbie Ayres yes that’s true but for the sake of the video I showed it before assembly so that if you made a mistake with the iron on you didn’t waste your time sewing it all together. Either way will work fine as long as you keep your press off of the seams/edges of you do it as the last step
thanks for another sweet little project! You’ve gotten so many into sewing I’m wondering if you’d do a machine set up walk through video? Like, how to thread machine or load bobbins etc? At times just getting started is the hardest part!
Hi Lori, I've been following you for years and love your videos. I wonder if you have ever made the dog bandanas with the scrunchie elastic instead of the over the collar. I'm looking for a good pattern (sizing) for them.
HI I would love to make one of these for a little puppy her collar measurement is 12" so what size square shall I cut out. Im a complete beginner. Loved watching your video. its lovely and looks nice and easy to make. Look forward to hearing from you. Jo and Rosie
Lorrie. First thank you for how you beautifully explain the “not so intuitive” Design Space! I cannot figure out how to cut entire words and not their individual letters. For example, planner stickers sometimes have groups of words together like “slay the day, you go girl.” The words are in a shape, not a square or a round circle but appears to be a letter like shape around the outline of the words. Any tips?
I wish you would share the unfortunate circumstance you had so I can understand why you use the snaps vs other methods. Only trying to educate myself.:) thanks for the video !
My dogs were wrestling and one dog got his jaw under the other dog’s collar and she twisted and we couldn’t get the collar off because it was so tight. She almost suffocated. The other dogs jaw was getting twisted both dogs were panicking and trying to get unlocked. Luckily we finally were able to release the collar but it was a close call and very scary.
Ros M Velcro would work as a fastener. As far as the safety of releasing I suppose that would depend on the quality of the Velcro. I can’t speak for the safety of anything really. I feel. Safe with the snaps but that is just my opinion. For me, they release easily
Lorrie you have done it again.....you have shown me how to make something that is useful to me and easy enough for me to make. You have no idea how much your videos mean to me. THANK YOU :) Hugs...Janie (Cricut Explore owner that needs a Cricut Maker to make cutting patterns for your sewing projects easier....thank you) #ultimateMAKERgiveaway
Cathy Todd I have a maker and would love to give this to my daughter whose been through hell this last year with her family’s health, her husband can’t work so this would be a big stress reliever for her that she could not afford. #ultimateMAKER giveaway.
I have cricut mats, weeding tools, and cricut irons and transfer vinyl, but no cricut at the moment. Only a hand me down silhouette cameo. #ultimatemakergiveaway
#UltimateMAKERgiveaway, Hi Lorrie, thank you for this awesome video. I can’t wait to make a bunch for all my granddoggers. I currently have an Explore Air 2 and a Maker, but I’d love to gift one to my daughter. Thanks for the opportunity to do that for her.

18” square is what she said for her dog. That’s what my groomer also says for my baby
Thank you for the help!

Great video! I was just gifted a sewing machine and can’t wait to try this. Seems like the perfect beginner project.
I too had an incident with a dog collar I now would use Velcro or quick release buckle. Just different options.
Made this for my poopy tonight, she looks so pretty in it! Thank you 🙏🏼 merry Christmas
Thanks for sharing how to make a really nice Doggy Bandana!
Your dogs are beautiful.

What a great project. I am going to have to take some time to figure out how big to make my tiny pomeranian's bandana though 😂 thank yiu!

Wrigley sits so pretty though. I love this ❤️
Airbnb give aways. I love this idea and I get to make them!!!
Do you need to add some stability under the area where the snaps will be placed?
Just wonder the snaps would come off with usage.
made this on my new machine (Bernette b77) and it was so easy to make... thanks for sharing your ideas with us
great idea with the snaps for easy application.

I need the same thing. I received a sewing machine for Christmas in 2017 and it’s still in the box.
Thank you Lorrie for another great video tutorial.
What measurements do you recommend for small, medium and large
Thank you for sharing... I’m definitely going to try some today.
How do you made name stickers ?
I really want to know~please teach me🙏🏼thank you ~~~

Love it ,beautiful project ! 🦮
I don't like to put collars on my kids too. This is a great idea. I'm already making them. My kids- 1 lab, 1 Maltese and a kitten 😁
Love these bandanas. I do not like tying the bandanas around the dog’s neck. This looks safer. Thank you.
Great project! I have a bunch of doggie fabric perfect for this. 💕
How cute are these!!
Cute doggies❤️❤️❤️Fun project
Aww they are so cute and it is a very easy project to do
Several great tips
They are adorable!!! Take care. ~Barbara
Hi...loved the bandana's they are soo cute...could you please tell which material you used for them?
Hi Lori, I've been following you for years and love your videos. I wonder if you have ever made the dog bandanas with the scrunchie elastic instead of the over the collar. I'm looking for a good pattern (sizing) for them.
Thank you!

Very cute. Now if I could only find a dog I can afford. Looking for a mini Schnauzer to fill the hole in my heart.
Hi! Is there a certain fabric you recommend for this? Was thinking a knit fabric.
What size do I need for a 7 pound yorkie?
Too cute

what is the snap kit name and where can I buy it...that you are using in this video
Great video! So easy to follow and very informative!:)

Do you think I could use a iron?

what type of fabric do you used in bandanas?

I don’t own a circuit machine nor do I embroider. Does anyone know how I can get names ordered from a vendor to apply to these scarfs?
Video how to cut them?
Cute! Is it okay to replace the tag with a clip on button?

Would you use Velcro
What kind of material and can I find at joanns
Some places only use half the bandana and not sewn together.
I wish you would share the unfortunate circumstance you had so I can understand why you use the snaps vs other methods. Only trying to educate myself.:) thanks for the video !

So cute! Love the idea! How is your room makeover going?
What font is Brinkley?
Can you safely use velcro instead ofthe snaps? I just do not sew enough to warrant the snap kit.
Ros M Velcro would work as a fastener. As far as the safety of releasing I suppose that would depend on the quality of the Velcro. I can’t speak for the safety of anything really. I feel. Safe with the snaps but that is just my opinion. For me, they release easily
How did you print the name?
Hi lori, these are awesome! Cute dogs! Is it possible to use the crop-a-dile with those clips? Thx so much
