    Excellent video. Part two was every bit as good as Part 1. Brought back so many happy memories of when I did the WHW in May 2019. It also rained on my last 2 days!

    Hey there Seb! So sorry for the ridiculously late comment. I had to pretty much stop watching RUclips hiking vids in lockdown as it was making me depressed seeing what I wasn't able to do. But then I didn't get a notification for your vids here either 😕 seems to happen quite a lot these days.
    A wonderful couple of videos, some of your best yet I think. I completely agree with you about walking in October, it's an incredible time of the year to hike - the colours especially. So glad you were able to get out and do the WHW again, it's a great trail. I'd been hoping to do it again in January but, for obvious reasons, that didn't pan out. Maybe next year...?
    Thanks so much for the plug in your description as well, really nice of you.
    Hope life is treating you good, my friend, look forward to more videos soon.
    All the very best, Seb - Dan 🤠👍🏻

      Hey Dan. Thanks for stopping by. I watch less lately, too. Not because of depressing impact but I'm just busy with other stuff. I'm glad you liked this style of filming because I like it, too and will be filming in this manner in the future. Took me a while to admit that I'm not a story teller and realise all I can do is to show views. 😁 Good see you and hope you're doing well. Take care, Dan. And thanks again for kind words.

    The October colours are just wonderful. Rannoch Moor isn't any less bleak in the sunshine, and the hills have so much drama with the cloud on them. Would be interested to see what you think of the new Kingshouse Hotel building? Your last few photos are stunning!

    • @3WalkingPoles
      @3WalkingPoles  4 года назад

      You're absolutely right. I did not know how camera captures the views and was afraid that it will be much worse than it came out. I'm happy even with rainy shots.
      Kingshouse... well it doesn't have the old vibe but because it was my first time near the building I walked around and looked at it from the distance... It's not aggressive and considering that it's a modern building it's quite well composed into the landscape. I've seen drama in social media back when it was under construction but I never could fully agree with the arguments against it.
      Thanks for your all kind words.
      Cheers, Seb

      @@3WalkingPoles I hiked about in May 2018, when they were starting to rebuild it. The old entrance was still there, behind it they had a steel construction, guess to attach the wall to. When I passed it in May 2019 to get to Fort William by bus, I could only see the roof behind the trees from the street.

    Thanks for taking us along with you. These two videos were wonderful. We can’t wait for our hike in October! I wonder how much extra walking you figure you did to place the camera, walk away from it, and go back for it in all this shots? Beautiful!!

      Thank you, Lou. I think filming adds about an hour extra, but it's also great excuse for mini breaks so I don't mind.

    Love it, these videos are so soothing to watch, and at the same time give me PTSD 😅 looks like you had some excellent weather. Wish the sky had been that blue for me!
    We camped in the same place on Rannoch Moor, nice little spot there.

      Thanks, Matt. The weather is a benefit of being (fairly) local and I just waited for weather window.
      The place on Rannoch Moor - I have mixed fillings - although the spot itself is perfect I think it's a victim of own popularity.
      Thanks for watching!

    Thank you for posting this and waned to say I'm always impressed how people can do the walk but also film in such a professional manner. I have just also finished it starting midday on the 21/10/20 so a week behind you. Your weather seemed kinder but I loved it how it is was and wouldn't have changed a thing. Started off solo but buddied up with another hiker and glad I did. Thanks again, Matt

      Thank you very much! You made me smile because I'm everything but professional, but my ego feels satisfied after your comment. Hehe... ;) You weren't a week behind but just 2 days - I finished on Monday 19th Oct, so we almost met. As much as I like solitude on the trail I agree that good company can make a difference. It's great you had you had good time on the WHW - good memories - that's what it is all about.
      Take care!

    I want to repeat myself again - great video! I hiked WHW a year ago as well - did it in 8 days. This is a great reminder of what I was experiencing in September 2020. It was challenging but at the same time very rewarding. I have one more question for you Sebastian. Which hike was more challenging for you? WHW, or the hike in Iceland at Landmannalaugar down south? I know that the distance of WHW is way longer. But what about the terrain and about hiking the hills? What about the quality of paths, etc. Do you see one more challenging than the other, or are they almost the same (I mean physical challenge here)? Let's ignore the weather for the moment because it could be different or very similar on both walks. Thanks for taking the time to create such brilliant videos!

    • @3WalkingPoles
      @3WalkingPoles  3 года назад +1

      Hi Edvardas. The Laugavegur is easier for walking - not very demanding, shorter but for me, it was a new environment, I didn't know what to expect so there was some additional nervousness around that. But it went away quite quickly and was replaced with the excitement of new things experienced on the trail. The hills are nothing to worry about, paths... well what paths? :))) There are signposts and some tracks on the volcanic sand through the majority of the trail - but it's easy to navigate and you have to make an effort to get lost. In my opinion, is much less physically challenging than the WHW.
      One more thing: if the weather is bad, plan your camps around the huts.

    Another great video thanks again. Quick question, what were you wearing? Some kind of rain coat / rain skirt thing. Looked a really useful and light piece of equipment.

    • @3WalkingPoles
      @3WalkingPoles  4 года назад

      Thank you. I'm happy you liked it, Ben.
      What am I wearing? Well, don't laugh but they call it "rain kilt". It is very light (80 g) piece of silicon impregnated nylon and I love it. I have rain trousers but I'm always sweaty wearing them, so what's the point? With kilt I have protection against water from any direction and coming from my coat. It provides additional protection against wind (it's warmer) but doesn't compromise breathability and ventilation. It's not for everybody but works for me.

      @@3WalkingPoles Stefan thanks for speedy reply. I've had similar problems and see rain kilt about on the web but though "nah...". But I am now getting one. If you are happy with yours would you mind saying what type it is and where you got it?

    In your videos are no other people. Did you avoid filming them or simply there were no other folks around? When you hike the WHW in May there are shiploads of hikers around. Great weather by the way, what date did you start your hike?

    • @3WalkingPoles
      @3WalkingPoles  4 года назад

      I tried not to film other people but there weren't many of them. When I'm thinking now how many I met... During first 3 days - 2 (two), later I started catching up with those who started earlier and met other 6. So, not very busy. And I started on 14th October.
