Almost 2024 and I'm still here listening to great songs by Julia, Nick and Olive In these very difficult times, 'there's a light on in the lighthouse, you can see it in the dark' is a great line to remind us to not lose hope or give up.
I'm 60 shortly & this takes me back to the self awareness awakened in me at 22 (1980) a time of such personal change it shaped who I am today. A beautiful experience, thank you!
I love you beautiful woman 💛💛 i hope you’re doing well and happy, your music taste is awesome and we can clearly understand it your music taste is amazing when your youth 🧡 loves from turkey!
When I first listened to this song at 16 the lyrics soothed me in a time I wasn't doing so well. I just turned 22 and can see how different my life is now so this comment really resonates with me!
It's interesting that I'm banging on 64 but love Suflower Bean they seem to resonate with older people and connect its good as many people my age think all the good music was in the past so wrong ! Xxxx
Lyrics: Independent, that's how you view yourself Now that you're twentytwo, twentytwo If I could do it, I would stay young for you We could live inside a place Where we'd never have to face All the people who disgrace us And make us hide our face Busted and used, that's how you view your girl Now that she's twentytwo, twentytwo If I could do it, I would stay young for you We could live inside a place Where we'd never have to face All the people who disgrace us And make us hide our face If I could do it, I would fly into the sun I would become warm And I meant it when I said you're my favourite son With your finger that is reaching For the trigger of the gun And you know you've got to prove it To yourself and everyone I do not go quietly Into the night that calls me Even when I'm alone I do not go quietly Into the night that calls me Even when I'm alone If I could do it, I would take her in my arms I would unwrong all his wrongs I could stay here and write a thousand songs Just to show her that the stars Still come out behind the fog There's a light on in the lighthouse You can see it in the dark I do not go quietly Into the night that calls me Even when I'm alone I do not go quietly Into the night that calls me Even when I'm alone I do not go quietly Into the night that calls me Even when I'm alone I do not go quietly Into the night that calls me Even when I'm alone
I remember seeing them at a dingy club like 2 years ago as an opening band and thought they were the best on the bill, but even then I couldn't have foreseen them blowing up like this. Love the new direction these guys have been taking in recent years and the music video is absolutely spot-on.
I love the unfiltered and not overproduced sound of their music. That reason alone is practically a good enough reason to listen, but yet there are many more reasons than that! Can’t wait to see them play live some day.
So i wake up at 03-30. Get ready for work, make a quick brew, sit down and switch on the tv and this beautiful voice fills my eardrums. It sounds so effortless. Like a siren beckoning me onto the rocks. So here i am shipwrecked but what a voice !!
i was 22 when this song came out. i remember it encapsulated the feeling of being 22 so strongly. it was a distinct year of feeling that i was crossing over a threshold into adulthood and leaving my youth behind. Of course when I look back now, 22 feels so young. i'm trying not to go quietly.
This is what I like! A new indie making making its way through the music business. The song is great and I really want to get this new album as well :)

This is quite frankly the best song I’ve heard in years. A true gem amidst the mud.
What a song. And that voice. It makes winter feel like spring.
Like this song a lot. Really catchy. They play it in the bookstore where I work.
I always come back to this album - it just does NOT get boring. Definitely one of THE defining albums from the 2010s for me and my life.
2020s still listen to this 👍
When I hear her voice, i feel safe again.
Ahh, when you 'know' that safe feeling, there IS no replacement, NO substitute
I came here when I need someone to confort me. God knows how much this song means to me
It's interesting that I'm banging on 64 but love Suflower Bean they seem to resonate with older people and connect its good as many people my age think all the good music was in the past so wrong ! Xxxx
I must have listened to this song at least a hundred times in the last twenty four hours. Insane.
Her voice is so soothing!

Omg her voice is heavenly
I moved from a small town in Georgia to downtown Philly completely alone two days before I turned 22. This song is my anthem for the year.
Lyrics:
Independent, that's how you view yourself
Now that you're twentytwo, twentytwo
If I could do it, I would stay young for you
We could live inside a place
Where we'd never have to face
All the people who disgrace us
And make us hide our face
Busted and used, that's how you view your girl
Now that she's twentytwo, twentytwo
If I could do it, I would stay young for you
We could live inside a place
Where we'd never have to face
All the people who disgrace us
And make us hide our face
If I could do it, I would fly into the sun
I would become warm
And I meant it when I said you're my favourite son
With your finger that is reaching
For the trigger of the gun
And you know you've got to prove it
To yourself and everyone
I do not go quietly
Into the night that calls me
Even when I'm alone
I do not go quietly
Into the night that calls me
Even when I'm alone
If I could do it, I would take her in my arms
I would unwrong all his wrongs
I could stay here and write a thousand songs
Just to show her that the stars
Still come out behind the fog
There's a light on in the lighthouse
You can see it in the dark
I do not go quietly
Into the night that calls me
Even when I'm alone
I do not go quietly
Into the night that calls me
Even when I'm alone
I do not go quietly
Into the night that calls me
Even when I'm alone
I do not go quietly
Into the night that calls me
Even when I'm alone
I heard this in a clothes store and instantly fell in love with the song. All hail Shazzam for helping me find this art again!!

Great song. And Julia just has incredible charisma and a gorgeous voice. Loving the Beans.

I did see them when their first CD came out. They rocked the joint really good. Even better, their CDs have NO autotune. They're the real deal, folks.
What an amazing song!
It gives me them nostalgia feelings, such a retro sounds, such lyrics...boy, they really need more recongnition!
YES. This reminds me of like a squeal to Dancing Queen or something.

Love her ❤️😍😍😍❤️❤️ gorgeous
A 90's alternative vibe. Very New Bohemians, Frente or The Sundays. In a good way, of course.
