Sunflower Bean has quickly become a favorite of mine. I'm a geezer and only discovered them a few months ago. I love their song crafting skills. Sparse yet full, often jangley guitar layers applied with genius open string work and harmonies. I also totally love the understated drumming; Always keeps it about the song. The beat for, "Easier Said Than Done," is so easy to suck at, as so many bands have discovered. SB'ns version is my favorite by far. Excellent Bass playing with surprises and risk. Fantastic singing all around. Excellent phrasing and it's refreshing to hear Musicians reach so forward! Such a great aesthetic with their varied range of videos. One moment it's a mad hybrid Fellini film or theater of the absurd and then, at some point, there's transparency, just enough to keep it playful and human, maybe not take themselves too-too seriously... And then more Fellini... Plus, they're already seasoned performers. I hope they win at everything.

This band creates tight pop songs for hits and the deeper album cuts give their fans something to really sink their teeth into. What a great formula! They are forthright and honest in the interview. They would be fun to see live and also seem like they would be cool to hang with, which is not always the case.
Great band, lovely people in it, and awesome songwriting and playing. Love this band.

Really great conversation with the band, thanks for sharing!
They have exceptional musicianship/musicality, and they bring it live. 22 in Blue is my favorite LP, and HOS is great as well
