Beautiful song and beautifully danced by pan's people, lovely ladies.
Originals stand the test of time. ❤ Pans People
Dee Dee said that this routine was her and Ruth's favourite from their time dancing.
it's one of mine.
May the internet never die so this will forever be out there for many generations to enjoy.
Well said.
Yes, one of the (very) good things about the internet .
TOTP and Pans People were the highlight of the week back then!
is this the real dee dee?
Right! I remember it well.
My grandmother's favourite record played until it wore out then ordered a replacement. Born in the 1920s, I'm now older than she was and this song reminds me of her
I hope George had a chance to see pans dancers do justice to his song. This was choreographed so beautifully in such an incredible tribute Class Act all the way around. So far removed from the Satanic and demonic music industry of modern day. Wish I could go back in time and just stay in this era forever.
🎉
George Harrison..."his" song ???!!...
As known, not quite.
He "borrowed" some parts from the Chiffon's HE IS SO FINE...
George was doing cocaine. The devil's music.
@@eparg8059 really was twaddle. Bands nicked ideas & riffs etc from other bands. In the 60s loads of bands composers borrowed plenty from the Beatles & they never cried about it, in fact they were flattered. It was a cheap shot by the Chiffons composer(s).
It was the songs publishers who sued, the publishing rights then ended up ironically with Alein Klien
When I just want to get lost in nostalgia and relish in sensory overload ❤
Ruth, stunning, gorgeous. RIP darling.
She was never your darling.
@@paulmanly3694 No but she was Martin Shaw's darling yep him from the professionals..
He dated her for a while.
But dumped her as she was a heavy smoker
@@djsimonrossprice9400It’s sad how many pretty women ruined it by smoking. Many celebrities and dancers smoked not because they liked it, but because it sometimes dulled the sense of taste and felt it helped them retain their figures. 😢
Proud to be British such quality
This song and these girls just fantastic...
Gorgeous Natural Girls, those days have gone classy ladies❤️❤️
If I'd had a hit in the 70s I'd have loved to see Pans People dancing to it because they always did justice to the great records they danced to and what about the young women around Tony Blackburn, so naturally pretty. Happy days.
Absolutely brilliant and so beautiful and innocent ,ahh wonderful times, god bless everyone and everybody, no matter your colour creed faith ,love peace and goodwill, to all and everything🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Beautiful song and danced by beautiful people. Well done girls ..I hope you enjoy watching this as much as I do.
Beautiful song from a beautiful guy.
Hard to believe four of those girls are no longer with us.
This is 52 years ago......sadly time waits for no one

Great girls and a great track what not to like 😊
Oh I loved pans people . They were great and still are . Love watching their videos . Take me back to the seventies . Great stuff . Well done girls . X Maureen from Newcastle .
Spot on there.
Yes I agree with you 100 per cent
THE best hymn surely.
Great year for music, 1971.
1970 in fact - this is from the album All Things Must Pass.
Great! Great song and Great dancing! I was in Switzerland when I first heard this song
Great to see the original line up
Yes. This Yank is new to Pan's People, but my overall favorite has been Andi Rutherford after seeing my first PP where they danced to CCR's "Green River" (even though it was only a rehearsal).
My favorite song ❤
Beautiful dancing to a challenging rhythm. Love the expressiveness of this and the lovely dresses. Yes, it works.
Absolutely right. A really good record [there's an old term] and one of the best, if not the best, popular dance troupes. Such an attractive troupe, superb choreography which must have been hard to design and execute in the short timescales available. So good to watch and enjoy.
Que deleite, un verdadero agasajo visual..
Que coreografía más hermosa, adorables todas 😍😍😍😍😍
Sim, tudo lindo e as roupas!!?? 👏👏❤🖤🤍
Lovely ❤
I love Pans People
This attests to that Flick was still dancing with the troupe in 1971, before withdrawing from dance to focus on her choreography duties.
This works, classic song and a dance full of grace! :)
George was a brill song writer and singer and guitarist- thanks
❤
I never heard of Pan's People until I looked up You Little Trustmaker and saw their dance routine in the sidebar and clicked on it. Even though I lived through the entire time of their popularity, somehow I missed them completely. They certainly were great. Some of them aren't even alive anymore.
We know some of them are not alive anymore and you were probably the last one to find out about that as well.
@@redblade8160 that's a pathetic response. Some people are just finding out about Pans People. That's what it means by being loved for generations to come. Not to just those who originally saw them when they were first out.
Yeah they're amazing. I only learned of them about 4 years ago. I was in the states and was a toddler during their time so like you I knew nothing of them. What's crazy is I got infatuated with all the videos and dancers I quickly leaned their history and so on. I even took a chance and wrote Dee Dee Wilde to let her know how much i enjoy their videos and dance routines. I NEVER thought she'd even get my letters but sure enough she did and we corresponded for a little while. I was able to get a signed copy of Pans People Our Story from her, along with some sweet letters. Interestingly enough she mentioned that this video was one of her all-time favorites. Very, very sweet, kind and a TRUE lady.
@@mayhemmagnetI was a young adolescent at the time of Pans People rise to fame on Top of the Pops but their weekly performance was the highlight of the show for most viewers (particularly the Dads) I knew very little about their personal profile at the time but Felicity Colby was the choreographer for the group and I guess you now know that she was a fellow American who founded the troupe whilst on a vacation to England. All the original girls appear in this performance. I am being reunited with my adolescent via You Tube and I still enjoy watching them to this day. Such is the wonders of modern technology.
@@peterphosphate5436 I first got interested in Flick Colby's career through researching The Goodies - she choreographed three episodes. But she worked on quite a few other UK TV shows. Sadly missed.
Beautiful song beautiful dance routine and beautiful dresses
Lovely memories ==
Dreamy George 💗💗💗💗that was lovely dancing too
Tony Blackburn has been around forever... Still a pro.
& is still a true pro !
He is brilliant
Agree .
Pans beautiful people....never get tired of watching their routines
Beautiful women❤❤❤❤❤
Rest in peace Flick. Andi, and you too Louise....
and you can add ruth to that now she pass away june 27 2017,
Only Babs and Dee Dee left of these awesome ladies, but we still have them on video to enjoy for ever
and you to Ruth.
I wish i grew up to the girls
And you to Ruth, and George Harrison.
Fabulous routine...the bit where the drums fade in at 2:10 always does it for me. Great song and production.
Ohh Babs at 2.44!my dream girl!
La coreografía, las Bailarinas, son TremENdas.
A VERY YOUNG TONY BLACKBURN!!
We know.
I'm not a deity botherer but this song had a big effect on me when it came out, I also love PP so..
❤ this, loved the original pp line up pure class 👌 💃
❤💙💜💖💗💘
Flick Louise Ruth Dee Dee Babs Andi, then came Cherrie ♥ too
Cherie (replacing Andi ) and then Sue (replacing Louise ) were both beautiful and great dancers but the original line up was my favourite - more of them , three beautiful blondes matched by three equally beautiful brunettes .
REAL WOMEN.
Brilliant.
The whole Pans People thing was really quite innocent. They had to work on a routine and only had a week to do it. There was never anything sleezy about it apart from Jimmy Savile.
Shame Louise and Flick are no longer with us.
Top of the Pops was fun.
I think this generation are missing out.
Andi and Ruth (both here) are also gone.
Always fancied Flick, mind you Louise was a very close second.
Dee Dee for me . Flick was the best dancer-except when it was with the others, she was always just ahead or just behind,
mic Last I always noticed her behind 😂
Ruth for me
Class act
COOL
Luv this song 💙💜💚💜💙
Came bak!!!!♡☆♡☆♡in memory david rice rip dear brother xxx
Beautiful song and beautiful women
One of the few times I saw Andi perform where she smiled
Brilliant
Cheers! Takes me back. Our Sweet Lord will return soon I think and take control of his kingdom.
Great song
Sweet lord indeed.
Here are the Pan's People dancers:

front row, right: Ruth Pearson
back row center: Barbara "Babs" Lord
back row, right: Andrea "Andi" Rutherford
Dissolve in and out - 1:05 : Felicity "Flick" Colby
Babs Lord dancing to My Sweet Lord
The classic line up.
i saw that was how they dance at one of the hare krishna temples in Holland at that time
Class
Amazin'
Interesting... never seen this clip before, only the famous live version.
Classic ...
Very nice
Muito Bom !!!
Definitely were the best
I've been trying to get the whole show of this TOTP in December 71, I'm on at the beginning dark haired on the right just behind the blond girl, I know I had to rush home to get ready to get to BBC studios in Wood Lane, W12. It was for the Boxing Day show 1971. It was on hee years ago & removed. Danny Bake showed some it years later in the late 90s as he was on TOTP when he was a youngster.
Good times! I was 4 at the time and living in Banbury, Oxfordshire. I can remember events from 1969!
I have a feeling nobody cares.
True fact: the pointer sisters were sued because their song "he's so shy" was VERY identical to the music of this song.
Harrison and Apple Records were sued by Ronnie Mack's label in 1971for copyright infringement because it sounded similar to He's So Fine. I Harrison's bio, he even acknowledged he was told of the similarities when recording, but claimed he didn't realize it at the time. Lawsuits were finalized in the 90s.
we had nothing else
Madd 🔥
❤❤❤❤❤❤✌✌✌✌✌✌✌
That's a decent host.
Jest takie powiedzenie -- od rozczarowania przez zniechęcenie do rezygnacji.
I wouldn't mind shooting up to a number one slot myself.
Звёздный ручей
.....
Ireally want to see you..... ALLELUIA......
Not wiped, exists at the BBC.

Przepiekny film "My Sweet Lord"-- GEORGE HARRISON(a).
Every 17 boys dream
And every 27,37,47,57,67,77,87,97,every man's dream.
PP
At the very end they reminded me of walking through LaGuardia Airport catching a flight in the 70s and seeing all the bald headed yellow robe wearing Hari Krishnas.... LMAO
That was probably an inspiration.
it was when we all thought we are buddhists
People make fun of Tony Blackburn, but look at that girl on the right of the screen at around 0.16, she is enamoured with him, I'm sure plenty of girls were back in the day.
He looked like a dork in that cheesy outfit. And she would probably have been "enamoured" of ANYONE hosting the show!
😉
Not Wiped. This one survives at BBC.
Wow really, the January edition it comes from IS WIPED, not the Xmas showing where this obviously comes from, why don't people read what I write.
Andee Bee But the Xmas performance wasn't a repeat of the January one - it was new.
Was it how do you know.......

What do you mean [Wiped] ?
Are we not here watching it now?
These days (and for quite a few years actually), they call a group of women (or men), doing a dance routine to a tune, a 'chart act'.
did babs dance here i dont recognise her?
3:20 all three blondes at the front, Andi, Flick and Babs.
What an odd song to dance to. Hare Krishna indeed!
my sweet lord? oh my lord guys get down toaa venue2 on the A5, just of the M1 , Flamstead Uk - 10 miles from Luton.... oh my for a few minutes , thier "dancers for 20n pounds , will for a few minutes will make u fell sweet..... nudge nudge wink wink.... !!
Not overkeen on the record, but Pan's People look gorgeous and dance superbly, in lovely dresses. The religious nature of the lyrics makes them a bit incompatible with the lust inducing feast of eye candy! Still, ignore the lyrics and enjoy the tune and beautiful dancing girls!
キリストかよぉ♪😁
The blonde one...Lovely Babs...don't know what her name was.. ( chortle)
Barbara Lord :)
You mean beautiful Babs!
Pity this song was stole from the record, 'One Fine Day' by the Chiffons, but....this is one hell classic, best ever record i dare say) by an ex beatle.
Wrong. It was plagiarised from 'He's So Fine'.
Dee Dee made me stiff then and still does now
You made her vomit and still do.
It’s probably arthritis
The dance routines were very simple.
Sometimes the songs only required a "simple " routine .
They were awful
Top of the pops was a great show especially with pan's people. They could never bring it back there is so much rubbish around now days. What a shame !
Remember Harrison's plagiarism lawsuit over this song? He was accused of copying the Chiffons' 1963 hit "He's So Fine". Eventually Harrison had to pay the expensive lawsuit.
