- Noel Edmonds looks at the weekly pop chart from 27th September 1973 and introduces Ike & Tina Turner, Status Quo, Rod Stewart, The Hollies, Perry Como, Manfred Mann's Earth Band, The Strawbs, The Jackson 5, Simon Park Orchestra, Dawn feat Tony Orlando and a Pans People dance sequence.
Aw, I adored this song as a 6 year old in 1973. This routine's choreography is genius - a tap dancing vampire...& Cherry makes such a cute bat!!! Brilliant!
Even though some of their routines were comedic, it was lovely to see things like dancing en pointe from time to time. They didn't just bop around, they were trained dancers. Love dee dee as the mummy here.😂

The girls were such good sports. They'd do about anything and make it fun and wear big smiles. Cherry was a hot little bat- Louise in the Top hat and Tails was smokin!

The little bat wasn't wearing high heels. She wouldn't have been able to do her ballet dancing with heels.

I remember this when it was first broadcast. Sadly, pop videos made Pan's People and subsequently Legs and Co redundant. Top of the Pops was a very good programme but sadly there's no chance it will come back. It's too much associated with Jimmy Savile.
