    Idk if anyone else has noticed but once while I was learning how to use command blocks to light up caves, I set it to place sea lanterns under any entity the spawns and wherever it walks.
    The issue I found is sea lanterns have an animated texture and I practically coved all the floors of caves and the surface with sea lanterns, basically lagging my game out and causing a huge loss of frames due to all the animated textures rendering. (Or at least that’s the only thing I believe i did to cause such terrible performance out of nowhere.

      bedrock is a hard game to program for, and its not like java where they can push an update instantly. they have to wait for sony/nintendo and xbox to all confirm and verify the update. kinda silly

    • @son2612
      @son2612 3 года назад +22

      @@silentwisperer great perspective, it’s hard to make any update, patch, anything. A lot of effort goes in, because they are learning new codes everyday, continuously having to update and restructure the game so that everything functions properly. The devs know the inevitability that the “bug fixes” they released will just have caused a whole string of more bugs. Which is a real paradox. I don’t think Minecraft will ever be a fully and 100% bug free game. But who knows. oh also, hi silent

    • @son2612
      @son2612 3 года назад +6

      @@silentwisperer also, a question regarding the video- I was attempting on building a map room. The scope of the project I made was a roughly a 20x wide sphere underneath the floor of my “observatory”, on my realm. (You could view it from a glass floor) regardless; that was the plan. As far as the sphere, I wasn’t planning on doing the whole thing- I already have a pretty large world size.
      I guess, my question is, should I just bail on the project? is scaling it down worth it ? or should I just really not be using maps for that type of project? I was going to use maps for a couple pixel art “paintings”, I’d assume that would be okay as long as im reusing/building on top of the same chunk?
      If you get the chance to respond, I’d appreciate it. I know you’re busy.
      Anyone’s response would be helpful.
      I liked the idea of these projects, but, I’m not exactly.. close to finishing anything. so, go ahead and be honest. Give up on the projects?
      and I don’t know if this effects anything, but I guess it’s worth mentioning that I only have a +2 realm, and don’t exactly have many friends in and out on my realm on a daily basis.

    • @kylopanda8457
      @kylopanda8457 3 года назад +1

      You can build a big sorting system and it would cause a small amount of lag but it will cause a significant amount of lag if the whole system is completely full of items

    • @uwucotc
      @uwucotc 3 года назад +1

      U can reduce the amount of lag in a bulk storage system by locking hoppers and removing the excesive amount of items in the hoppers that dont go into the full chest(just take some items out of the chest so they can fill up the chest again)
      If for some reason u cant lock hoppers use composters on top of the hopper lines or use water stream

    • @tetsujin_144
      @tetsujin_144 2 года назад

      @@uwucotc Using composters on top of the hoppers addresses a different issue. It stops the hopper from trying to pick up item entities from the environment. But the problem described in the video is that, if a hopper has items in it, it will continually try to push those items into the container it points into, unless the hopper is locked. So if the hopper points into a container, but the container can't accept any item from the hopper, it just keeps trying, every tick, to push those same items again. (Using a water stream spares you from having a big hopper pipeline over the storage, but it means all the sorters have to collect items from the environment... In which case you're best served by having a way to lock those hoppers when the system's not in use, at least.)
      It becomes a problem if you have, for instance, a full storage silo, or a long pipeline of hoppers that's backed up with items in it. The example of a sorting system is not just a problem of the hoppers from the sorter trying to push into the chests - it's also a problem if the sorter goes into a multi-chest silo, because then you wind up with hoppers in that silo getting backed up as well.

    5:08 - I think this one, with hoppers trying to continuously push items, has been causing lag problems on my single-player world. I have a kelp-cooking system for XP and producing fuel, with a lot of smokers and both the item distribution (kelp) and fuel distribution (kelp blocks) are pretty simplistic, hopper pipeline over a bunch more hoppers feeding the individual furnaces...
    I've tried to address this in new designs, I made a fuel distribution system for my new super smelter that locks the hoppers most of the time, and unlocks them only when more fuel needs to be distributed. It's a bulky system but hopefully it will help. I haven't added similar features to my old systems yet, though - it's tough, there's not a lot of space to add something like that.
    So yeah, definitely one that can cause problems!

I had made an 18x18 glass building in a deep ocean chunk, filled it with 48 villagers on three floors (34 of them librarians with a specific enchanted book in the first trade slot), and put a sign above each “cell”. Oh my goodness, how unhappy I would have been if *that* was too crazy for the game to handle... I plan to have a sugar cane farm as well, and to turn this box into another iron farm.
    As far as lag goes for PS4, I wish they would add an autosave option, and set trader llamas to despawn at the same time the trader would have... I feel so terrible, with the drowned in the ocean I have 10 llamas to kill when I afk for my manual farms.

    This kills me . I pay for 2 realms and I’m on bedrock . Because bedrock doesn’t have the ability to mark locations with banners I have to use maps . Also because I don’t have the ability to use coordinates in MC PE without turning on cheats I have to use maps in order to coordinate the portals for my nether hub . One of the projects that I have been working on for some time is a Super Large Map wall not only for my Nether Highway but also to be able to get around with the Elytra when I can’t see the ground , which is often . Because you mentioned that you were running a fast PC it seems like the issue is with the Minecraft root server . I started to pay for Realms so that my daughter and my friends and I could sort of spread out and relax because hey I’m paying the toll right ? One of the things that is so intriguing about Minecraft to me is the concept of the infinite world but this seems more like a hobbled horse . Do banners create the same type of lag ? If banners were introduced to PE Bedrock would that solve the issue ? Talk like a pirate …..ArrrrGGhh

    I am in the midst of a storage project that can process every item in the game. Storage silos 64 blocks tall and containing spirals of 4 double chests per layer.
    Currently, the system doesn't lag in 1.10. I see all the good stuff with this update and I keep hoping this might be the next version for me.
    The hopper lag just broke that deal for me. I'm gonna be stuck on this version for another year, it seems.

    • @rustyshackleford5166
      @rustyshackleford5166 3 года назад

      @@silentwisperer yes, the inventory lag is real in 1.10, but only for personal inventory. It doesn't happen at all when opening shulkers, chests or any other inventory that doesn't craft. It's very easy to just avoid opening personal inventory when carrying problematic items.
      The only time I run into that lag is when intentionally transporting full shulkers.
      I really would like to update at some point but there have been bugs in each update that keep me from updating or the update just isn't interesting enough to me. (like bees or half a cave update that lacks the updated caves)
      It's always something with bedrock.

If you play on for an example a nintendo switch it means it will lag on the world with framedrops and the inventory taking minuits to open no matter what you do to avoid lag, even if you just created a world it lages like crazy at random times with framedrops, the inventory taking up to 3 minuits to open and you freezing so that when you unfreeze the game has still been going while beeing freezed so it will insta kill when you unfreeze no matter what armor you have even if you only fight 1 zombie, and that's in single player worlds that takes up like 10MB of space while I have over a 100GB of free space on my nintendo switch.
