I've never fallen into gambling addiction because I'm surrounded by gambling addicts. My grandfather was one and terrorised my dad's family. Although he did not play Minecraft, I have a friend who is 21, young and promising, studying in school and might start his career in five years, but is already roughly 70k USD in debt because of a betting and gambling addiction
To be fair, skyblock does have gambling, but it is based solely on using coins and not real money. You could still technically buy cookies and turn the money from them into dice though. However, buying dice with any form of money/coins is NEVER worth doing since they practically never pay out. The gambling methods the game gives you are always obviously rigged against you. The only time you can usually profit from a dice is by grinding for it yourself.
Screentime is less than 2 hours and I use my phone for work all day, checking slack and approving mfa, yep, can't get me, mr iron will. Now excuse me whilst I get get my 13th beer tonight.
I remember as a kid I played on a p2w server called blockdrop, and i discovered a REALLY easy and op glitch that would let you open any UI, like a loot crate preview, and take whatever you wanted out of that UI for absolutely free, just drag and drop it into your inventory as if you were taking the items out of a chest, it even worked for the /ah UI and so on. The best part is that when you re-opened the UI, the item you took would be right back inside of the UI, which means you could take an infinite amount of whatever you wanted. The glitch was simple, hold a crate key (you could get some for free) in your offhand slot, and open a crate, and that is literally it, for better effectiveness you can spam F to rapidly switch your key from one hand to another. Anyways I regret discovering this glitch to this day, when I was a kid I was too stupid and selfish to abuse the glitch to its full potential, and I just took some op items for myself and then told EVERYONE what I was doing. Eventually the mods jumped me and told me I was gonna get banned, and if I told them how I did the glitch I would be banned for less time, and I stupidly ended up caving in and telling them. I visited blockdrop years later and the left hand slot was completely disabled, which I found hilarious, but im pretty sure the server is back to normal now.

@@AlwaysBolttheBirdtons of fake/outdated information, look at terraria pages, insane amount of ads. The site owners will let companies pay to spread misinformation or delete information. Normal person will get banned for correcting information.
@it’s just put together better and more frequent updates, plus fandom’s ad and stuff is just annoying
@@AlwaysBolttheBird people edit things on fandom to ruin the page, which still is possible on the minecraft wiki, but is harder because Mojang helped it (somehow I think). And also the amount of pop up ads was one of the reasons they changed it.
Imagine a bar owner saying "most of my patrons aren't kids."

Heres a thought. If there were no pay to win servers, not only would there be less servers, but theoretically, there would be more players on each server, potentially getting more people willing to donate.

I dont know how to dupe, but I’ve watched DuperTrooper from the humble beginnings just like The horizon, SalC1 or even TheMisterEpic, Zman etc…, even when I dont know how to dupe I love to watch videos from these guys
The Horizon and other anti-pay-to-win minecraft youtubers would be proud.
Duper trooper the goat, I remember playing a survival mc server with him in 2020 and he made a casino in it
I watch Duper Trooper but I did not know he had a whole tragic hero backstory, that's hella cool.
Instead of getting addicted to paying the pay-to-win servers, get addicted to duping on pay-to-win servers.
I learnt a new thing today! :)
6:56 you didn’t need to call us out like that man
Really proud of most of the people you mentioned in this video, I remember some of them from way back. I think I duped with multiple of them on random p2w servers too. The good old days.
The worst part about this kinda thing is that it all happens in roblox aswell, but there is no exploits to break the games.

I prey that he's on scholarships because that 70k could become 3-7mil in student debt on top of that
ah yes. gotta love vigilantes breaking p2w trashcan servers. keep the work up, dupertrooper 👍

@@Raoul. OK I was already corrected once I don’t need to be corrected again
It was just a simple mistake

This is actually so cool; I knew of pay to win servers but I never realized it was this bad. Can't fault the people who cause such servers to go down
I'm so glad I had a mom who taught me that my money can only be spent once and I shouldn't make spendings I would regret later. I never got into gambling or pay-to-win games thanks to this very lesson, and I wish more people had the same lesson too.
Educate your kids, don't let them fall for these scams, make them disgusted of these practices if you can, this is the only way things will get better.

yup there are no rigged dice, wheels for rerolling stats, getting a special dragon and pet, getting a cooler rune, looting corpses, giving inferno minions special fuel and then pouring eyedrops made out of spicy stuff.
yeah we still play hypixel skyblock not hypixel gambleblock.
thanks for reminding me
He means gambling with real life money. That's the main issue these guys have with p2w. It's the fact that they profit from introducing children to destructive gambling addictions with IRL money.
All of that is totally unnecessary for progression, it is just an option. With ender dragons being the inly exception, but they are only needed for extremely fast enderman slayer (its not even needed) and m7 fifth phase, which is pretty niche end game content.
Yeah you don't actually have to spend any irl money for it though all of that is honestly easily obtainable eventually playing fully f2p just takes a while in hours because it's a grindy game
Honestly guys u should quit hypixel skyblock before it consumes your life
only 2 of those are kinda needed for progression, and it's pretty easy to just get them from grinding
In memory of Colorcrew, I write this. Many years back I played factions on Cuboss. It was as pay to win as any other. I solo'd for a while before chance encountering one player, DaisyTheCat. A goofy pacifist I messed around with on the server for a while. Not sure why, but they allowed me to join the faction (against others wishes) and the rest was history. Among my most memorable moments in the game was as a part of Colorcrew for 2 or so years. We were a polar divide of people. Many of us were builders and pacifists, while also having 2-3 of the top 10 players also.
To DaisyTheCat, DiamondPVP, SapphirePVP, Emily, and the others whose names have been lost from memory, Thank you for all the fun.

those 3, SalC1, duper trooper, and horizon are literally famous in the 2b2t community. they are amazing hackers and know really good connections with shit tons of mc people.
Whats funny is that even with unlimited gold, to become an end game player in hypixel skyblock will still take 500+hrs at least.
This remembers me of my time playing in mc servers, tho since my parents never bought anything online i never spent my money, but i was good at making friends and they even bought me ranks and such, but looking back at it made me realise how disgusting the business practices are, they gave money to the top 1 players but to get there you would need to spend hundreds of dollars in ranks

how to maybe monetize with those mystery crate stuff without being pay-to-win:
make everything you win purely cosmetic and not affect the game for any advantage

I never played on many servers back when I was really into minecraft, there were definitely some p2w systems on the ones I did play, but luckily I never got the chance to even try those rigged systems. If anyone thinks that people like Duper Trooper and Horizon causing havoc like this leaves no impact you're just dead wrong. Knowledge truly is an insane weapon and the more people learn about scummy tactics the less people will become addicted. We just can't accurately measure the impact because it's not an immediate effect and we can't look at two separate timelines of a kid getting addicted due to being unaware and another where the same kid avoided addiction because of being taught early on.
