Once again, Kevin has the content we didn't know we needed. I really need to upgrade my phone, but I've been dreading transferring all my photos to my desktop. This tutorial makes it look every easy. Bookmarked the video for later. Thanks Kevin!
This is splendid. My phone got some water damage some weeks ago, and over the past few days the screen started fading in and out. I am able to use this feature to continue with my current phone until I can afford to purchase a new one. Thanks a lot Kev
Kevin, thank you so much for your tutorías!! You’re a well full of knowledge and you explain everything in plain English
You are my #1 “teacher” for all of this, also, since I found you very early in your channel, I had all my employees look at your channel, actually, when needed, we send each other your videos
Thank you so much for your channel and please keep it up!!
You’re the best man!!!
Dell Mobile Connect? Wow! Never heard of it before. Everything to the point. Can't wait to try it out. Loved it as always.
I have wanted to do this for years! Thank you so much for sharing this tutorial, it's life-changing.
I've looked into this app before but never followed through with setting it up, i will definitely give it a try again after watching your video!
I have been looking for this for more than 6 months… Thanks for this video (subscribed)
Absolutely amazing! You have outdone yourself Kevin!
Hey Kevin, my Dad is your biggest fan!! He introduced me into your channel, now I am also your fan!!❤️
Thank you, Kevin, for this video. This really helps a lot. Thanks.
I just discovered this channel it’s been a lifesaver since I’m new to Windows been a Mac user for most of my life. I just received my Surface Laptop 4 and it’s incredible! Thank you for all your help.
Yes! Thank you, Kevin. I've been trying to figure out how to get files from my phone onto my computer. This did the trick.
This is so cool! Thanks for the tutorial, Kevin! Will definitely give this a try. :)
Kevin, I’ve become addicted with your Uploads on variety of subjects. Thank You Sir
Happy to hear that! 👍
Ugh. Finally!!! Thank you so much for this video. Such simple guidance, I was able to get everything working before the entire video finished. I appreciate you.
You're wonderful Kevin. Always very informative and efficient! Thanks a lot and have a nice day!
Great content, thank you. Works well even on an old computer connected to an old Android phone.
You are the Best!!!! This helped my dad so much 🔥🔥🔥🔥👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
This took a few trys, but got it! Very Cool! Thank you Kevin.
I needed this video thanks Kevin!
this is an amazing application . i love it personally
Just a couple comments on the limitations you mentioned with the iPhone. When I installed on my Android phone, with messages, I can see the history of all my messages. Also, when replying to MMS messages, it does reply to the group. In the Settings, under Advanced, there is an option to Reply to all as a group in the Group Messaging settings.
Thank you Kevin you really are a great master and your way of explaining is simply wonderful.
Once again ... Kevin you made my day I was really searching for this finally got it ... it's working fine. Have a great day ahead
Amazing 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you for saying irrespective (instead of irregardless)! LOL
It seems it is accepted and a correct term.
Kevin, thanks, keep on teaching us this useful technology 😊
Thank you so much for the help! I was having so many issues and your instructions were really helpful in fixing all of them.
Amazing, I didn’t know there’s a free solution like this
Great app, thanks for the video!
I am having an issue with the mirroring feature and would appreciate some guidance if possible.
The mouse does not click on the area I press on through my computer mouse, as if it is not aligned. I checked the accessibility settings and local network in the app but still not working.
This is the one. This is the video you’ve been looking for. Thank you!
this is just amazing ,i started using now , love you man for making things simple
Hi Kevin. Thanks for the pointers. I’ve repeated the steps several times but can’t get the store to allow the install. I’m still on Windows 10 (Surface Book 2). Any suggestions?
For samsung devices, you adviae the native windows pc connet or this one from dell?!
Thank you Kevin, it works great and the new app even allows phone call from PC. I was looking for something like that for ages.
Thank you Kevin for all your videos. What ever I'm in need or looking for are readily available here, that's amazing and wonderful. Thanks again.
Hello Kevin, in this video about the driver installer, how to skip bluetooth for a desktop computer. It is failing without the device.
So the connection way required for wifi or Bluetooth or the internet connection
The driver asks for Bluetooth.. which is a must.. and my desktop pc doesn't have Bluetooth built-in.
TRUE
You can add a Bluetooth dongle to your desktop PC for a relatively low cost.
Can this be done using WiFi?
Awesome work around - great information and thanks very much for solving the problem the rest of the internet couldn't. Will be sharing this with many.
For non Dell PC user, does changing the value (Dell) in registry affects the pc in general? I mean, what if I download future applications? Will it affect the compatibility to my PC since I changed the registry into Dell?
Can someone answer my querry? Thank you in advance.
I expected this! Lovely visuals in the thumbnail! When you put iPhone or Android in the title let me say one thing, you get a win win!
Wow it works... Thank you very much Mr. Kevin
This is really cool. I've been using Your Phone but its connect is unstable, but Dell Connect which uses Bluetooth is much more stable. Thanks man!
this is NOT working for me. When i try to load app it says my systems doesn't meet minimum requirements?
Hi, Kevin thanks for this though I am still stuck at the regedit thing. under store I can't see the StoreContentModifier. I only see the default raw only instead of two rows with storecontentmodifier as the second row. What can I do about this to be able to continue the process? I have also tried activating bluetooth on my pc but it's not available.
Same. I don't have the StoreContentModifier
For every one who cannot find the storecontent modifier: Just right click, select new, select string value, rename it to(StoreContentModifier) and change value to dell_Xps.
then follow the video.
Thanks to Suns Lama 👍
@@superbmanz right click WHERE ? on what?
@@superbmanz you legend, I hope this works, thanks a bunch!
Wow, I can finally get and make calls from my PC without picking up my cell. Thanks for the video!!
Chairman, thanks for this info. You are doing a great job.
Ello, Thank you a lot for this video, in regedit, I don't have the StorecontentModifier. Can I add it or something special to do? thanks !
Same here
I would back up the existing registry key first before making any changes.
so we must first save a back up of the existing registry ?
@@j.emotionalloner6798 It's not required as long as you're comfortable with remembering the original key. I work in IT, so I always backup the impacted registry key (s) out of common practice.
@@louisd95714 if i leave the dell_xps in my registry will it mess up my pc?
@@RandyReviews1990 No, but if the entry is not changed, chances are you would not be able to install what is described in this video. After installing the app, then the entry should get changed back to dell_xps
@@louisd95714 well i did what kevin said and it still said not compatible with my pc so i just gave up i was hoping to change it back to whatever value i had first but if it will do no harm to my pc i just lll just leave dell_xps in my resistry!
Many thanks for this video. I have already noticed this app (as I own a Dell XPS) but only after seeing your video, I realized how useful it might be. Your procedure works also fine in a Lenovo laptop which I use at home. Cool! Thanks!
regedit caused my windows bar to stop working as well as many other things did you do anything different?
Kevin You're just Awesome ! ❤️
Hi Kevin, thank you for the great tutorial! Unfortunately, I am not able to finish the installation of the Dell Mobile Connect Driver because I receive a message, that I have to switch on the Bluetooth on my computer, and I do not have any. The second problem is that on my PC the file StoreContentModifier does not exist. Under Store File, there is only a Default REG_SZ. Should I modify this one? Thank you for your time! .😊
same here
Same here too!
I was having that same problem, all you have to do is create a new registry filling in the title name exactly how he has it. In that same section though.
Also, you can buy a USB dongle that gives your computer Bluetooth access for like $15 off Amazon
Create new STRING. I had to do the same. Then I got a $10 Bluetooth dongle from amazon and everything worked as expected.
Not having any luck. Followed instructions, but upon restart still received message "This app is not compatible with this device." My device is a Surface Pro with the Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-7300U CPU @ 2.60GHz 2.71 GHz processor. Any suggestions? Thanks.
I had to reboot, then run wsreset.exe again to get the store to actually reset.
Thanks. I’ve been looking for this.
You are genius!
Thanks!!
You have to click on the "Screenovate Technologies" The app publisher. Then click on 1 of 3 the "Dell Mobile Connect 3.3" and can install it then. It will not say it's not a Dell pc then.
Could you elaborate on the "1 of 3" part?
@@ExtremeWays4Bourne click on the first of three options. That said, it took me two hours of updating my registry, reading blogs and endless clicks. I was able to get all the appropriate apps installed on my PC & phone. The phone app kept locking up so I decided to check out some of the recent reviews. After reading 30+ negative comments I uninstalled everything.
I have never tried the Microsoft "Your Phone" app. 15 min later I had my PC & Oneplus 7 pro fully connected and is working perfectly.
@@ExtremeWays4Bourne do you have the MS "your phone" app on your PC? I have been testing it out and it is working perfectly for texts, phone calls, picture management so far.
@@ExtremeWays4Bourne sorry, can't help you with that one. Best of luck my friend
The Regedit didn't work for me. This did. Thanks for the tip!
Excellent instructions. Still, I love my iMac and its simplicity of this function...
Thank you Kevin. I can see how this app will be vastly useful! Thanks again 👍😊
You bet!
I'm very happy that i found this channel.
A question: what about that registry change? Shall it remain switched to Dell, or maybe it can be reversed after the installation? Why/why not?
I tried removing the registry key after the installation.
Next time I opened the app I got an error message and the app didn't run.
The registry setting is a newer one... many older PCs don't have it. I believe it was added for checks like this, where an app publisher wants to make an app available to a specific device. This is the first app that I've come across that uses that value. Make note of the original value and you can always change it back if needed.
@@KevinStratvert won't that registry issue cause some harm ¿ I use an HP and I am damn scared of playing with registry
@@mzzar_xd I did it nothing happened SO I reversed all changes
I tried it many times, the compatibility status never changed. I really need this for my work. Unfortunately, I couldn't make it run!
Same here. Registry change doesn't work. Did the wsreset and reboot and still no change.
Same Here. System does not meet the requirements
Asus Laptop
Great info but I'm having same non-working issue after purchase of 'Bluetooth' dongle & repeated registry changes, 'wsrest' -runs & full restarts. Sill getting 'Not Compatible' message from Store...
Thanks a lot Kevin for your activity, I learned a lot from you. Wish you and your family healthy long meaningful life. May Allah protect your kids.
This video is super cool, thank you Kevin!
Kevin, thanks so much for the information. However, I did everything as listed on your channel and when launching, it comes up telling me my device "does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software". I check my pc and it meets all the requirements listed for the driver. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

I had the same problem and after some digging it seems the new version of DMC no longer supports non-pro versions of Windows 10. I got around this with another registry change to make windows "appear" to be the pro version (just as you made the laptop "appear" to be a Dell)
in regedit, navigate to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion" and then edit "EditionID" to say "Pro"
after I did that, DMC launched with no issue
@@alexiscooper4048 it is a professional for me, but still getting the same error message. hmm
@@alexiscooper4048 i changed that value but the initial value that he tells me to edit is not there under store.. i cant change a value to xps dell from surface pro because its not there...
If you’re telling your computer that you now own a Dell XPS How will that affect other downloads specifically if we have a surface?
It does, just rename back to what it was, the app should work. That was for the download to show up.
I’m definitely going to get this app as soon as possible thank you so much
That’s pretty sleek kevin, I am going definitely to test this out, & will post to my channel if i found pretty useful, will check if hp has something similar to offer as well
Thanks for the awesome video
How is your phone connected to the pc? bluetooth, wifi or cable?
It connects using Bluetooth.
0:49 who all agrees thomas is really cute 😍😍
😁
@@KevinStratvert And who all agrees Kevin is handsome: )
Very useful thanks!
This all worked for me on my home built desktop running windows 10. I did have to do the registry key a couple times. I Impatiently installed dell mobile connect before doing all of his steps, and I had to uninstall it and follow the video in that order to get it to work. Stoked I can control my iphone with my mouse and keyboard now.
If you change the registry back after the app is installed, will the app still work?
Another option is to go to the ms store on your phone's browser, sign in with your Microsoft account, search for the app, add it to your cart (when though it's free) and "purchase" it... or you might just see an option to "install on your devices"...
I recently do that on my surface pro for a Samsung app that's technically only for Samsung windows laptops and it worked flawlessly
@@RuuDBoY868 Very nice idea, but the Dell app said 'not compatible' on my pc.
@@abdullahseba4375 I had the same issue - but noticed in the comments that people here were saying to type in "dell_Xps" not "Dell_Xps" as the value. On setting the lower case "d" and resetting the store again it worked for me. Perhaps try that yourself!
@@RuuDBoY868 I have it installed on my Android mobile and attempt to 'install on my devices' (HP laptop) BUT my pc (MS store) kept showing "downloading DELL mobile connect " but refused to proceed... anyone share the same??
Update: Finally installed on my HP laptop & launched BUT this system does not match the minimum requirement of Dell Mobile Connect, guess will still have to modify the regedit.
Thanks Kevin. That's a game changer! I also use Dell laptop and iPhone combination. I even use Chrome browser on iPhone as my default too :). You're the man!
so well explained. and comprehensive .you solved my problems and thank you so much
PERFECTION!! 100% WORKS! I was worried since the video was made almost a year ago - However, I have an iPhone 13 MINI - and a SURFACE PRO 7 (computer/tablet combination ) - I watched the video on my phone, so I could do as he did on my computer and step for step - PERFECTION!!!
.
Although now you can simply scan a QR code from the screen on a computer with the phone - the entire process took maybe 2-3 minutes!
.
THANK YOU!!! I looked way too long before checking youtube lol - VERY glad I found your channel and will now sub to not miss more tips!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge with me and others.
Wow!! great video and app. Thanks a lot Kevin! I've waiting for this for so long

This is amazing! Thank you!
I have and HP PC and after my first attempt I got the following error message "This device do not meet the minimum requirements for installing this software". I did some research via Google and got all twisted and frustrated with recommendations. I was puzzled and said to myself "my man Kevin has never let me down before". I was nearly about to give up on this game changing feature but decided to review the comments to this video. Then I followed the recent instructions to add an OEMID string with "DELL" as the value to Regedit. Then uninstalled DMC, restarted my PC, ran Wsrest.exe, reinstalled DMC from the MS Store and Bingo! The Dell Mobile Connect application ran with no error message. Thanks Kevin you are the man!
You are incredible thank you so much!!!!
Worked!!!! Thank you so much!
Great video Kevin.
You are amazing Kevin 👍😎
I have a HP Probook and I could not make this work. But after reading alot of the comments in here, I tried a couple of things and found a solution! The only way I managed to make this work, was to enable sideloading (installing software outside Microsoft Store) as a developer. I now works just as Kevin shows in the video! This is awesome! :D
Thank you.nice info.
Wow this is truly amazing!! Thanks
Very cool.
The Microsoft Your Phone and Samsung phone allows Messaging history on PC and all of the items you mentioned.
Hopefully they do this for iPhones and other Androids.
