Microsoft should add more features like Dell mobile connect: File sharing and mirroring and extra clipboard sync feature.
I usually am late to upgrade my windows OS. I had windows 11 on a laptop and never really looked into the new fancy stuff. I've now uograded my home PC to windows 11 and I am SO happy with it.
I know people don't like new stuff, and neither do . But after disabling alot of the efficiency stuff and customizing the UI to what I want, I can say that I really like Windows 11. It seems to be the most productive windows for me.
I also just got a new Samsung Watch and everything being connected together is just awesome.
Very happy with this OS.
I also saw that benchmarks in general perform better between Windows 10 and 11 on Windows 11. I can say thats true. The first thing I did was download all of games. I can't say that there is a MASSIVE boost but in general I have a few settings up a little higher and am achieving the same frame rate.

the phone link app works beautifully. I did not have my expectations high. But Microsoft did well with this app! it seems to work flawlessly on my windows 11 laptop! And i can get all calls and messages on my computer. even use apps. and transfer pictures. so when i'm at home there's literally no need for me to have my phone on me while i'm on my PC
Is any of your phones contents shared with microsoft? can anyone from microsoft or third parties see any of your photos or text messages? I cant find this info anywhere.

thanks was able link the two together, had to reset password for get Microsoft apps link to my windows 11pro and cellphone, MS authenticator app, other login items apps...

Please can you help with understanding how to troubleshoot a call issue I'm having. I want to be able to use a headset that's plugged into the computer and use the mic on the headset for the call. Although the only mic that is being used is the mic on the phone which defeats the whole purpose of taking calls on the PC.
The "Try another way" option when presented with the QR Code scan, is not showing sadly. So mine is bonkered and will not show QR code or let me sidestep with PIN
what about my videos on the Android device? I can not access them vie Phone link!
Nice in theory but terrible in practice because you need to keep your phone turned on and unlocked to use the app. That completely drains the battery and makes the app redundant: if I need to keep my phone open, I'll just open my phone whenever I need it and save battery life.
It doesn't require either of those things once it's set up. My phone is locked and screen is off and it works just fine. The phone has to be powered on, yes, but not unlocked and "open".

Dude i was onley part way thru this vid paused clicked went back clicked and followed your instructions and boom i got my pixel 7 to connect to my pc. Not sure why google had to make this so darn hard but thank you for the video and your time to make it.

not sure why I would want otherwise as I can carry my phone anywhere at anytime and not my DESKTOP PC!
I.E. if a song is playing on my pc I want to navigate through the player from my phone or use the phone touchscreen as a track-pad for the PC! while in the kitchen or something
(those are already existent on that KDE connect app that I mentioned btw so not a total impossible expectation considering the windows phone app is almost half a GB in size)
Great suggestion you could also submit this feedback through the 'Phone Link' app to get to the relevant team 🙂
Can I get around this for not having a PC wifi? My PC is connected to router via ethernet cable, the router emits the WIFI my phone is connected to, so its basicaly the same internet, just one by cable and one by Wifi. Can u help pls?

I actually use this application to transfer calls from my phone to my laptop, but the headset microphone won't seem to work, and *the caller cannot hear me??* I can hear them just fine, but when I try to talk, they are not getting anything from my mic., and I am hoping to get a cause for this please. I just installed Windows 11 23H2 (it had Phone link; where my previous version didn't). The install was just today. other than drivers and a couple of apps (Office/VLC/Avid/AntiVirus) I installed WhatsApp. I have WhatsApp on both my iPhone 15 and my desktop. I always take calls on either device w/o issue until Phone Link. When answering on the PC, the WhatsApp call sounds like a helicopter and robot. You can transfer the call back and fourth to the phone and PC, but whenever on the PC it sounds horrible. Today before Phone Link I used what's app for a call and there was no audio issue.
I reinstalled Windows, and found that it works better if before you enable Phone Link, that you do add the phone to the PC via bluetooth. The audio did get better however, the Phone Link client seems to add an addtional hop in the call. People I spoke with noticed the lag (delay)

I want this app to be able to take and give calls from the computer without having to hook up a headset or picking up the phone. so in a way I want my laptop to be the phone but the bluetooth connected on my laptop doesn't connect to my phone calls on this app so this app is worthless to me right now until they add that feature I'll look for something else. Unless it does then and someone wants to point me to the right direction that be nice

Will Link to Windows and Phone Link work on a device that connects to the internet via ethernet. My pc doesn't have a Wifi card built in so I would need to use ethernet. I want to connect my phone to my desktop computer which connects to the internet via ethernet.

This will depend on your company and the policies that they have on both your PC and Phone - it would be best to check with your company if you have any specific questions or queries!
I have managed to link and can see all my photos from my phone on my pc but I would like to select all to be able to save at the same time. Is there a way to do this or do I have to save them separately?
The fact i can't see all the files on my device and instead only the phjotos from the main photo gallery, and in addition to that i can only transfer ONE PHOTO AT A TIME.....this is terrible. back to cables......

That all depends on the device that you have! Typically it's the same as uninstalling any app from the app store, however some devices may not allow this.

yes, but only for certain Samsung & Honor devices.

"The Phone Link requires the following to work:
- A PC running Windows 10 (with the May 2019 Update or later) or Windows 11.
- An Android device running Android 8.0 or later.
- Your phone and your PC both need to be connected to the same Wi-Fi network."
- Pairing involves in a secure exchange of credentials. If you disable, you will need to approve the pairing again, regardless of whether or not it has been set up before.
- Communications occur locally. They do not occur across the Internet. You can easily prove this yourself.
- One security concern is that a hack into your PC gives the hacker access to 2FA SMS texts sent to your phone.
Also, if you have an iPhone your PC must have a Bluetooth adapter that's capable of low-power Bluetooth. This gave me fits for a while because it worked fine on an Android phone.
can you use it on surface duo1 without bit opened screen? I can see white light then using it then sd1 fully closed :/
Heads up in 2924, the Microsoft surface phone you're using-my Matulie-is now DEAD and unsupported. It "quirked" to death🤣
The Surface Duo was our Android phone of choice at the time of recording this video however it is still a supported feature on newer Android devices too!

Does this work on Apple iPhones?
As of the 22H2 update, Phone Link now works with iOS 14 or higher however some features differ to Android. As a separate note, iCloud integration is now included with the Photos app on all updated Windows 11 devices!
Will Edge automatically recognize a one time password sent via SMS and auto-populate the field on the Windows 11 desktop when you have Phone Link connected, à la iOS/MacOS and Safari?
good thing you allow streaming from phone to laptop only for a few samsung models. otherwise my xiaomi would have benefited from this app.
Phone Link works alongside your phone, so you can use messages, photos, calls and receive notifications. However not all Android devices support all available features.

It's only for Samsung and Surface Duo phones. Others have to use Screen Mirroring.
I have been using my Iphone on my Macbook for years, I think finally Microsoft is catching up, but please don't add a lot of things which are not needed. I need to use my phone on my laptop (to stay focussed) meaning make and answer calls, text messages and notifications thats all. other than that I will grab my phone.
more features you add can be confusing to users and they decide to do it the old way. please see how apple is doing it.

Same network limit is such a joke, everyone using wired connection on their PC will understand. Gotta stick to cable, at least it charges phone at the same time.
Pro tip: this doesn't work if you have the LG v30 phone. at least not for me. I can't use my apps.

It isn't able to be used the other way around unfortunately, however if it's files that you're looking to share and access between devices then backing everything up via OneDrive would be a solution!
