Did I miss something or does this feature only transmit video and not audio captured by the smartphone's microphone? I used it on a desktop PC, which doesn't have an internal microphone, and Windows simply only received the video from the phone. If that's the case, it's kind of useless, and would only serve to replace the terrible laptop cameras.
Anyway to force it to use the phone over USB not wireless, would reduce some of the lag. I don't think it is an option for non pixel owners (on s22ultra)
Hi, You can try these alternatives: Webcamoid: This is a full-featured and multi-platform webcam suite. It allows you to zoom, change the microphone, and apply various effects. It’s free and open-source1. YouCam: Developed by CyberLink, YouCam offers a range of features including zoom, virtual backgrounds, and face tracking. It integrates well with video conferencing platforms like Zoom and Microsoft Teams2. ManyCam: This app is great for live streaming and video conferencing. It allows you to zoom, switch between multiple video sources, and add overlays. It’s available for both Windows and macOS2. Debut Video Capture Software: This software allows you to record from your screen, webcam, or other video devices. It includes zoom functionality and the ability to change audio input sources1. Yawcam: A simple and easy-to-use webcam software that includes features like zoom and microphone selection1.
Hi, Continue to update your Windows 11 device. Optionally, you can join the Windows insider Program, or enable the toggle in Windows update to receive the latest updates faster
Ah nevermind, my Windows 11 was apparently still in 21H2, while the latest one is 23H2, and wont update to the latest one due to the processor being unsupported. I had to force upgrade mine and I am now able to see the Cross Device Experience Host and have it get updated. My only other issue is that despite the camera connecting, its only of HD quality, all the while my phone can handle 4k to 8k resolution. Hence output on picture and video is shyte. I wonder if theres an option to force it to use FHD or 2K resolution at the very least to take advantage of the phones good quality cameras?.
Hi, It means that is not yet available on your machine. If you open the windows update page in your settings there is a toggle button that allows you to get the very latest update, early.
Great. Thanks. Works perfectly on my Samsung phone and windows 11. Great step by step explanation.

Hi,
In order to use your smartphone mic you need to install another tool.
@@DeLucaGiulian How strange. It seems like an incomplete feature to me.
@Bpergher yes you are right using even the mic it would be definitely a better tool, I hope this capability will be implemented

In the windows settings check privacy and be sure that you are giving access to the apps that you want in order to use the microphone
