    Justin, I don't know if you'll see this, but I want to thank you. I'm 57 and a former dancer but I had a chronic disease that significantly reduced my stamina and made me mostly sedentary. Luckily my symptoms lessened when I went through menapause, but I found myself afraid of walking down stairs and shakey on my feet. I've always been a big walker, but stairs in particular were really a barrier to me. Over the past three months, I've been doing your "fitness snacks" throughout the day as I work from home. Just this week I noticed that I'm walking down stairs with stability and not coming home exhausted. I took an 8-hour train journey from Zurich to Eindhoven, changing trains three or four times, hurrying through stations and up and down platforms, and I felt fine! Thank you for your help. I was finding fitness programs, even though for beginners, impossible to fit into my day, and exasperatingly hard to begin. But I could do 5 sit to stands whenever I step away from my desk and 60 seconds of knee raises waiting for the coffee machine. THANK YOU!!!

    Thanks for these moves. Please suggest exercises to enable one to sit cross legged for long. I have pain on back of knee down the leg. want to fix it and sit cross legged.

    Most elderly people have problems getting up off the floor. As a child you spend a lot of time on the floor, adults do not.
    Doing yoga / stretching exercises on the floor can improve balance, mobility, flexibility and the ability to get up and down..
    Just getting up and down to the floor in a controlled manner is difficult for many older adults.
    Play with your children on the floor. Bend over, get down and pull weeds in your garden. Play with a pet on the floor.
    The more effort you make to work on balance and flexibility will pay dividends as you age.

    Riding a bicycle is a great way to exercise. Ebikes are bringing many older adults back to cycling.
    Cities need to do more to encourage people to ride bicycles. Safe protected bike lanes and trails are needed so adults and children can ride safely. Speak up for bicycles in your community. Bicycles make life and cities better. Ask your local transportation planner and elected officials to support more protected bike lanes and trails. Children should be riding a bicycle to school and not be driven in a minivan. Be healthier and happier. Ride a bicycle regularly.
