Oh my. I remember listening to this on the radio in the mid 90s. I was about 13 at that time and didn't understand a word except "I love you". I'd always had that melody stuck in my mind, but had never heard it again until just now, as it was used in a video I was watching. You can't imagine how happy I am to finally know the title of the song and that it was by the Pet Shop Boys! It takes me 20 years back and I feel all nostalgic now...

Obrigada Pet Shop Boys por terem feito uma canção tão leve quanto férias em um parque aquático. Como brasileira, admiro o fato de se inspirarem em ritmos diferentes como o Cubano em Domino Dancing. Sempre pioneiros, levaram um pouco do Olodum a outras nações. Sei que nunca lerão isso mas meu sincero agradecimento. Espero quando essa onda passar possa voltar a nadar livremente como quando crianças por mares, piscinas, cachoeiras até meus dedos enrugarem.

DD É sim!! É o sample da música do Olodum (Estrada da Paixão). Quando eles foram ao Brasil, Salvador em 1994 para uma tour ou show, eles ouviram essa música e pegaram o sample dela e fizeram essa música.

Essa música foi inspirada pelo Olodum. Eles compraram alguns discos brasileiros em 1994 quando vieram ao Brasil, entre eles estava um disco do Olodum, nesse disco tinha uma música chamada "Estrada da Paixão" e eles resolveram usar os samples, arranjos, etc... As duas músicas são idênticas.
Eu vim aqui procurar alguma informação pois imaginei que “se a vida e” fosse português, apesar de que a pronúncia de “e” provavelmente deveria ser “é”, e nem faz muito sentido no contexto, e a tradução não seria “that’s the way life is”, mas sim “if life is”, o que fica muito em aberto...
