The song is based on "Estrada Da Paixão" by African-Brazilian band Olodum which Neil heard while Pet Shop Boys were on the South American leg of their “Discovery” tour in 1994.
This track is included in SMASH - The Singles 1985 - 2020. The complete collection of Pet Shop Boys singles in chronological order. “SMASH" will be released on Parlophone on June 16th in a variety of formats including 3CD box set, 6LP vinyl box set and digitally, as well as two special limited edition formats available exclusively via the Pet Shop Boys store - 6LP white vinyl box set and 3-cassette box set. A 3CD/2Blu-ray edition will also be released which includes the complete video collection of the singles plus extras.

Se a vida é (Portuguese) = Así la vida es (Spanish) In neither case would the verb come last in contemporary spoken Spanish or Portuguese (it would be así es la vida in Spanish and Se é la vida in Portuguese, perhaps contracted to s'é la vida like French contracts it to c'est la vie) but poetry and sing lyrics sometimes involve unusual sentence structures for purposes of rhyming or syncing with the melody). In French, you could also say ainsi la vie est if you wanted the verb to come at the end, just like you would say così la vita è in Italian if you wanted the verb to be at the end of the sentence or phrase in that language, even though most people would normally say così è la vita.
