I am very happy you found it informational! ♥️ maybe there is (at least a tiny) link between all your interests that would create a wonderfully original niche? 😁
You can be really interested in lots of things and paint lots of things but just POST the main niche you want to focus on? Or maybe put the other ones on something like IG stories rather than the main post area. 🤷♀️ But I am the same. I love so many different things.
Came here from your instagram account, because I love your beautiful illustrations and now I love all your interesting tips about finding your niche ! As an artist for over 20 years selling online, I find things have changed a lot in the marketing area and I feel now a bit lost or "expired" in the art world especially when it comes to communicate online and get people engaged with what I do. Not to mention I evolved myself in many different ways, and I feel I have sometimes to start from scratch with is truly scary in a way. Anyway, thank you so much and I wish you lot of success with your Slavic Village !
Thankyou so much for giving examples of art buyer “problems”. This is a part of marketing that got me stuck - I couldn’t answer the question, I was like I don’t know they just see stuff and want it or don’t?! 😅 I get it now!
I’m so happy it was helpful!! I was so stuck on it too, I always thought people simply buy art because it’s pretty and therefore I will only sell enough of it once it’s the prettiest it can be 🥲 learning this was so relieving! 😄
I feel ya! The word “problem” always makes me think of more serious things, so conciliating that with art was weird at first lol. Now I think of it more as like “solving a want/desire”. Nobody is gonna die if they don’t eat ice cream, but people sure do want it! So the ice cream parlor is solving that want.
I like how you *illustrated* what you said by showing your art on the screen as you talked about the niches. The grandma example was funny. I just subscribed
I love how you're showing Slavic culture and tradition trough your art! It's especially close to my heart too - fellow Slavic soul from Poland here :'D I also love the seasonal changing~ I'm on a verge of trying to find my own thing too (I work as full time illustrator for a company and drawing non stop for others can drain your joy and creativity too :')). I'm so happy to discover such amazing artists like you to share their journey, it's so inspiring! Thank you so much for the advices - and keep up the wonderful work!
Ahh hello to a fellow Slavic soul! 😁♥️ I’m very happy the Slavic content resonates with you! 🥰 I completely understand, drawing for others tends to suck the joy out of creating 🥲 I hope you get to find the perfect thing for you! And thank you so much for the lovely comment!! ♥️
What a delightful watch this was. Thanks to my husband I get to learn more about Slavic culture. ♥️ You gotta make the digital washi tape situation that you blend in at e.g. 2.33min into a real physical washi tape if you haven’t. I would totally buy it for my journal 🌻
Thank you so much! ♥️ I love that you’re discovering the Slavic culture thanks to your husband! ☺️ and ahh you’re gonna love my next shop update then because I might have already had the same thought! 👀😁
This is super helpful! Thank you...I even wrote all the questions and answers in my journal as I watched. Now I have some new art ideas I'm excited to try!
@@lucieell of course! Mostly that I want to be known as the Adventurous Painter who attracts other travelers and outdoor enthusiasts! So painting different places I've traveled to and labeling each painting with the location and painting the shape of all 50 states. Plus painting my adventurous hobbies like rock climbing, camping, and backpacking. Many of these I have not painted yet, but it's so obvious now. But even different potted plants for people who like to bring part of the great outdoors inside. It's broad enough that I won't get tired of it or run out of ideas, but also niche enough to attract very specific people...hopefully! 🤣Thanks again!
Hi, I just discovered you, and I can’t say enough that this video came in such a good timing in my life. I have always seen myself as a multi-passionate creative. So niching down was very hard for me until NOW that you mentioned such great points that I feel I could niche as well. I love the way you told your story in this video, and the examples are convincing enough for me to niche down finally, because I need to grow as an artist. For the other passions that I have, I could possibly do them as a hobby and not a job. Thank you so much for being an angel in my life, and I just followed your Instagram and subscribed to RUclips. ❤❤
Hi, thank you so much for the heartfelt comment, reading it made me so happy! ♥️ I am so glad this video helped you in that regard, and I hope you find the perfect niche that will make you happy and let you grow as an artist! 🥰
What a beautiful and incredibly informative video Lucie! Your art definitely helps me connect back to my Slavic roots and reminds me of my childhood and summers in Poland 💛 I can’t wait to see what work you’ll conjure up next!
Thank you so much dear Alicja!! ♥️ I’m so glad we can bond over the same Slavic experiences, and that my art reminds you of Poland 🥹 that’s the biggest compliment you can give me, it means I’m doing what I set myself to do right hehe! 😁
Honestly i think of: think if it will get bored is an way to turn it bored... so lets stop thinking about "boring" and enjoy what your present brings to you? I started learning these days what motivates me, senshou no ie, meaning enjoy every bit of an act, an thing you do, enjoy what you do and love to do it. I got inspired by your art and loved all you showed here,i feel cozy looking for it,i love your style 😮😊 also remember the wolfwalkers movie "forest" part Im here thanks to your art that cativated me ofcourse,i have so many ideas but i cant do a single one in just one day (i love to sculpt in 3D), so maybe oneday i can sculpt fast to bring many ideas for life, i really loved all tips you gave here,i will be back someday when i get to sell something😅 Thank you
Thank you for this video. It is really helpful. I needed to hear something like this. Beacause I felt lost in my art too. And your tips are very helpful. And also your Slavic illustrations are so beautiful. I love your style. And I am super happy that here in Czech republic we have such a wonderful artist.:)❤❤
I think this is one of the most informative niche videos I've found so far. Thank you for sharing your process and I love how your art captures the feeling of cosiness
Great tips and points. I have been looking for artist niche video for a while. I've had a hard time figuring out what "problem" my art could solve, but you're right, it could be as simple as wanting good art on your walls or stickers in your planner.
You’re very welcome! ☺️ hmm, I used to be obsessed with the thought of having a distinct style, but I slowly stopped thinking about it as much because I don’t think it’s the most important thing! However, having a niche will help you with style as well! Otherwise, I would just ask myself what I love about other people’s art, what are my favorite art pieces and why, find links between the answers and try to implement what I found out in my work process. But make sure to take from many various artists, also outside of your primary media (you can be inspired by ceramics or abstract art if you’re an illustrator!). As far as learning anatomy goes, the biggest leap I noticed was when I stopped being afraid of drawing full body illustrations! 😄 I always found anatomy studies quite boring so I never stuck with them for a longer period of time, but when I decided to make pieces that included full body illustrations, I had to study the poses I wanted to draw, I took my own references to better understand them, I spent time perfecting them, and that helped a lot! I of course made many mistakes, but learned with every new piece. I hope this helps! ♥️
Very insightful! Curious though... what are your thoughts when certain niches start fading away? I have a friend who built her niche surrounding a specific video game, but the fandom has been slowly disappearing.
Hmm, I personally wouldn’t build my niche around a certain fandom if I planned to sell my art because there are usually issues with copyright. If the fandom is disappearing, and your friend is maybe starting to losing interest in the game too, this is the perfect time to look into a niche again! A great place to start would be to look into what she liked about the videogame in the first place: was it a fantasy setting with lots of various supernatural beings? Was it story driven and had lots of interesting characters? Did it have a certain aesthetic? Would there be a way to continue making art around what was great about the game without specifically drawing characters and scenes from it, and finding people who would appreciate such art? ♥️
I feel so cozy watching this. I'm honestly so glad you found your niche, because you made me love and appreciate our country and customs more. I think I was losing the whimsy and magical feeling in my life. Too detached and too in the modern world. And your art pulled me back to my childhood. It really feels like home, like you said. And now I can't imagine going back, I seek out these little pieces of history every day. 🤍🍄 I finally realized my niche only recently, but it made so much sense to me, when I wrote it down. I have been kind of creating in that mindset for a while. 🤗
Ahh Kyle, this is the biggest complimemt and exactly the reason why I do what I do, thank you so much for sharing that!! 🥹 I am so happy my art could bring you back to your childhood! ♥️ and how amazing that you found your niche, I imagine it must have been a great feeling when it all clicked together! 😁
@@lucieell not just bring me back, it basically changed my outlook on the world and reminded me of my priorities in life. For that I'm very grateful 🥺🤍 And yea when it clicked it was like the mind expand meme 🤣🤣
This was so informational to listen to. My only issue with trying to be specific is that I have many things I am really interested in! 😭😭
