    Struggling between a Stingray and SR505E. Looking to get a Massive Attack sound - their bass player uses a single humbucker Sterling Stingray. But playing the SR505E/SR500E in the store, they feel so good. Thoughts.

    Sterling was my favorite. What was it you did not like from the SUB? Was it only the sound or something else? I plan buying a SUB5 and buy a replacement alnico pickup from Seymour Duncan.

    Ibanez has all the dough and expertise to be number one - yet, they dont seem to strive for being the best and focus on entry level gear. The new stuff is VERY impressive - yet the headstock logo, makes ya hold your head in shame - they need a fresh re-start - a name change for their high-end stuff.... might help

      What they need is to make necks that aren't toothpicks. I had an SR 750 and it was excellent but eventually I couldn't stand the neck because it was just too damn thin. That's the only thing keeping me from getting another Ibanez

    For the EB, a P Bass is also just 1 humbucker. It's just two smaller ones wired in series.

    • @fela001
      @fela001 Год назад

      Yes P pickup is a humbucker but there's a big difference from a dual coil MM style humbucker.. Every note you pluck, in Dual coils, the signal is picked up by TWO coils and added to each other.. While for a P pickup, it's only a single coil that picks up the signal.. That makes a big diff in the sound

    I'm owner of a RB streamer standard 5 fretless....passive version, not produced. It's not perfect, not the best wood etc...I own other basses more expensive...and for some reasons I can explain, the RB is my favourite, the neck it's so confortable, in the mix this bass sounds sooooo good, I play it each day. I have a another fretless ( cost around 2500 € ) ...but I still prefer the rockbass. It's a good review again, but in my opinion, the sound of a bass played alone it's not enough to be representative of the potential. It would be great if we can hear all those basses played in a mix. Nice job anyway. Thanks.

    I would have killed to start my journey long ago with such a bass (Wick), instead like many I started with a pawn shop bass of which I have no clue what it was. ha
    The Wick, Marcus Miller, Fender stood out to me and would make epic starter basses for a young musician.

      Warwick's master luthier pronounces it as "WARWICK".

    • @xneurianx
      @xneurianx 4 года назад +3

      @@TheBassChannel Okay, but Warwick is a middle-English word meaning "dwellings by the weir", it's an English surname and English town and isn't a word that appears in German. And in the UK it is pronounced WORRICK.
      I guess it's like Studio Ghibli. The word Ghibli in any other context has a soft G (i.e. Jibli) but in the context of the studio it is pronounced with a hard G (i.e. Gibli).
      Just that being British I cringe every time anyone says War-Wick. Sounds so horribly wrong to my ears.

      Funny, here in Warwick, Rhode Island, we say Warrick! Then again a car is called cah, and lobster is lobsta. Oh well.
