That doesn’t really make sense. They wanted to steal the truck. Why would they burn it? They had to have had their own vehicle to transport those bodies. They wanted to keep the truck. Makes no sense zero.
My guess would be that the suspects initially wanted the truck or it’s tires and when the victims intervened or refused, they got murdered. The suspects likely used that truck to transport the victims into the well 4 miles away. Then the suspects may have have panicked and set the truck aflame in an attempt to burn any evidence inside.
