Hi all. Mark here. I wanted to make a pinned comment to remind folks that whilst we don't mind constructive criticism, or people disagreeing with player choices/actions, we will *never* tolerate people being hostile, mean-spirited, or outright rude to our players (or me I guess) and such comments will be removed and offenders banned from posting.
Agreed, difference of opinion is common, but hostility and rudeness should be quenched asap.

Its great that trott has singlehandedly managed to have the group add "ie" or "y" to the end of words with zero persuading. He's just done it that much.
Its Also a known psychological phenomenon called "mirroring". When you like someone you subconsciously start mimicking their behaviours. This means that the group subconsciously is starting to accept and like the Lucius character... It's heartwarming to know that these effects are valid even for fictional characters... 😉
You subconsciously do this with friends, family, and even on dates etc.
Trott's rp of Lucius is just gold. That being said, Mark's rp of Trott rping Lucius is also gold

Hah, i knew the invitation was a setup, but i thought it was to Brookstone doing something against Rosalind or the smith. Totally didn't expect those Remnant guys. Though, i suspected they hunt the girl. I'm happy Brookstone isn't THAT bad.

Everyone is talking about Mark leaving us hanging. I'm freaking out about how focused and lethal Lucius became when someone took his little surrogate sorcerer sister

so far i'm really happy to say i'm enjoying this series so much.
Trott is, as always carrying the series with his experience and hilarious RP moments. His linkup with the other characters helps out a lot in moments where it could otherwise be quite dull. I think Lucius can only grow into a fantastic character.
Tom is playing the role of the sort of cautious leader who people seem to look to for the final say a lot of the time but Quill has been a good voice of reason so far.
Kim i'm so glad to say has made a rather enjoyable character in Nova. She still has some of her characteristics from the first dnd series, in which sadly a lot of people... myself included didn't like Jiutou at all and was generally quite a hard character to like but she's made me laugh a lot in Aerois!
Rhiannon is a wonderful smiley addition to the team and for someone who is completely new to dnd has contributed excellently! I think she just need to be brought into the conversation a bit more by the others.
Katie has been missing for a number of episodes, which is a shame and hopefully she'll be back to join the gang regularly too but has had flashes of funny moments and seems to be keeping people in line when they get a little too silly :P
Mark you've really outdone yourself with the world building and wonderful characters in this one. Your range of accents is very impressive too ;D
all in all i'm loving this campaign and please guys keep it up! :D
I agree they need to try and bring Sentry into the conversation more. Loving this campaign though
@@skeletalarkeus5728 Yeah, I think she is a shy person in general, plus being new to the system (which she picked up rather quickly and when she does RP it is quite on point!) AND being filmed--that's a lot of pressure! Trott has always carried High Rollers and I think this is the episode where I was like "yep, they've clicked. I'm invested now" and I love it!

I know you all did this five years ago but I'm only just finding it, and it's wonderful! If you'd have told me a few months ago that watching people play dungeons and dragons would make me cry I wouldn't have believed it. Thank you, and I can't wait to see the rest of this world and story!

@@valasafantastic1055 You can be omnivorous but not eat birds nor meat. He could be OK with fish and insects alongside fruits and vegetables, that would make him omnivorous, and that is a fair diet for several types of bird. Also, being a sentient bird, it's logical that he hates eggs as food.

Nice catch! That sounds very plausible. Even if true that doesn't necessarily mean Brett is evil (not implying you said that). He's a family first guy and could have had his family threatened if he didn't cooperate.
True, typical family first guy as you said, fueled by his troubled past, he would do everything not to lose his family again, even if that means helping in kidnapping and (potential) murder...especially if it's about some strangers that appeared a few days ago.

So I started this after catching up with your Curse of Strahd campaign - this has been great background noise, with some good character moments, but this episode? I am now PAYING ATTENTION! I can't believe I only have 60 episodes to catch up on (i got caught up on CR in less than 2 months so 60 episodes is not a lot) and i really can't wait to be able to join you live. I have really enjoyed seeing how everyone is getting into character slowly, forming a group so naturally it's just *chefs kiss* - Mark you're awesome!
Absolutely fantastic campaign and content in every way possible. Loved it since the beginning. But I love heavy sided stories, and this has been my favorite episode so far. Love seeing Quill take a more serious tone

Turning a powerfully magical blacksmith's hammer into a trinket that lets you cast Scorching Ray once per day - at the cost of reducing the damage of a Hexblade's weapon seems... insane to me. I get that Nova would want to feed her sword any kind of magic she came across if it asked her to, but I feel like it's foolish for the others to agree to this. It kinda just seems really wrong to "eat" a magical tool that has so much possible utility, not to mention value in terms of trade.
Don't worry rhiannon, echo is a familiar, you can bring him back

Omgosh I forgot they died!! Nooooo!!!! I’m rewatching and you made me f*cking cry again mark! Not fair 😢
Valla is just reminding me more and more of my current DND character Scarlett. Upon the party's adventures, they were helping a group of people against some danger. Meanwhile, my character stopped and decided to rest after all the previous events, the worst decision ever, as she then decided to keep exploring..... to which She bumped into a past party member (Dms character) who had gone missing, her protector. He had been possessed and actually kidnapped her, taking her to her half-brother.... making her dissapear from her party as eventually, she was kidnapped by her half-brother, and the possession over that party member dissolved, leaving him with guilt.... and finding the party to tell them how he had failed to protect her.
Long story short: Scarlett was kidnapped when left alone, and her protector had gone missing. Just like Valla got kidnapped when her protectors was killed. Scarlett has untapped magical powers bestowed by a Phoenix, Valla has unknown, possible sorcery magical powers. Scarlett is being hunted by her God parent Hades, (yes she is a demigod), Valla is being hunted by the court of shadows (maybe?) for some reason assuming she is special. Scarlett and Valla are both the youngest in the group, both with family non-existent (scarlett didnt know about her god parent..... her non-bioligcal parents got killed)....
The DM told me he got inspiration from High Rollers.... now i understand bahahah..... bad idea to watch now :P
So glad i'm so far behind... It wasnt their death that made me cry, it was lucious being so distraught about failing them...

At this point I think the number of episodes with the full crew is LESS then the number of episodes with players missing
Yea it's a bit distracting or messes with immersion just a bit. But since most of them seem to be aila it isn't too bad (since it's 1 player, not rotating. I'm not dissing her)
I like how Sentry is finding her voice a lil bit. I get it, you start off with DND on a live stream and you don't know what the protocol is ... people are talking and then doing things and there are like 5 different dice but you've only ever seen one of them before and you're thinking "does a dice really need 20 sides!?"
But then you get people are just saying random shit, although when somebody says "so tell me about you and your history or how you work?" and you're like "I'VE GOT NO FUCKING IDEA" lmao
But she's getting it, she will be rocking it soon enough
Agreed, I’v played a few RP games, but I’m still relatively new. So seeing a new player on a live stream, wow! She’s holding her own and she’s learning fast. There is a lot happening with sheets, RP, keeping notes, learning the mystery of each background... it’s a lot. Mark has done an amazing job of detailing the world.
@@OurFamilyGame honestly, I wish they'd just have a few practise encounters off stream, so she knows how shit works.
So much more smooth when somebody goes through 10 or so battles with you. Then you get the rhythm of hit dice and then damage dice.
Rather than people having to watch over her while she stumbles on a live stream.
Like I said though, shes doing well.

It's a Shadar-Kai Shadow Dancer from Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes. It has to be: spiked chain, tall, grey skin, *literal shadow dancer* . I may be wrong, so don't mark my words. I'm guessing it's from the Court of Shadows, and I'm totally open to debate and discussion. Please share your thoughts!
