Sorry about the flickering everyone. We (us playing) weren't aware of it until half way through and there wasn't much Steve could do till the break where he managed to calm it down a bit. This isn't to out usual standard and I am deeply sorry for that. The issue causing it has been fixed I believe.

I love Mark's southern accents. I live in the south and hear all sorts accents from the people I know. He does a good job in my opinion. It also makes me feel less silly when I run a game and try out my British accents.

As someone from America (Texas) I've always wondered how British people felt about Americans imitating their accents while role-playing. Here, I've had the opportunity to experience the reverse for myself.

@@maebasinger1407 I mostly just get caught up musing about the nature of accents/dialects. It's a little funny, it's like every accent had to make some hard choices about when they were gonna pronounce the letter R. Mark overemphasizes it a little but It's still pretty close, better than I'd do at a British accent.

And Aila uses lightning magic with her hammer, and Lucius can use Ice magic, and storms are cold like that...
I figured, something to do with Radiance and Storms, so i landed at *Radiant Tempest* .
It certainly is catchy.

It'll be a crying shame when Arvel has to leave the party. I honestly think that his character's been developed well enough for him to be a recurring character (or possibly Mark's player character hint hint)
Mark, can I just say: as an American, and as a DM who sucks at accents, you do a VERY good American accent when you actually try. I mean, the southern accent is fun and all, but when you are actually trying to do a "regular" American accent, you do a very good job.
Makes me feel guilty for how I butcher your accent when I try it. Forgive me.
As someone from the south his Southern accents are way over the top and terrible, but I find them fun. I think weather an accent is bad or not your players will pick up on it and it helps build their immersion. I love a bad accent or sound effect to nothing!

I'm from Spain and having chorizo and similar foods as rations seems pretty normal to me. Alongside with bread and cheese, it's has been more used than jerky in Medieval times around here if I'm not mistaken.

Hi, new here, veteran player, 25 minutes into this particular vid. You guys just left Rosehall. That had a general store. Which you visited. And talk about renting horses and wagons came up. Why are you trying to do all the shopping in a _much smaller town_? Gods. I'm not sure how much this is just the players acting like their low-level and not-world-wise characters would but it makes me weep a little. Otherwise, I LOVE this damn campaign, I listen to it podcast style while I work from home and it'll obvs keep me going for a while! I hope we meet Lucius' daddy at least once, he sounds super fun. XD

Agreed. Something I've noticed us that player characters have trouble retreating. Even when its clear that nothing will he lost by leaving and they can always come back when their sttonger. I theorize that the 'I'm not leaving' mentality is leafy over from playing linear videogames, where players are only really taken out of impossible or overly difficult situations by cutscenes and the like.
Kim knows better than to mess with animated armors at level 3 by now.
@@ryanphillips4123 True... Except the campaign moves on and no one ever remembers to go back. At least I've never seen anyone go back to anything.
@@asherandai1000 A good dm can prevent the story from moveing foward to quickly, there for allowing the party an appropriate chance to make the session to go back or not. As for the players forgetting, DnD is a game usually played once a week, if that. If you don't take good notes while you play your doing it wrong.

I've only played in two different games but all the members thought to bring travel equipment. I can only assume that these characters love being miserable. LOL

It was mindless slaughter that could’ve been easily avoided had the European powers at the time tried to properly negotiate)

I'm fairly certain she is. Npcs usually gain XP like players while doing stuff with them, and I think last campaign he mentioned other npcs levelling up
I believe so too, when I DM any NPC's that were part of an experience gain their fair share as well. I'm just wondering if mark has any a little extra tidbits for us. There's never any guarantee that one DM will make the same ruling as another.
I give npcs helping my party xp too. I think its pretty normal unless you don't plan on an npc being it it long enough for it to matter
I don't take XP away from the players, but yes, Arval and Valla both are "progressing" along with them, the more they are involved in things. Their progression is slower and I never give NPCs full "classes" they usually just gain hit dice and additional spells/abilities.
Also Aila was great.
I think Tom needs to put more research into how birds/aarakocra work because every time somebody asks him something about his biology or behaviour he just says like “I guess...?”
I found it particularly odd that the go-to for Tom's aarakocra waking up in the morning was the sound of a pleasant mobile phone alarm, and not a pleasant bird chorus...like...are we that disconnected from nature? makes me sad.

Are they aware of the breath holding rules for dnd or is Mark using different rules, because with most of them, they have enough CON to be able to breath for a decent while. Qilek could hold his for 2 minutes, and most of them can hold their breath the same or longer.
some times i think they are geting a bit to wraped up in the RPing which is not something i ever thought i'd say. it is funny as heck an i love it but its also milddly infuriating when they forget the basics or when mark has to prod them along to get the story going ahead.
Is this campaign world published in any form?! Id love to get my hands on a campaign book from this world!
