Ultimecia teaming up with Garland is almost poetic. They are both stuck in time loops of their own making.

Honestly I think if they have another Strangers of Paradise origins game where it’s about different antagonists of the FF franchise, I think Ultimecia would be a perfect addition. She specifically has an ambiguous past that has yet to be revealed and I think it would be interesting to see how it plays out
There’s also the relation between Ultimecia and her knights(seifer/garland). Dissidia is full of these little nods to the original source, it’s a shame NT ruined it.
Having been a fan of the franchise since 1998, and seeing this game being marketed in the late 2000's was a full circle kinda moment in my life.

They knew what they were doing with having her say that

I love that you can actually see him turn around right before too. The fact that we can't see his face beneath the helmet really just sells his "wtf" reaction that much more and I love it.

She already did an amazing Final boss in her own game, she totally deserve to be in future games
Kinda wish we have like a whole collection of FF villains to fight as superbosses tbh! Its a lot more exciting than "bring back org13 members AGAIN and have you fight them in a dark arena AGAIN
@lowhp_comic The KH games deserved more FF superbosses than just Sephiroth. Those are good fights and we all know his theme is beyond iconic, but FF had other fantastic villians.

I'm gonna be honest: One thing about Squall's fight cutscene in particular has always irked me - If you pay attention, the positions of Squall and Ultimecia keep shifting around between camera cuts, and it throws me off so much.
1:48 - Squall's Blasting Zone is clearly aimed up the walkway at Ultimecia's last position before time is stopped.
1:50 - Camera cuts, and Squall is now facing directly across the gap in the spiral to Ultimecia's new position, before she flips the camera with Time Compression.
1:56 - Camera cut, and it's back to before, aimed on the walkway before Ultimecia has even taken a step.
2:20 - It's honestly not too bad here once time starts moving again, and Blasting Zone actually comes down. Squall hops around a bit, dodging and slashing arrows (You'd think at least *some* would hit him, though...), but at least it's somewhat more consistent, right up to when he shows how much of a badass he is with the Fated Circle finisher.
I realize I'm nit-picking. I still love the encounter, and Squall's a great character. It just feels like the scene is brought down a bit by the jarring inconsistency, and I'm only sharing my little critique because I love this game so much. Booyaka/10

I vaguely like the bloom effect, but also think it's too much in vanilla. Kinda wish there was like a half bloom or baby bloom mode lol
