Val!! What is this. 2 videos in a week!! I live for your capsule wordrobe videos. I live New Zealand and it helps me get organized for the next season. If you're getting bored with your content. I would love to see your vege garden that you've talked about. But also I love peoples day in the life etc. I'm a busy mum of 4 and my down time is watching RUclips.
Your white pants remind me of the white painter’s pants that we wore back in the 1970s. I forgot about them until I saw your video. They were very different than the bell bottomed jeans we normally wore. I think we wore them mostly with flannel shirts and work boots. 😆
Nice to see you back😊❤ Regarding fast fashion...In overall consumption problem I think it's more important to be mindfull of your purchases and not to overconsume but to be realistic regarding your budget, time, possibilities, offer...
So glad you are back - I always enjoy your videos! I have clothing from Old Navy that are natural fibers and that I have had for 5+ years, so I would call that sustainable. If you love them and wear them, then do just that - don't go looking for new ones that are from a more "sustainable" company - I think the whole point of sustainability is keeping and wearing what you already have. That said, this past year was really bad for me as far as buying - I over purchased clothing just because it was from a thrift store and/or on sale and that's not good. I'm trying to get to the root of it, but find that most of it I just buy for the thrill and don't actually wear - so, my goal is to start wearing all these clothes and see what I actually like and then try to resell the rest. Ahhh...it's going to be a challenge, but I feel like I have so many clothes now that I wouldn't need to buy anything for years, so something has to change.
It’s great that you found your puffer jacket second hand. My late husband bought one for me from the charity shop about twelve years ago. It’s about to have its zip replaced for the second time but apart from that, it’s in good condition despite being worn very often.
Hi Val, all my clothes are “new to Me” charity shops as they are called in the Uk. But, now’s here’s the thing, I bought too much and justify the buying as they were not new, but all natural fibres. In the process of decluttering not only clothes but all the our home! Mammoth task, started, a couple of years ago, but has been slower due to ill health, hoping for a productive year, this year. Only just found and commented on your last video today, so happy you are back, you have been missed. Suze. 🤗x
I bought 15 items last year. Yes, I keep track of all clothing, shoe, accessories purchased. Then I do a review at the beginning of a new year. It keeps me accountable! Although I wanted to do a low buy year again last year, it was not. I set goals for replacements of old/worn out items. They were expensive items like: swimsuit, raincoat. So I should have those items for a long time. 🤞 Another low buy-intended year this year. Again, with goals written down. (Some rolled over from last year.) Yes, everything is more expensive! My focus is on quality, fabric composition and 100% Yes on an item.
Love this. Each piece is well thought through 💐💜 I am working on simplifying my wadrove, buying slowly, and being more thoughtful. You always provide inspiration for that, as always, thank you and best regards 🥀 Miss. Lilly 🥀
I think many of us struggle with wanting to quit the fast fashion after looking at the landfills. And also see that we cannot always afford to get what we need second hand or from from higher end brands. So it is back to the sales and whichever company will deliver the soft cotton and the lowered price. I probably shop from three categories. The things that I do find on Posh that are quality at a great price. The things I get on sale anywhere that will finally give me the perfect shape and color. And those things may be from Gap, Athleta or Mango. Or they are items I find on sale at Macy's, Garnet Hill, Quince, Everlane or Free People. I am getting stubborn about buying less and really nailing it on colors in my palette and quality fibers.
Well done! I’m aiming at a low buy year. So far I have bought a 75% wool coat from a charity shop, it was only £7! (Perhaps they didn’t read the label. ) I love it but it’s rained nearly every day so I haven’t worn it much. Last year I spent nearly £500 but that included coats and shoes which bumped it up.
Yay!! 😍 i’ve been wondering why you haven’t popped up in my feed. I even went looking to make sure RUclips didn’t unsubscribe me. What a lovely surprise.
I spend and purchased WAY too much but planning a low buy this year only 12 items (doesn't matter if its new or secondhand) I think buying from Zara, and Old navy is not that bad if you only buying 1 or 2 items and keeping your stuff for years (I have Old navy corduroy pants from 10years ago and still holding strong)
even if you're buying some fast fashion; you aren't letting the pieces go to waste. only 10 new items in an entire year is commendable! if i'm right, i purchased 14 new items last year... not including activewear! that may have been one of my bigger years all time. a combination of finally filling gaps, as well as having the budget to do so.
I completely agree with you. I will buy at what technically would be “fast fashion” companies like H&M because it’s close to me and I’m able to find 100% linen, 100% cotton, I’ve been able to buy even 100% silk and 100% cashmere and wool from there as well. Rebuilding your wardrobe to natural fibres is expensive and I am not ashamed to admit some of those items are from H&M. I used to feel guilty about it, but I don’t anymore. Because like you “Slow Fashion” is these items lasting the test of time and we’re wearing them for 5+ years and when it does live out, it’s life and goes maybe to a landfill. We know that our cotton shirt is not gonna be sitting there for hundreds of years!! 🫥
Glad you are back 🩷🌸

I liked this video before even watching it, because I missed you. Thanks for the new upload 🫶🏼

I just bought some jeans at old navy because I gained weight and needed bigger jeans. I like their 99% cotton 1%elastane jeans.
Dear Val I am happy you make videos again❤
thank you!

Love the pieces you got.

it sounds like we have the same shopping philosophy!
I don’t even want to think about how much I spent on clothes last year! 😢😅You done so well! I’m now inspired to spend less😊
I know what you mean! it can definitely be a rude awakening when we start tracking our purchases! 😅
Great purchases :) I love your style so I’m so happy you’re back :) my second style inspiration is Laura Bradshaw with her comfy and colorful style.

I love finding nice coats at the thrift stores!
All so cute! I have a striped tee just like that and it’s my most worn summer tee! 😍 amazing thrift find on the jacket!
Yay!! 😍 i’ve been wondering why you haven’t popped up in my feed. I even went looking to make sure RUclips didn’t unsubscribe me. What a lovely surprise.
Yes I’m back! I posted a video last week too 😊
Love the coat and the dress looks so nice on you.
Thanks Grace!
Where is your pink sweater from? :)

Thank you!

14 items is really good too!
✨✨✨
I think all your items show a good eye for things that have good shape and style. I make more mistakes than you!!!
yeah shopping in thrift stores is really tricky sometimes! very easy to overbuy without noticing it 😅

yes, I like your thoughts on this!
Dude I must be at a sloth 🦥 fashion pace!
In 2024 I bought 4 bras. About $100.
In 2023 2 pairs of jeans and underwear. I was gifted two sweaters.
