I literally went, "VAL!" when I saw you on my home screen. haha. So glad to see you again, and if you take another long break, no problem, I'll be happy to see you whenever you pop back up. :D. It's completely understandable that some of RUclips had lost its luster, and I think it was a good move that you felt that and went on to fill your time instead with meaningful, fulfilling alternate activities! Good luck on the low-buy this year - I think these are all doable intentions. :D
great video! not only is everything very expensive but the quality is ABSOLUTE CRAP ! it's so easy for me to do a no buy because it's just so unappealing to shop
I'm glad you're back. I would love to hear anything going on in your life. Show us your gardening, your home, your wardrobe, your area. It's all interesting and enjoyable.
So nice to see you here. 1. I agree- it’s not normal to expect instant gratification from Amazon. We all use it, but consciously trying to buy local is also my focus. Or, join gifting (donation) communities - Buy Nothing, Gifting with Integrity, Free Cycle. Ask for something or give something you no longer need. 2. We are so glad that you’re tuned into yourself and your family’s needs. Thanks for sharing this update. Protect yourself from pressures. Choose joy.
WELCOME BAAACK!!!🥳🙌🏼 Very excited to see more videos of all the things you said...and sewing too! Thanks for explaining the break and for returning! You were very missed!🤗🥰
It is so wonderful to see you again! I’ve been thinking of you often and hope you and your family are doing so well! These are all wonderful reasons to have not been filming; your family is your priority and I’m so delighted to see that you did not feel the pressure to keep up here and rather put your children’s needs first. Not seeing a lot of this these days, so it’s quite refreshing! I would love to see more about your garden and other topics than just clothing and style, if you feel so inclined to film them! The Amazon shopping is a big one. We also got rather caught up in it over the holidays and my kids were getting used to being able to have things quickly that we didn’t even truly need so much. I have also put a stop to this for a while and decided instead to do more in person shopping to support our local businesses and even just stores in general, which is supporting local peoples’ jobs too . I have three different lists on the fridge that we your right things we need to get from the store next time we go. This enables us to really check if we actually need the item and teaches my children patients rather than instant gratification. As adults even, we need to re-teach ourselves I think. I usually don’t end up getting everything I put on that list and it’s actually helped me to save money! Just waiting until there are a certain number of items before we go or waiting for that weekly or bi monthly trip.
Hi Ashlynn! The list on the fridge idea is a really good one! And yes the Amazon addiction is real. I needed toothpaste the other day and the itch to just order it to come the next day was so strong! Thankfully my husband was going out to run some errands so he picked some up. 😅
I’m so glad you’re back! Greetings from the Isle of Wight, England, and best wishes to your beautiful black cat from my own beautiful black cat, Bluebell.
So good to see you back, can't wait for your new content! As someone who's trying to create content on Instagram I definitely understand the struggle with the algorithm... I love creating things online, but actually getting people to see your posts is something I just can't figure out!
Awe! This totally made my day! Welcome back!!!! 🎉🎉🎉I relate to so much of what you’re saying! Ordering on Amazon and getting that burst of instant gratification is something we’re trying to limit as well. It’s shocking how quickly we got used to this kind of thing! And I’m so glad you had a nice break and coming back to it! I recorded my first video yesterday after years and it felt so so good to create! B roll takes so much time and effort - I am inspired by you and how you edit so beautifully! Happy Monday!!!! Love the new direction you’re taking with your channel - looking forward to your next video!
Thanks Vicky!! Yes, Broll takes so long sometimes! I'm trying to figure out a way to make editing easier this time around.. will let you know if I find the secret 😁
Welcome back! I was happy to see that you'd posted a video today, and immediately checked in to see what you'd been up to. Keeping a balance in your life is always worthwhile. Will look forward to hearing more about the low buy, cooking and gardening.
Welcome back! I’m glad you had a nice break! Your future video topic plans sound great! Maybe one to add would be how you maintain your home and life. I appreciate how you prioritize your family and self, and look forward to learning from you. 💖
Yes I plan for a low buy year. Mainly it's the clothes in my case. Haven't bought any newly produced clothes for a while, but I do second hand shopping still😅 my plan is to not give up!
Glad you’re back Val! I’ve missed you! Keep making your videos, I love them. Especially, how to make better use of my clothes. I’m trying to cut back on spending for clothes. ❤❤❤
Oh my goodness Val….its so good to see you back again! I was starting to get a bit worried about you and your family. I hope all is well. I’m so excited and looking forward to new upcoming videos!😊❤
I was so excited to see that you had a new video! You are one of my favorite creators, and this message about doing a low buy year really resonates. I love the part about being more sustainable. Thank you for sharing this!
Thank you! Your insights into the stress of being a creative on here are appreciated. Hopefully you'll be rewarded for your efforts and can prove that good content can be about sharing the ordinary, quiet, relatable concerns of our everyday lives. ❤
I have been doing a low buy since October, but after looking in depth at my 2024 spending on Jan 1st I made my rules much more strict! I have been doing really well with my low buy so far. So glad that you are doing one as well! I feel a lot of hope for the planet seeing how many people are being more careful with their consumption and teaching our kids to do the same.
so happy to see a new video from youuu💗 also I’m planning to start a garden this year and I love hearing book recs so whatever you shift this channel toward, I’ll be there!
Hi Val. I’d love for you to take us along on your No Buy journey, with videos about your life (and some fashion along the way). Looking forward to whatever you have in store for us in 2025 😊
Happy New Year 2025! Personally, I am not doing a low buy, but I started to note every single purchase in a little notebook, to assess where my money is going and from this, try to be more intentional :)
Great inspiring video Val! I’m excited for you and all the topics you want to share. I’d love to see videos on your gardening, cooking, home, etc. Share whatever you want.
I was so happy to see you post! Yes, saving is a must for myself and it will be for my home as well💜and stepping back from consumerism and the different ways it affects a home and the finances should be in everyone's mind💐 I look forward to the changes you have in mind, I feel it is real life and of course your thoughts on the wadrove is what we all relate to in your chanel 💜 I wish you have a new year full of inspiration and joy, as you were taking your break I would watch your prior videos as I was trying to focus on sustainability and thoughts behind my wadrove. I understand the algorithm is hard, but I want you to know how your content is valuable to many, like myself💐 a grounding page for reflection and awareness, as always best, regards 🥀 Miss. Lilly 🥀
Val! So happy to see you, I have been looking out for you since you last posted, and here you are! Happy to watch what ever you film, interested in all that you mentioned. So happy to see you back, Suze. 🤗x
I’m so glad to see you again. Great topic too, thank you. I’m doing a low buy year definitely. 🎉I’ve got plenty of clothes. Gratitude is powerful, and home cooking is cheaper and healthier. But treats are good too.
Girl?? I just found your channel yesterday. And I saw you haven't posted in 10 months. And I thought. Did she give up, or maybe life got in the way. And I thought to myself. I'm gonna subscribe anyway, and I hope she doesn't give up and comes back one day. Sobhanallah, you came back the next day!!!!❤ welcome back. Idk why I'm so happy for you. I just am. And I'm not really a fashion person. I came from the " how much youtube paid me video." I'm just genuinely happy for you, sister. I hope all is well with you.
Welcome back. Truly wonderful seeing your videos once more. May this New Year be a great one and we all look forward to your new content ❤ your fan from Cape Town, South Africa 🇿🇦
Welcome back. The best creators are the ones who love what they are talking about, so good to have a break, regroup, and come back stronger. It was great to see your name pop up, and Iook forward to your new content in the future. Good luck!
I missed your videos! I am also doing a 12 clothing items purchase limit this year. I'm curious will you exclude certain things from that number? For example I am debating whether to include items like socks/underwear/pajamas/gym shoes and also to whether to count thrifted items in that number, or just new pieces.
Hi and lovely to watch one of your videos again. Do you have companies like Green Chef, Mindful Chef, Simply Cook in Canada where these companies deliver a box of ingredients with recipe cards to your home each week? I started a weekly delivery during the 2020 pandemic because I wanted to cook from scratch more often, be a bit more adventurous in my cooking and try new things. The boxes can seem expensive but the amounts are very generous and they definitely help you to stop wanting to eat out or get in take-away. 2025 and I am still getting a box of 3 meals each week.
Yes looking to buy less. But also looking to nail it and get the pants I really love and will live in rather than having 6 pairs that are not really comfy.
