Mexican Pizza's and Enchiritos were the only things I actually liked eating at Taco Bell. Are we even sure that the "Ground Beef" at Taco Bell is actually ground beef?
When I was a kid, going to Taco Bell was a treat in the afternoon time. They'd be cooking fresh ground beef in a massive pot with their seasoning mix and it would smell AWESOME. Today's ground beef is a "powdered Mix" that they add water to and heat up. If it has dehydrated beef, I guess they can call it beef, but it definitely does not taste as good as the old days.
You can still get the double deckers. Just specifically ask for a crunchy taco and add a flour tortilla and beans wrapped around it. Sure the tortilla and the beans cost a little extra but that's how the double deckers are made.

If you want to call it a tostada-pizza, or a tostada-carne-nacho-dilla...or something like that...I know what you're getting at. But, a tostada is just one shell on the bottom, like one large single nacho...not layered with 2 layers of crunchy, with different stuff inside and on top.
missing one thing... Well two really, avocado chunks and queso fresca. Love the channel, great for inspired quick meals and twist on the traditional. Keep it up

Taco Bell inside the local mall by my house when I was a senior in high school in 1993 was my first job. Back then here in Missouri the mexican pizza's came with both diced tomatoes & green onions and 1 olive placed in the center then it would get placed in the steamer👍🏾
I worked at Taco Bell when it came out as the "Pizzaz" Pizza. it had 4 olives. One on each "slice" basically. The item with 1 olive was the Tostada. The Enchirito had 3. They were very specific about olive amounts back then and then took them completely out of the fixings for some reason. and then switched to freeze dried beans they use today.

Man the nacho bell grande used to come with jalapno and green onions. Now it's just a boring bag of beans.
@@denise76 and guacamole
They said they got rid of it because of the packaging causing a lot of environmental waste. They could put it in a plastic bag and I’d still eat that sh*t
9:20 Five finger fillet! Red Dead Redemption. You’re welcome!
They were selling a lot of the Caramel Apple Empanada... they took it off the menu. Apparently because it took too long to cook. I'll never forgive Taco Bell for removing it.
They took off just about everything I ate off the Taco Bell 🔔 menu. I loved the taco salad (that bowl was the best), caramel apple empanada, the naked chicken taco shells & nachos.
Those were always my favorite when I worked there because they would always have a bunch of extra at the end of the night 😂
They probably took it off the menu since they closed the dining area for covid. you cant eat that pizza in a car without ending up in a ditch.
@@nixter8739 The caramel apple empanada was a handheld apple pie. It also was taken off the menu well before Covid.
@@MisterKisk was it a hot pie? did they rake it off around the time mcdonalds got sued when the coffe spilled and burnt that ladys lap? Bean counters and lawyers ruin alot of good things.
That looks pretty tasty. I would’ve worked a little bit of cilantro in there somewhere, but using the chorizo with the beef was brilliant.
There are so many options too. A little Spanish rice in there would’ve been nice, maybe even some shredded lettuce to kind of lighten it up. Looks great.
That would've been a Ninja Turtles "Ninja Pizza" lol. If nobody understands that reference then I just showed my age 😂
Home of the nice slice

Pizza that vanish quickly and without trace.
Thanks for this! My favorite order from TB was a Mexican Pizza, Nachos Bell Grande, and a Chilito. I think they still have the Nachos on the menu (haven't been there in two years).....I can do the Chilito on my own, but was disappointed when they removed the Mexican Pizza. Thanks to you, I can do the Mexican Pizza at home too! :)
Idiots for getting rid of it. When they bring it back they better bring the Pizazz back with olives and green onions
I’ll certainly have to try a smaller version of this soon. That looks amazing!
The other day I was thinking this would be something I'd love to see you make, and here it is! So disappointed that Taco Bell discontinued it. At least I can make something better now.
Making this tonight but adding Cilantro, Avocado and home made salsa...

Yum! Don't forget the sour cream!
@@beautifulworld7567 I've been to that part of the world...believe me, most of the food can only be eaten by the locals unless you don't mind a little barf.
It's baaaack!!! The mexican pizza is back on the taco bell menu...
Subscribed. You all did a fantastic job creating a Mexican Pizza. Now I'm hungry for one. Time to break out the ingredients and go for it. Thanks for sharing. :)
That was the only thing I would get at Taco Bell if I ate there. RIP!
Complexity and time to assemble is one of the major reasons major fast food chains cut menu items. I use to love getting the Mexican pizza and the 7 layer burrito.
I’ve been making them for years using the shells from the store. It’s awesome!!
That looks so good and easy to make. Some pico degio, guacamole and sour cream.... yummy.
I have never even heard of this as a taco bell item. Sorry I missed it.
The Mexican Pizza was my absolute favorite! It was crispy, if you got a good one, but it didn’t have 10lbs of beans and meat.
Thank you Sam! I requested this to be made weeks ago and was ecstatic when it popped up Monday! Will be making it this weekend (smaller version, lol). I have recommended you to all my friends and now they are starting to make some of your dishes, as well. Thank you, you guys rock!!
The Mexican pizza was sooo good, and the only thing I would order from Taco Bell. Your version looks awesome 👏
@Nathan Taffijn The same with fast food pizza, (Pizza Hut, Dominos, etc.), native Italians laugh at American Pizza stores.
Eating a mexican pizza as I watch this, thank god they brought it back.
Yummy! Add some olives, avocado and sour cream throw some cheese onto the beans then add the meat, so have melted cheesiness going on... now I'm wanting some sort of good food to gorge upon
Agree!
Mexican Pizza's and Enchiritos were the only things I actually liked eating at Taco Bell.
Are we even sure that the "Ground Beef" at Taco Bell is actually ground beef?
As sure as the Tuna sub at Subway has real tuna.
🤣who cares! It is good!🤣😂🤣😂😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
@@jeffhamilton8907 That matches my taste experience
@@jeffhamilton8907 A decade ago it was precooked frozen and thawed/reheated in a sous vide type thing.
This just made my day!!! The Mexican Pizza and the Double Decker Taco were my favorite items. Thanks for honoring it!
I miss their refried beans. Never cared for their rice though.
Same here! I stopped eating there once they dropped the pizza and double decker tacos.
I love their chow mein!
You can still get the double deckers. Just specifically ask for a crunchy taco and add a flour tortilla and beans wrapped around it. Sure the tortilla and the beans cost a little extra but that's how the double deckers are made.
Double deckers and Chilitos!!!
Please can you tell me what kind of tortilla you used? Is that a flour tortilla or puff pastry tortilla.
Taco Bell Mexican Pizza is BACK!!!!! 4/21/22
I love how Sam says, we grind the meat & we're basically done... except the 6 other steps that we need to do. 🤣🤣
Max should make a bingo card with 25 of your most used ingredients and then we can play along while you cook. Thanks for the episode, it was a great one as usual.💯

“Finger Fillet” the stabbing between the fingers knife “game” as featured in the movie Alien 2. Forget it, Sam, you’re prone to cuts enough as it is!
We call it mumblety peg where im from
the game is called "mumbly-peg."
@@stevenwhitehead8468 I thought so, too. No, mumbley peg is a knife throwing/tossing game of various kinds of stunts…and jabbing quickly between the fingers isn’t one of them.

I'm disappointed you didnt make your own chorizo.
The look on his face when he bit it, PRICELESS. Thanks for the video.
I NEEDED this in my life!!!! Haven’t eaten at Taco Bell since it left the menu 😢
The Taco Bell Mexican pizza was, for me, a substitute for one I grew up having in S. Cali a million years ago. The place was called La Plaza and was in Fountain Valley. Theirs were huge like yours and amazing. The only things this one is missing are a few sliced black olives and a scoop of guac thrown on top after broiling. Thank you for taking me way back. I have to make this now. :)
The only recipe I've watched you make so far, but I'm now a subscriber! Looks excellent!!! 💯💥💫
The knife game you were referring to has many names, including Five Finger Fillet (FFF), Bishop, or just simply the knife game.

as a mexican, this is a tostada.
no, it's not....not really.

@@texas2far yes it is....no thanks
If you want to call it a tostada-pizza, or a tostada-carne-nacho-dilla...or something like that...I know what you're getting at. But, a tostada is just one shell on the bottom, like one large single nacho...not layered with 2 layers of crunchy, with different stuff inside and on top.
Chorizo and ground beef goes good on a torta for breakfast or lunch.
Sam, you have no idea how bad I'd want to see you make an authentic Spanish paella! Make it happen pops!!! 🤣😁🤤💜
missing one thing... Well two really, avocado chunks and queso fresca. Love the channel, great for inspired quick meals and twist on the traditional. Keep it up
One of the first things they took off the Taco Bell Mexican Pizza was the Black Olives. Then the Sour Cream and Guac. Any Mexican Pizza demands all of those, but this was great!
Exactly the Mexican pizza was just a nachos bell granda

Wish I could find the giant tortillas.
Don’t know why they took it off the menu. I thought it was pretty good.
I’m figuring that the flat, crispy, flour tortillas aren’t used on any other item, they wanted to trim down the menu.

Taco Bell inside the local mall by my house when I was a senior in high school in 1993 was my first job. Back then here in Missouri the mexican pizza's came with both diced tomatoes & green onions and 1 olive placed in the center then it would get placed in the steamer👍🏾
Yep, the steamer pizza oven. It would only take a few seconds to cook it.
Taco Bell never had a Mexican pizza like that! OMG, that looks fabulous.
This guy will still be obsessed with green onions long after Booker T has lost interest.
