Game Trailer: • War of The Worlds Game...
This gameplay clip shows the harvesting process, the machines dig up the dirt for fertilizing and spray human blood collected from captured humans. Eventually a red mist blankets the horizon. This is WIP pre-alpha gameplay so excuse the lag spikes here and there.
War of The Worlds Game is an indie game I've been developing for a little under a year based off the 2005 Steven Spielberg motion picture. It's a hardcore horror open world survival game which throws the player into the middle of the extermination of mankind with the sole purpose of surviving long enough to find a way to bring down the alien machines. Loot buildings, fight off hostile survivors, stay hidden from the machines, and stay alive. Explore the landscape with a wide variety of different environments and buildings with different resources to scavenge. How long will you survive?

I've been following this project, and it keeps getting better and better. The trailer showed a lot of promise. Though a little janky looking, it's still probably the most well made WotW games to ever be developed. Hats off, mate.
I remember before I found this game in development, there was a game that a developer made called "Grey Skyes" and well, it was BORING

I always thought a scenario like in War of the Worlds would be a really harrowing gaming experience. It's awesome to see this actually being done.

I just found this channel through a random youtube recommendation a couple days ago, and I've gotta say, not only am I impressed, I'm also really happy to see a game I have dreamed about ever since the War of the Worlds movie came about when I was just a kid. Never understood back then why game developers just didn't dive into the universe of the movie, there could have been great games made. I had lost all hope a couple years back, so this s a dream almost coming true (it will come true when it releases though!)
But I am also scared about the future of the project. The big industry, wether we are talking about games or movies, aren't to keen on fan-based games, and they tend to shut these projects off. I'm praying it doesn't happen to this one, so I can properly play it and have a childhood dream come true!
Whoever you, the developer, are, good luck with this game, and also any future endeavors you might take! You are really talented, don't let anyone else say otherwise. Cheers!

Wow you got the sound effect the animations basic things
There's something mesmerizing about giant alien mechs destroying stuff. And to top it off you mostly hide from them. Great work.

While I’ve never watched the War of the Worlds shows/movies and only read the book(s) I have to say this footage is promising and exciting

Question: Are there ganna be difficulties on how hard the game is ganna be. For example in hard mode where the tripods can spot you from a mile away.
Well so far in gameplay they seem to already do that, even if you’re a good distance away and not covered they’ll become alerted to you and blast you with their rays as soon as they do
If anything harder difficulties would make your hunger and etc go faster or just make the walkers spawn more often and travel faster

I think the game lacks something like smaller enemies or something smaller than tripods , it would definitely boost the game atmosphere

What effect would it even have? It was basically fertilizer nothing more, it wasn't like the War of the World's platformer game where they had the Red Weed actually be drawn to your body (as I think the lore of what the Red Weed did was different from iteration to iteration)

All of this looks absolutely amazing however one slight critique is the way the tripods walk. There is a specific way Spielberg wanted these tripods to walk.
