Random shower thought based on this game. What if this game happened. And all countries release their top secret vehicles and then the countries mistake each others to secret assets as other alien invaders 😝
When the lightning revealed the tripod it was terrifying. Like a noght time tornado you cant see until u get a flash of it by lightning. Ive seen videos of horrifying night twisters but this brought it to a whole new level.
I got super excited when I first saw it, I was watching older videos and was like there’s no way they could do the probe like the movie and they DID, I’m a huge fan of war of the worlds and I want to play this so bad
This looks INCREDIBLE! Suggestions: 1. Apart from red vines growing, more and more land needs to turn red like in that one horrific scene near the end of the movie. 2. Maybe some sort of footprints from tripods? There is currently no sign after a tripod has walked by, leaves the impression that they're very light 3. The 8:00 scene looks a little iffy imo, I think that's because the smoke and explosions are clearly visible through the fog, contrasting in a weird way 4. Gunshots from the vehicles sound a little weird when close up! Sounds like knocking, I literally turned around and looked at my door lmao Thank you for doing this for the community, this videogame has been a dream of mine ever since I saw the movie.
Key and Core Suggestion: Always ensure gameplay is fun and engaging first and foremost before devoting too much attention to visual fidelity; especially for things that may need to be changed later
@@jacoblag4315 yeah I thought about that but thought it would be very difficult to implement with the buildings being assets and not designed from the ground up by the dev team
21:00 Jesus Christ that is completely horrifying, I’m SO glad you added this feature, experiencing this would be indescribable, even the sounds are perfect!!
This looks great so far! I have a few pieces of feedback. 1) All super loud noises that you want a delay for depending on distance should have a delay set to 1 second per in-game mile. 2) (Probably already planned) As the days of the week go on, you see less and less military and other NPCs until on the final couple of days, where you are the final survivor. 3) Tripods should only notice your gunshots if there is not a louder audio source closer to them. For example, it wouldn't make sense for them to be engaging in a fight with the military and then you shoot someone a couple hundred yards away and they turn their attention towards you. Other than that, all I can really say so far is that for an in-dev/pre-alpha build, this is really shaping up well. Only real constructive criticism I have is probably something that you're already working on, which is a lot of the sound effects sound pretty low quality. But I'm just assuming they're placeholder.
Your criticisms are good. I agree, some tweaks here and there which like you said they probably already got a hold on. But I definitely agree with sounds, they definitely need some fixes.
Yeah, I mean, it's literally being attacked. I think a tripod would prioritize it's attackers first and foremost. If it's alone and not being attacked and hears a gunshot or loud noise, yes, it'd probably move to investigate and probably hunt down the person. Otherwise it'd probably ignore it, unless it's extremely close to it.
I personally disagree with the second one. I think that instead of the whole "lone survivor" trope, the game should eventually start spawning in new NPC's that could act as bandits or other survivors. Yeah, there will still be a lot of moments where you feel alone, but it'd be very unlikely that you specifically would be the last person on Earth.
I totally agree I’ll take something like this over the genre zombie stuff any day that stuff has been super milked to death but this concept is very very fresh and new and I love it But hey in the end of the day iam a big Megalophobia fan and I do love the WOTW movie so I can’t wait for this hell I would love a survival game like this with Godzilla size monsters of toho well aside from city shrouded in shadow and EDF that is. This guy with this game is making one of my dreams come true since WOTW 2005 I will say that.
12:50 I love how he got shook when the death machine looked his direction lol I got scared thinking he was about to get obliterated! This is quality content being created here folks
Seeing the Tripod annihilatie the military in the distance and then everything becoming quiet besides its engine sounds gives me that terrifying feeling i had when i first watched the movie as a kid long ago. Great work !
I don't know what you guys would think, but a detail that would be perfect for the red grass is that it has bioluminescence, that it shines an intense red color, so that the sky is dyed a bloody red tone. I say this because behind the scenes of the film, in the production design, they put red LED lights on some areas where there was red grass.
Also i would recommend adding tv or radio broadcasts in the early stages to keep you informed. they might not be on for long but it will also build the lore and immersion too.
The sounds from 12:50 to 14:00 are amazing, Just the lights from the tripod lunking towards you and the sounds making it really feel like you're there. The Probe segment was done fantastic aswell.
This game really drives home the horror of an alien invasion. Hiding in abandoned buildings, seeing the flashing light of the heat ray outside and knowing the danger is nearby.
@@waroftheworldsgame9026 dude this is amazing btw I highly doubt it this going to consoles I'm such a huge fan of the movie the Tripods look so detailed & everything You guys keep up the good work
11:20 I love the effect that when its complete darkness, the only visibility you have of the distant tripod is the silhouette from when its forcefield lights up. Genuinely looks terrifying.
At 20:37 I was literally just thinking, “hmm he should make it to where they prove the house and stuff” and WHAT DO YOU KNOW if this game ever becomes big and is released to consoles or something omg they would be my dream to play this. You are doing amazing work and please never stop I beg of you
7:31 had me going for a laugh ngl. Guy screams in terror at the tripod in the distance when he doesn't realize the true terror was right in front of him all along.
This was like my dream game (literally because i had a lot of nightmares about war of the worlds and being alone in a grey city and full of ashes of the dead, trying to survive) My only worry is copyrighted material from the movies I know War of the Worlds is public property now but the art, sounds and designs made for the movie are probably copyrighted Also, the humans look too big for their environment
@@Fanwithnblades Actually some of the sounds are from the movie, like the tripod sound effects and the main menu. I'm sure he'll change it though due to copyright.
Same here and there was 3 games one on the Ps1 based on the Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds never played it. and a online game for the 2005 movie I missed out on playing that one and there it grey skies I have seen the Playthrough its not a good game now this game looks awesome.
2:10 Seeing the tripod in the night storm is like seeing an eldricht abomination. That was cinematic as hell Another epic scene is at 13:52, the passage of the Tripod while is engaging the army is superb! You did a great and wonderful job, the updates are extremely good! This game will be a masterpiece!
A peeking feature would be pretty cool too, for example when the probe searches the houses you're in. It would be a cool feature where you can peek over counters around walls just to see where the probe is and it would be a cool detail.
War of the worlds is in my opinion one of the best horror films and books out there. And you captured that horror perfectly with that shot of lightning with the tripod in the distance. Looking forward to this game when it comes out
12:03 - 16:37 This entire sequence was incredible. Hiding in the house and watching the battle from afar, having to hide once you noticed the Tripod was coming your way and that amazing view of the battle at 13:53. Everything looked straight out of the movie itself.
Guess that's about it, the game is about playing civilian escaping the tripods rather than playing as the military fighting the tripods. Why not both? The graphics look dated
Maybe for dynamic purposes from time to time a tripod could be downed by the military? In the original books it happened a couple of times, not enough to make the game easier to to change the core gameplay but enough to make that a rare event that brings hope. Only for it to be squashed as there are too many tripods to deal with.
20:37 IT SHOULD BE SILENT, THAT SHIT WAS SO GOOD. Silence with various piano progressions if it gets close. (Silent as in, the probe makes minimal noise, maybe a slight humming if you get close enough.)
I'm very impressed with this game so far, my only real complaints at the moment are: 1 - the shield colours when being hit need to be a bit darker and the colour change needs to be a bit slower for people with epilepsy e.g. 13:53 2 - some of the explosion sounds can be a bit loud at times like at 8:0115:56 , it just seems a bit extra at times, but it would work very well when a tripod is destroyed 3 - I'm concerned about the clip in 7:24 , now idk if the tripod was turning in your direction because poor timing, but it was engaged by the military with missiles hitting its shield, why should it take notice of the random shotgun blast in the distance, aside from avenging that poor citizen. I don't think it should be that easy to alert by firing a gun. I can understand on later days when the military has been exhausted and the land is desolate with little to no people so making any noise is a potential risk, but it would just seem frustrating especially when its busy cleaning up the military. 4 - I do think there needs to be times where nothing is happening where there are no people, tripods or military, just the ambience. this would make it all the more rewarding after escaping hell from those tripods and would make the game less exhausting to play by balancing out those intense hide or die scenarios, it would also add to the uneasiness because you never know when they will come back until you hear that haunting tripod horn in the distance. 5 - My last concern is the tripod AI, my big worry is if the tripods will always stay within a large bubble around the players current position and can't wonder off , and it if prioritises you over other AI civilians, it would be annoying if it still tries to pursue you after escaping to a building, when its chasing a crowd of people that you were in. aside from that, the game looks Amazing, my favourite scenes being 2:07 , just because how ominous it looked , 9:05 just for the ambience , 13:01 the fear, 16:09 was awesome as hell, 21:00 is a nightmare scenario for me. please keep this up I made this comment because I really care about this game and want it the best it can be. your team has done so many cool thing like dynamic battles, the procedural red weed and making this dream game and I can't wait to see more from you guys.
War of the Worlds remains one of my favorite movies and this game, even in this very WIP state, manages to capture those eerie moments that captivated me in the film.
The probe going into the house is what completely sold me. I was really hoping that would be added into this game to make it more suspenseful when hiding from the tripods. Great work!
This looks amazing. One thing i'm really missing is the trumpet like sound the tripods made in the movies. (But i'm sure you're already aware of this). Keep up the good work! P.s. maybe give the heat rays a charge up animation / sound. So you can actually duck away or run for cover intgead of being aimbot noscoped :3 Definitely keeping on eye on this game
20:15 is chilling, it adds to the hellscape that the tripods create with their destruction. I would love to see bodies strung about in land and floating in the water like the scene from the movie. Maybe the more civilians the tripods kill, the more floating debris will clutter the air (clothes, ashes, etc.) like the movie? Also, will the red vine have any negative health benefits towards the player? I know that birds signify new tripods, but will they also signify a dying tripod as well? Maybe have some sort of “aging” effect on the tripods over a few days (grime, dirt, slower or irregular tripod movement) as well?
Looks really cool! My suggestion would be for when the military is fighting the tripods for there to be more close air support (A10s, apaches etc) US military heavily utilizes that stuff, and would especially against giant machines, perhaps even add effects of the depleted uranium munitions from a A10 or rockets from a Apache hitting the force field, it would create a crazy light show!
would be cool if your was like a nuke countdown that happens if you reach day 100 and everything dies then when you click retry you spawn as a soldier who survived somehow and everything starts to regrow so that the map won't just be a wasteland forever and tripods to come back to earth and start fighting again
I’m LOVING the use of sound and lighting you have going, especially sound. The sounds are the most memorable thing about the movie, and so far you’re really nailing it
I think what would help the atmosphere, would be adding more colorful clothes and stuff . I believe in the behind the scene features of the movie the production really looked in the wardrobe department to really signify that this is happening on American soil with American citizens. Which at the time the fashion was colorful and such. Also maybe each house just has photos of the dev team or friends of the dev team to add to the atmosphere of this horror happening in a suburban area . Also just piles of clothes everywhere scattered around. Just like the movie
I absolutely love war of the worlds, and the design of the tripods. It’s kinda sad there’s not much content with them, but you making this is amazing. This game looks like it’s gonna be great, and I’m really looking forward to its release. So basically thanks for doing this and keep up the good work!
I hope this one day comes to console! One thing I would love to see are radio broadcasts. News reports about the invasion from around the world, preachers proclaiming the End of Days, ham radio operators trying to reach someone, EAS tones, etc. That would be really chilling. Also recruiting and rescuing survivors.
Excuse me, for the survival mode can you please add the feature of events happening at certain times, for example, if a player survives to day 5 or something have the aliens start arriving or NPCs start to get more and more aggressive as the game goes on. I feel like that would make the game more realistic and give the player more of a challenge as the game goes on. Also makes you feel like there is impending doom and makes you want to embark across the world in order to find more of a safe place or to get more weapons. Just a thought.
Damn, more of 2:09 please, that is truly scary, and it makes it seem so tall as well, this idea that you just see the legs descending from the clouds or fog there is amazing.
This game looks absolutely incredible so far. Keep up the great work and let us know if there is anyway to help support the project. Been waiting for this game since I saw the movie many years ago!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
First of all congratulations, I can say that it exceeded my expectations, everything happens so organically and naturally, as if they were really scenes from the movie, I would like to make 2 requests if possible, the first is to have the possibility of the buildings being destroyed, thus increasing even more plus the feeling of danger as if no place is safe, the second is an animation of Tripod immobilizing a person and sucking their blood in the same way it happens in the movie (NOT MY BLOOD!) but anyway congrats man I'm excited for view more
@@waroftheworldsgame9026 The military does not know how to shoot at the legs of a tripod and retreat, seeing that their weapons do not work on them? And in reality, rockets and the explosion of a tank projectile on their shield should be heard very loudly, especially if it is a cruise missile
First off - brilliant progress! I have some recommendations that in my opinion would improve immersion and make you feel the same vibes as the movie - I personally still don't like the heat ray sound effect. I think it should sound more like thunder but if it was drawn out, and have an echo effect at the end of each blast. So the effect starts with a low frequency buzz and finishes with a thunderous echo across the land to signify the air being ripped apart by the ray. Military weapons need echo/long distance SFX adding (I'm sure you already working on that). Make sure there is an element of scripting to when and where military shows up, wouldn't want them to be there blasting at the tripods all the time, all over the map - there deffo needs to be moments in this game where you are alone with a tripod. Remember there is a delay in the military response since all their vehicles need to be repaired. NPC screams and dialogue currently does not sound very realistic and their presence is not immersive/scary - more needs to be done to make them human-like, to create that feeling of horror when they are being killed. The player damage sound effects/grunts feel a bit out of place. Try taking some inspiration from the Far cry franchise and 'The Forest' survival game to get good player breathing and grunting FX. I'd make sure the ambient SFX and lighting storms is random, allowing periods of complete silence. You want the player to feel totally alone at times to sell the vibe imo. It feels as thought the tripods are forever present, there is always one nearby getting shot at - I think that there needs to be much more moments without them there to build tension. You could also add a torch/candle light system to build tension. At night, while the moonlight provides a slight glow off silhouettes, to be able to see effectively the player must acquire a torch or lamp. But, of course, this would make them easier to spot - so they would have to make a choice when to use it. They will especially need it in houses when looking for loot, imagine the vibes of searching a dark house in silence with global illumination and other lighting effects present. I see you added a lamp - but I don't feel in the games current state you ever 'need' it. Wouldn't there only be 1 tentacle present if the tripod was just harvesting 1 person (the player)? You'd oy have loads of them hanging out if it was having a buffet of people! also the tentacles seem really fat, in the movie they are pretty thin, guessing around 15cm in diameter, and from a distance you can only see the blue lights at the end of each tentacle, moving around like a swarm of bees - that Sh*t is scary and definitely needs to be in this game!. Incredible how you got the search probe working so well! Already very creepy! Might be hard to do well - but you could give it objects/ rooms of interest that it would spend longer periods 'starring' at? Would sell the fact that these are creatures with 'personality'. From a gameplay perspective, perhaps there should be some kind of warning that a tripod is charging it's heatrays, since it's such an accurate and deadly weapon, the players only chance to survive a tripod targeting them is to have the chance to run for cover?
Thanks for the feedback! All of this is already done or on my task list! Thanks for taking the time to make suggestions and provide feedback to make the game better!
@@waroftheworldsgame9026 Awh I'm chuffed to hear it! Will continue to give feedback as I love speilbergs wotw and I have been terrorised by it as a child. If you have time, check my comment for edits as I have added a few extra points. But more importantly keep doing what you are doing! It's going great!
I think it would be neat if each type of container had its own opening sound, so that you don't hear metallic noises when looting a dead NPC or wood noises when opening a fridge
Couple suggestions, first one being that the red weeds should A. Be torn away when opening a door covered in it and B. Block doors from opening at all once it grows past a certain point, requiring the player to cut or burn it to get through. Also, it would be a good touch for the probes to forcefully bust through doors and windows instead of just clipping through them. Little things like that.
Wishlisted. Absolutely incredible work man, really looking forward to release. Honestly, I didn't have much in the way of expectations for this game, but the second I saw it probe through the building looking for you, I was legitimately impressed. Good stuff m8, looking forward to release.
i feel like adding the ability to turn the lights on his houses and the ability to lock the doors creates a sense of mild security and homelike environment that can help protect u and make u feel safe from other survivors but you kinda begin to realise it wont do anything against a tripod and creates a deeper fear of them.
This looks amazing! The tripods are so well-made. So well animated im amazed this is so good. The map needs a little work but other than that everything is really good. The tripods are absolutely terrifying. I will 100% play this when it comes out. Keep up the good work!
This is genuinely one of the coolest things I've seen in my life, thank you SO MUCH for making this. I'm buying this straight up the moment it releases, keep up the amazing work! My only critique is that some of the volumes of sounds seem like they need to be tweaked/adjusted a bit, but my god this is stellar so far!
Guys, I have no words to describe the emotion for the great work you have done and also the gratitude for having taken the time to read the contributions that each one of us has made. thanks guys, you are great, the best.
I love how the fights between the military and the tripods are so natural feeling it doesn’t feel like they just spawnt in but were travelling and and engage eachother I’d love to see the the battles escalate with artillery batteries airstrikes and tanks n gunships engaging them
I have been watching War of the Worlds (2005) for the first time ever since I was a kid. I felt terrified at that time but I loved the movie. After they made a TV Show, I was hoping for something new, so here you're making a game about it. I'm so excited! I can't wait for this game to come out. Keep up the good work! Seeing a game like this as an open world is perfect! It gives that feeling of knowing you are in the world for survival while the Tripods are invading your planet, if you had to fight back or just hide, it's terrifying and awesome. I'm definitely gonna do gameplay after this game release.
LOVE the updates and how everything is being developed! This game is definitely on my To Play List. I only have one suggestion, something that may or may not already be done or a work in progress. To add more depth and variety to the search event. If a Tripod notices a human (AI or player) enter a building during a fight, once it finishes the military, it probes the building. Could also increase the length of the search because it KNOWS someone has gone in that particular building. Maybe it searches the entirety of the structure and then moves on if it doesn't find anything; maybe searches nearby building with decreased length. Might be cool if it sends the aliens down to search as well if it knows someone has gone into a particular structure. Also, would be interesting to see minor destruction when it comes to structures. Unless the game wasn't built with that in mind. It isn't necessary, but would definitely add a scare factor. Imagine searching a building and suddenly a tripods leg casually takes a piece of the building out. I will edit this if any other ideas come to mind before another development video comes out. Keep up the great work!
A good improvement for when they're going through the buildings searching is to have environmental obstacles that you have to avoid, for example put some bottles on the edge of cupboards so that when you knock it or loot it the bottle rolls off and alerts the aliens, or some broken glass on the floor blocking a route to hide from the aliens, just a thought to make hiding more tense
All I can say is wow, I honestly thought this would be another dead end project, but I was severely wrong. As someone who has developed games himself, this is fantastic! The amount of work you’ve put into it amazes me, getting the probe to work and the vines to grow.. that must have taken so long. I can’t even imagine the amount of time you’re putting into this, it’s actually incredible. I’m blown away, so excited to see what updates come next! Great work so far!
This looks amazing 😻I am definitely getting this game when it comes out keep up the awesome work. The 2005 War of the Worlds is one of my favorite movies. 2:11 looked so good.
Unlike other fan games, this menu actually has detail, and the graphics. It really puts you into the position of Ray. Great job, I am exited when the game comes out on steam.
Ths game has amazing potential, here are some things i think that would make the game great: Volumetric fog. This would make everything so much more atmospheric at night and really lift the lighting up Better lighting. Lighting, for a game like this, is SO important. The lighting you have going is already pretty good, but please if you are going to work on the graphics, focus on lighting! consistent model style. I do not know how big your team is, but if you have enough 3d modelers, get a consistent model style going, so that stuff doenst look out of place, and overall everything just feels alot more grounded that way. im not saying do some stylized cartoon crap, but a consistent polycount and good colors via textures are important procedural animation for the tripod! This is also important in my opinion, and would make the tripod all that more epic. With HUGE models like that, normal animation doenst cut it, as there are tons of elevation changes across the map. Procedural animation would allow the "head" to move up and down, left and right at all sorts of tilts and angles, while keeping the legs grounded and working perfectly with the mesh. Right now, it seems as its very static, and moves slowly like a tank
I think the night lighting on everything can be darker too as the land can’t be illuminated like that unless there’s a full moon out. It would really add an ominous feeling not being able to see everything in a pitch black night
This looks awesome! I do feel like the sounds need a bit more work but i am especially impressed by the probe going through the building. That was absolutely spot on!
I'm really excited for this game! I've always wanted a game where the threat seems realistic and doesn't prioritize the player. The tripods are also true to the 2005 versions.
This is very cool, I like how the trees break when the tripod move through them. Alough I think the shield should cover the whole tripod as at the moment the feet are vulnerable to attack. Also It would be cool if a tripod would occasionally destroy a building that it thought a survivor was in. It would also be cool if you could come across random encounters with NPCs (that is NPCs looting killing or arguing with each other) that would react to you intervening. It would also be cool if there was a certain houses on the map (as rare accations) where NPCs will offer shelter and food/water, wich could be a trap and a way for NPCs to loot and kill you (ambush you once your inside), but perhaps also help you ( as then it adds uncertainty as to who to trust).
This looks amazing. What i wanna ask is, if for example there is a big crowd of people and you break away from that crowd somewhere will the Tripod specifically target you or there is a chance it will just continue chasing the crowd? Would be pretty cool to survive a close call simply because there was a building nearby, and will we be able to hide inside of cars? Like pressing a button to get in without turning it on and just kinda hiding inside, that would be pretty cool.
This is how game development should be. Show fans what is being worked on, see what constructive feedback can help, and keep people updated on progress. I bet this game will do well

When the lightning revealed the tripod it was terrifying. Like a noght time tornado you cant see until u get a flash of it by lightning. Ive seen videos of horrifying night twisters but this brought it to a whole new level.
You’ve really captured the most terrifying aspect of the film: that you’re not safe anywhere. Even if you think you found adequate shelter.
The segment where the Tripod probe was investigating rooms in the house is REALLY technically impressive.
I bet that was not easy to code.
Its extremely suspenseful

2. Maybe some sort of footprints from tripods? There is currently no sign after a tripod has walked by, leaves the impression that they're very light

THE DETAILLL!
Yep.
This sounds really nice and could also be included as bug patches
This actually looks *incredible* can't wait for the full release!
This is a perfect concept for a survival game, that's for sure.
I dreamed of this since I was little, I’m all for this!!!!
I totally agree I’ll take something like this over the genre zombie stuff any day that stuff has been super milked to death but this concept is very very fresh and new and I love it
But hey in the end of the day iam a big Megalophobia fan and I do love the WOTW movie so I can’t wait for this hell I would love a survival game like this with Godzilla size monsters of toho well aside from city shrouded in shadow and EDF that is.

Seeing the Tripod annihilatie the military in the distance and then everything becoming quiet besides its engine sounds gives me that terrifying feeling i had when i first watched the movie as a kid long ago. Great work !
You
Want see my video
I don't know what you guys would think, but a detail that would be perfect for the red grass is that it has bioluminescence, that it shines an intense red color, so that the sky is dyed a bloody red tone. I say this because behind the scenes of the film, in the production design, they put red LED lights on some areas where there was red grass.
That'll create a nice atmosphere for the game to.
YES!!!!!!
THAT actually could be considered when you get like 10-20 ingame days to justify that the tripods are using people's blood like they did on the movie!
A really cool feature would be distant tripod horns that actually come from wandering tripods so you know not to go a certain way
Also one last little is make nights darker
That’s already implemented
@@waroftheworldsgame9026 dude this is amazing btw I highly doubt it this going to consoles I'm such a huge fan of the movie the Tripods look so detailed & everything You guys keep up the good work

So how do you defeat them? By running up close and coughing?
Just the other day I was thinking how great of a setting War of the Worlds would be for a survival game. And here we are! Looks awesome!
You manifested it into your reality
11:20 I love the effect that when its complete darkness, the only visibility you have of the distant tripod is the silhouette from when its forcefield lights up. Genuinely looks terrifying.

Another epic scene is at 13:52, the passage of the Tripod while is engaging the army is superb!
You did a great and wonderful job, the updates are extremely good! This game will be a masterpiece!
Oh god yeah I was blown away

When the tripod started heading toward him, I was like "get away from the windows dude."
So good to see this many new features!
Thanks Kit!
I'm very impressed with this game so far, my only real complaints at the moment are:
1 - the shield colours when being hit need to be a bit darker and the colour change needs to be a bit slower for people with epilepsy e.g. 13:53
2 - some of the explosion sounds can be a bit loud at times like at 8:01 15:56 , it just seems a bit extra at times, but it would work very well when a tripod is destroyed
3 - I'm concerned about the clip in 7:24 , now idk if the tripod was turning in your direction because poor timing, but it was engaged by the military with missiles hitting its shield, why should it take notice of the random shotgun blast in the distance, aside from avenging that poor citizen.

Maybe read the book it’s even better
The probe going into the house is what completely sold me. I was really hoping that would be added into this game to make it more suspenseful when hiding from the tripods. Great work!
This looks amazing. One thing i'm really missing is the trumpet like sound the tripods made in the movies. (But i'm sure you're already aware of this). Keep up the good work!

They already make the sound lol, it’s more prevalent in earlier videos
20:59 Fuck my life. That is absolutely terrifying, this will trigger some ancient ptsd in me.

Just like the movie
i agree
This is honestly the game i have always wanted. Its looking really good.

First of all congratulations, I can say that it exceeded my expectations, everything happens so organically and naturally, as if they were really scenes from the movie, I would like to make 2 requests if possible, the first is to have the possibility of the buildings being destroyed, thus increasing even more plus the feeling of danger as if no place is safe, the second is an animation of Tripod immobilizing a person and sucking their blood in the same way it happens in the movie (NOT MY BLOOD!) but anyway congrats man I'm excited for view more
This is all planned! Thanks!!
I have some recommendations that in my opinion would improve immersion and make you feel the same vibes as the movie -
I personally still don't like the heat ray sound effect.
I also love how you even added like it’s healthbar
this is so cool! The iconic horn the ambience. As one guy said the lighting did look a little odd around 8:00.The train on fire too! *chefs kiss*
The fire is pretty realistic btw. Great job to the team

Watching this progress with these updates make me more and more excited. Keep up the amazing work!
We needs robbers/hostile humans as well, and I wouldnt mind seeing the aliens themselves
The fact that the military can’t do a thing makes it more scary just like the movie I love it
All I can say is wow,
I honestly thought this would be another dead end project, but I was severely wrong.

Dude you got me hooked and WAITING please finish
Unlike other fan games, this menu actually has detail, and the graphics. It really puts you into the position of Ray. Great job, I am exited when the game comes out on steam.
Ths game has amazing potential, here are some things i think that would make the game great:
Volumetric fog. This would make everything so much more atmospheric at night and really lift the lighting up
Better lighting. Lighting, for a game like this, is SO important. The lighting you have going is already pretty good, but please if you are going to work on the graphics, focus on lighting!
consistent model style. I do not know how big your team is, but if you have enough 3d modelers, get a consistent model style going, so that stuff doenst look out of place, and overall everything just feels alot more grounded that way. im not saying do some stylized cartoon crap, but a consistent polycount and good colors via textures are important
procedural animation for the tripod!
@@blushdog And the only light source would be a tripod
That would be great, how the light would be some kind of adversary
Oh my goodness, they brought the probes back too.
This is gonna be terrifying.
17:03 :o this part is so terrifying!,, i love it!
17:29 look at this the way a lot she looks at you Gah dang my anxiety
@@Kyonfilmsanimations8606yeah i used to have nightmares about that
This looks amazing.
I bet this game will do well
I watched the movie in cinema when I was about 8 years old and it both fascinitated and lowkey traumatized me. Ever since then the movie had a very special place in my heart and I have wished for a game that is EXACTLY like this. Thank you so much for making this!
