Thanks so much for this. It helped me immensely to get started with mine! Some additional tips for those getting started: - Ask whoever you're buying your brass set from to drill a threaded M4 (4mm) hole in the centre of the T-slot holder that comes with any new lettering set - Also make sure you have a threaded M4 bar / rod that's 3-4cm long to fix the T-slot holder in place on the machine, as shown in the video. Most I found on eBay were 5cm long and I had to cut off the excess with a hacksaw. An M4 rod (4mm wide) fits perfectly in the U-slot that the machine has in the heating plate. I think an M5 would fit as well, but probably quite snugly. Don't forget to buy a washer and a wing nut to tighten too!

Thank you!! I was looking all over the place for a demonstration of a good way to align the letters consistently. Your template trick is brilliant! I’ll have to get my hands on some of that mounting board
Thank you for this tutorial. I have watched so many on this machine and not gotten the information out of them for the questions I had about it. Your videos are so informative, by not speaking on it with the machine next to you. I have now subscribed so I can watch more of your videos to learn from your experience. I also have Lupus so my hands go through cycles of not working so well. So your video messages and honesty helps to keep my spirit up that it can be done if you just make a process that works for yourself. Thank you again 😊
Hello. Thank you for your kind words. I'm pleased you found the video helpful and that it answered your questions. I had to look up Lupus, as I hadn't heard of it. That sounds like a challenging condition and I can see how this would affect your hands. Best of luck and keep making the effort - It's better to keep going with your hobbies than to give in to your condition. Geordie.

*Works perfectly for my use as a heated press **MyBest.Tools** Space between the ram jack and the base is a little tight. Make sure you set the ram jack arm so that it's in a position for you to get maximum leverage on whatever you're pressing. Hi, thank you so much for your very helpful video. Could you tell me where I can get a set of brass alphabet stamps for this machine please. Many thanks Chris Harker
Hi Geordie ! Great video !! The way you explain is so clear !!! I bought one of these machines but I’m having trouble to stamp on textured or embossed leather, do you have any suggestion? Thank you !!!
Hi. It sounds like you may not be applying enough pressure. As I say in the video - You need to experiment on some scraps of the leather in your project and try different temperatures, time and amount of pressure applied. I hope this helps.
Hello Geordie! Thank you for the inspirational video! What size press board do you use? Maybe you already said it in the video, but I'm just asking because my English is not that good. Looking forward to your reply! Have a nice day!

Thanks so much for this. It helped me immensely to get started with mine!
Some additional tips for those getting started:
- Ask whoever you're buying your brass set from to drill a threaded M4 (4mm) hole in the centre of the T-slot holder that comes with any new lettering set
- Also make sure you have a threaded M4 bar / rod that's 3-4cm long to fix the T-slot holder in place on the machine, as shown in the video.
Good advice. Thanks for sharing.

Aww you seem such a nice chap and at the same time a comedy king - haha laughed my a** off when you were talking about the Chinese temperature accuracy 😂😂. Thanks for the super helpful 40 minutes!!
Glad you enjoyed
Celsius vs Fahrenheit
Great video, you probably should be able to set an offset on the temp by changing the p1 values in the settings.
Thanks for the tip!
Awesome timing! I literally just got this machine in the mail today!
Have fun!
are you still using this machine and how good is it? iv just ordered one so I'm hoping it will last a while.
@@daveblue4303 It gets the job done. Its imprecise but once you figure out your specific settings, you'll be fine
@@dawgyv72 ok cool, thanks for your quick reply 👍🏼

@@HobbyBloxs may i ask, do you recommend embossing BEFORE or AFTER applying conditioners like fiebing's 'Aussie leather conditioner' or 'resolene'? Thanks again.
I always emboss before. The finish will then get into the folds of the emboss and create nice shadows in the piece.
This is so helpful, thank you so much. You explain everything so well, now I actually have the courage to buy one and play around with it. :)
Glad it was helpful!
What a terrific video! I so love your style of presenting.
I came here from another video that deals with a hot foil press and I highly appreciate your in-depth explanations. A huge Thank You!

Glad you enjoyed it!
Hello, great video. I use several brass stamps but none have the bolt attachment or thread. Is there another way to fix the brass stamp to the unit? Thanks
Hi I believe you can use heat-resistant double-sided tape. I've never used it but might be worth googling!
Wowww
You’re amazing thank you so much
You helped me
You’re welcome 😊
You are an incredible help! Thank you so much for your time spent on this video and for showing an inexpensive machine and such invaluable tips on how to line the things up. I will be having dog collars made by my leathersmith but would love to finish them with embossing - with your template tip, I may give it a go, as the collars do lie flat. Thank you!
You're very welcome!
Thanks for taking the time to do such a detailed tutorial, it's taught me a lot! I've liked and subscribed!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for this video. Your tips are so helpful. I have a similar machine 😚

Great tutorial, Thank you so much...
Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice tutorial - thanks - One thing is that the IR Thermometer will give very inaccurate results from a shiny surface :)

Thanks for sharing your knowledge! I've been enjoying your videos. Could you tell me please what font that is and what size?
Hello Nightowl. This video was made a long time ago, so I don't remember the font. But the size was 6mm.
Love the video Geordie, watching it from Chile! I wish you happiness and health

Hi, thank you so much for your very helpful video. Could you tell me where I can get a set of brass alphabet stamps for this machine please. Many thanks
Chris Harker
Hi. There is a link in the description.
Can you stamp and leave an impression with patent leather using this machine or will it burn the clear coat on the patent?
I've never done this, so I cannot comment.
wonderful work, thanks for sharing.
Thank you! Cheers!
Wonderful video Mr Geordie Leather. Many thanks for sharing this. Love the mounting board Jig. Best wishes Sir!
Thank you! Cheers!
Geordie Leather thank you!
Sir, I am hot stamping foil machine Operater.
Hello Geordie!
Thank you for the inspirational video! What size press board do you use? Maybe you already said it in the video, but I'm just asking because my English is not that good.
Looking forward to your reply!
Have a nice day!
140cm x 160cm.
Wonderful tutorials! Really enjoy them :)
Glad you like them!
