Thank you for the series of how-to’s with your Tysew machine. Is maintenance difficult on this model, oiling and suchlike? Perhaps a video? Keep up the good work. All the best Alex

I've been trimming cars for many years including ten exclusively with Rolls-Royce/Bentley and never once have I used basting tape. It's not needed on straight lines and wont hold around curves. I'm sure it may work for some tasks but general upholstery isn't one and it's better to learn how to avoid using it. The same applies to guides that may have some uses but are generally a pain that just get in the way.

Hi I need some advice. I need to purchase a cylinder arm sewing with a flatbed attachment capable of sewing through thick leather, vinyl, canvas etc. Unfortunately I can’t afford a new machine can you assist me?
Thank you. this series has been brilliant. i am really interested in buying a tysew machine. I could buy a 10 year old mark 5 or possibly scratch together enough to buy a 3600C-1. I would really appreciate any advice. Thank youo
Hi ya, I know Geordie Leather guy is away with some health issues, which we all send our thoughts 😢 Did you get a machine? I’m currently itching to buy the 3600C-1. The mark V looks very similar and I was wondering what was different on them but I can’t find much. I went to Tysew yesterday and briefly test drove the 3600C-1, it was lovely but the first ever industrial I ever ever touched so I have nothing to compare it to
Love your videos. My bottom stitching never looks as good as the the top stitching but yours does. How do I make that happen. I wish I had known about your videos when I first got my machines.I have a juki flat bed and a cylinder arm. Thankyou
G'day! It's great to watch and learn these techniques now that I have my cylinder arm machine, I can follow things step by step. Is there a particular way of starting a backstitch? Mine come out like rats-nests on the underside and I've started them needle up, needle down, needle half-way, etc. The only good-looking backstitch I can manage is to turn my piece 180degrees.... Cheers! Chris

Great video thanks. That guide for going round bends looks really useful. Trying to do slow neat bends can send me round the bends at times🤪

Hi Jim. Yes, you are right. A battery-powered iron is also a good way to do this. Thanks for your input.

Hi. It's all about the tension. You need to keep adjusting it - as shown in the video - to get the stitch perfect on both sides.
