Thank you so much for this video - I have followed your instructions & installed the same set-up on the table for a 246 machine. It’s working well! Thank you again!
Great video, thanks a million. We are in the process to buy the machine now. Would you be so kind to send new links for the pulleys? Apparently, the ones on the description are not working. Appreciate in advance.
Thanks Geordie! Great tutorial and explanations! I just discovered the channel today,( I’m new to industrial sewing machines) but exactly what I was trying to figure out! Cheers mate!
I have watched about five of these speed reduction videos and this was the best of the lot..I did buy a 550W brushless servo for my singer 45K which did reduce the speed greatly from the 2800rpm clutch motor ,but it does not have enough torque to push through think leather.I am told the reduction pulley will fix that problem.. Thanks Gordie for sharing in clear detail how this is achieved.
Very good, love the temper in you voice. I have found you because I decided after years of sewing on my Brothers WF, I needed it to be slower. I am going to first reduce the pulley size on the motor from 2.75 in to 1.75 in. This will be 75% of the original. I don't think that will be enough. If not, your set up will give a better result. I saw another similar to yours that was mounted on the table leg with both pulleys on the end of the shaft, easer to remove belt.(although don't think removing the belt would be a concern.
Hi there, great videos! I just purchased this exact sewing machine from Tysew. I’m wanting to make this exact speed reducer but I can’t seem to open any of the link in the bio. Would you be able to suggest places I can buy these parts to make the pulley system.
Just purchased a servo motor from Amazon, they also sell a 45 mm pully that you can put on the servo motor for $8.99 US. That might get you where you need to be.
Really enjoy your very instructive videos. Thanks for posting them. Quick question. What is the synchro thing on the balance wheel? What does it do? And does this machine come with one from the supplier. Quick question is really 3. Sorry
What I did was put a wood block under the pedal I have a juki 5550 and it goes so fast. So when I step on it it only goes so far . Don't no if that will hurt the motor in the long run . I will gear it down if you think the would be better
Hi, useful video, thank you. Could you tell me where to get a ready-made speed reducer for this machine please? Plus, does it matter which servo motor to use?
These videos are so useful. Unfortunately the machine I purchased from the UK came with a 12mm shaft on the motor so it's proving difficult to find pulleys. Looking forward to the needle and thread video very much! Are there different naming conventions/sizes for the same needles and thread in the EU and the UK?
Hi. Thanks for your comment. With my method, there is no need to change the pully on the motor, you're just adding two additional pulleys which can be 15mm shaft. Yes there are different naming conventions around the world for both needles and threads. I will cover this in part 3.

Hi. Great video, very useful. I’m doing the same mod on my highlead machine. Is there an easy way to determine what belt lengths I’ll need before I’ve bought the pulleys? Also I notice you used a 110mm large pulley but stated it was a 135mm, I’m assuming you meant to say 110mm? Thanks again.
Hi. If you are a whiz at maths, then there probably is a way. But, like most folk, you'll have to wait until you have your pulleys and measure the distance with a piece of string to calculate the belt lengths. Yes, I meant to say 110mm.
I have a singer 491 and finished fine tuning it. I am noticing that the reverse will work for longer stitch lengths. 6-8 but then the feed dogs will be in a stationery position and material doesn’t move. I a don’t know if this is normal for industrial machines or not
Geordie can you help please? I bought this machine for my bag making. The machine on its slowest speed is still too fast when top stitching my bags. My husband doesn’t have the tools to convert it for me. Do you know how I can find a company that will come to my home and install a speed reducer for me? I just can’t find anyone here in Buckinghamshire.
Take the clutch off the motor , lightly sand the flywheel and deglaze the cork clutch plate with a brass wire brush then blow any dust off, put it back together. You will be able to go as slow as you want without losing any high speed. It costs nothing. Cheers
Hi, my brother db2 722 has suddenly started sewing at very slow speed; not sure why. I did get fabric stuck in bobbin area which I had to cut out. Please help.

The installed picture looks like this: There is no speed deceleration on the 135mm pulleys installed from the motor pulleys. (Is the diameter of the 135mm pulley longer than the motor pulley?) And speed deceleration appears in the part connected to the sewing machine pulley at the installed 45mm. Is the speed reduced by a third here?

For the belt length use any of the free online v belt length calculators much better than string
Thanks for the vids, super helpful. The links seem to be broken, though? Is your website still live?
Exactly what I needed. Thank you very much.
Hello Kathy. Thanks. I'm pleased you found it useful.
Amazing video thank you
Any suggestions on proper belt tension, thanks Alot
Generally, a 1cm flex at the mid-point is considered the ideal for belt tension.
Just purchased a servo motor from Amazon, they also sell a 45 mm pully that you can put on the servo motor for $8.99 US. That might get you where you need to be.
Thanks for the info.
No, it's not the same. Trust me, I tried both things. And a speed reducer is much better ans slower than only a 45mm pulley on the motor.
Thank you.
Get video!!! Where to get that 2 fully setup inusa? Thx
great tuto great you! bravo you convince me! with your system:device is it possible to obtain step by step speed?
Yes. Once the reducing system is fitted you just press the pedal very gently and the machine will stitch one stitch at a time.

It just keeps the rhythm of the stroke of the needle. It comes with the machine.

Hi Geordie, thank yoy for such useful video. I live in the UK and was looking for pre-tapped pulleys, where can you get hold of them?
I bought mine from eBay.
@@HobbyBloxs Thanks for response. I ended up 3d printing my own pulley and it works like a charm!
@@jarosawkus1976 can you share the files for the pulley?
I recently bought a pfaff
A good choice.
Just bought a Tysew TY-3600CB-1 machine .Any chance you can tell me where to get the pully set for this machine
could i use this machine to sew bags without slowing down
No. You can't control the stitch when the speed is too high.

Please, why not simply replace the pulley on the servo motor with a smaller pulley? I came across a video which someone did exactly that.
Hi Gordie, I am in Canada. Where can I buy the pulley system in either Canada or the US? I am not handy at all and the link is not working.
Great video...I would like to buy a new motor but i am confused between a 550w and 750w...which one is better to slow down?

Speed reducer
Can I reduce the speed on a Tysew 3600? I am finding it too fast when top stitching. Thank you
did you move the bottom pulley on the motor to the right

These machines were all built to serve a purpose and clutch motors are perfectly usable and just about 100% reliable.
