- Albert Wesker Resident Evil's Perfect Villain - (Albert Wesker Explained), So here in this video we're going to be talking about Albert Wesker how he could have played the perfect Villain in the resident evil universe.
As we watch him become this superhuman being in resident evil 5 and how he was part of the wesker project which also included alex wesker.
Also we'll discuss his roles from the many different games in the RE universe, which includes Resident Evil , Resident evil Code Veronica, Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles, and to Resident Evil 5.
We also discuss some of his psyche and grandiose mentality and how he thinks he could be a god.

Wesker started as a clever and conniving villain. He evolved into a comic book villain. (Chris made a comment about this during their final battle)
May I also add that chris also became similar, especially with that boulder punching moment.

Wesker died because villains never win. In a real world scenario he would've snapped Chris's neck and went threw with his master plan.
FACTS.
Sometimes they win but yeah, most of the time, they don’t win. Lots of villains lose. They’re supposed to lose. Lex Luthor and other supervillains lose to Superman.
Green Goblin, Doc Ock, Carnage, and others lose to Spider-Man.
Joker, Riddler, and others lose to Batman.
Dr. Sivana, Mr. Mind, and Black Adam and others lose to Shazam.
Loki loses to Thor. So of course Wesker loses.

I think it was a weskar clone that died seeing how he was messing around with clones when Ada killed her clone.
He carried RE5 on his back and did a pretty good job of tying the overall story together. Real shame they killed him off when they did.

Capcom never should have killed Wesker. They can never replace him as a villain, he's too iconic.
I think the problem is Resident Evil isn't like Mario or Sonic with a loose, "cartoon" continuity. It follows a hard chronology, characters age, factions rise and fall, and the landscape of the story is always changing. At a certain point, I feel like Wesker would be overstaying his welcome.
It's true, it'll be hard for a new villain to reach the same iconic status as Wesker, but I always feel like if we got the whole bullet-dodging-kung-fu-trenchcoat-sunglasses schtick for three more games, it would start to get stale and same-y. Better for his role in RE5 to be cemented as an iconic part of RE history than for him to become like Team Rocket fighting Ash every week for all eternity.
I heard that re5 was meant to be the last main title re game, and after 5 they would probably go with spin offs tying some lose ends, but re5 made so much bank that Capcom abandoned that plan continued the main numbered series through 5

The Wesker in RE4/5 was a clone. Original Wesker still has the burns on his face from Code Veronica X. He learned not to underestimate Chris and instead of putting himself out in the field, decided to use a clone instead. The clone would seek the ultimate virus to become a God and if successful, Original Wesker would use mind transference as Alex did.
That would be the perfect comeback so he can show us all his crazy schemes again

Wesker to me is the most memorable villain in the series. His persona reminds me of some bond/comicbook villains.
I find it kinda interesting that Chris and Wesker has this perfect hero villain relationship. They both hated each other so much that they both literally think of each other very often. It's like a romantic relationship but in reverse.
Wesker became so strong with the virus, this is why chris built his body larger to take and give some damage. While wesker unconsciously does not kill chris because he hated him so much he wants him to suffer by letting him feel despair.
Fucking love Wesker the hair, the shades and dressed in all black. He's one of my favorite villains of all time and of most games out there.
RE5 is great. Played it lots of times. Lore, mechanics ,controls, graphics, music. Chris, wesker, Jill and Sheva. What an amazing cast!

You forgot RE4 and Umbrella Chronicles. Wesker infiltrating an Umbrella base in Russia was actually cool. He even beat up several tyrants by himself.

He beat up two Ivan Tyrants in Russia.
I always found his line to Lisa Trevor super cold, he says something like "Now darling, be a good girl and stay dead (this time)", because he and Birkin made her into a monster. While Birkin was ranging from mad scientist to driven scientist (depending on iteration), Wesker has always been depicted as evil, sadistic and ruthless with zero redeeming qualities.
Albert Wesker isn't the perfect RE villain. He's the perfect villain, period.

I had RE7 on Ps4 btw but didn’t get to finish it and haven’t played any RE games that have come out since RE7. I own all the games before that, though on ps1, ps2, gamecube, Gaiden on gameboy, all of them. It’s my favorite game series and while i have mixed feelings about how a Code Veronica remake will turn out, whether it will be good maybe like the RE2 remake or be terrible like i think the RE3 remake was.
On one hand I’d like to see it, and alternatively i feel it should be left alone.
What’s your opinion on that? And just Capcom remaking more of the games in the series in general?
Wesker is always so high maintenanced. I bet if he was to come home seeing that his hair gel got spilled he would be pissed! Other than that wesker is still alive! He will be back.

fun fact:in the original dreamcast version of code veronica there arent that many scenes of wesker showing his powers,in the scene where he confronts alexia he gets his ass kicked by her but in the ps2 version they changed it to show him running across the walls on fire and punching her.
Killing Wesker was the biggest mistake of the RE lore.
I always loved and hated how Wesker could've killed Chris, Sheva and Jill so easily since he could technically just move faster then they can see and strong enough to kill with one punch. But his ego prevents him from doing it since he seems to want to make Chris suffer. Only seriously trying to kill them once in the plane hanger (evidenced by the QTE's where he actually kills them if failed) but sadly too weakened to overwhelm them as much as in the mansion. Its frustrating he couldn't just kill then when he had every chance but also makes for a good villian in that he was his own worst enemy, so caught up in his ideals of how things should be, that he becomes his own downfall.
It's apparently canon that he survived RE5. According to Capcom and D.C. Douglas, he survived in the Experiment DLC of Umbrella Corps, which takes place after RE5. While it's unknown if it's actually Wesker or clone. But it is without a doubt, the man who wears sunglasses at night.
Not gonna lie, I was sad when he died in re 5. Wesker is my favorite villain of all time. 💯
I like the old Wesker. He was just so calm and cool, like an evil Mastermind. The new Wesker did become an ego maniac and a lot less likable in my opinion. But after watching his explanation from umbrella Chronicles, it makes sense. Too much power changed him.
Not to mention being kidnapped, brainwashed and injected with weird, experimental viruses... that probably didn't help his mental stability🙁

That's what the RE universe needs right now... A stand alone game where Wesker is the star of the show where we get to see his back story, why which ever virus he had didn't affect him the way it did Birkin and especially, when the hell did he have a son ( Jake from RE6 )...
RE 5 is one of my favourite games in the franchise. The lore, the virus and, of course, the best Wesker version.
Wesker can take easy any B.O.W. (don't putting Thanos here for obvious reasons.)
Lore talking, for me the most important game, finely we learn about the origin of the Virus and seeing the place was pretty cool.
Love too the Jill returns scene, I was shock wen I see is face...

idk if anything in Resident Evil can really stand a chance against Wesker 1v1 especially if he takes the fight seriously. Wesker is only thing that can dash 2 u in a blink of an eye and pierce thru the chest with his hand just like that. nothing else like this was ever seen in re and kinda felt like out of this game, fitting more in2 games like dmc with his insane abilities. he has many opportunities to kill Chris and Sheva but lost because of his mouth and how he wasn't really taking the fight seriously, showing off his abilities rather than really trying to kill them
That's very true that he did take his time trying to eliminate chris. Like you said, if he really did take it seriously and just finished his business then he wouldn't have had to die by the end.

Of course he did but remember good guys always win in video games and movies, they always win. Not in real life, but in movies and video games, they always win. So basically of course, Wesker is basically a god, but Chris and Sheva could destroy him XD. Ok, right... I mean, really, no way, you know? How can a human beat a god? It's a pretty good question, if you ask me... That's where it says "hey, it's only a video game, right?".

I’m just gonna say Wesker didn’t have to save you in the OG Resi remake, or give you health and ammo pickups, or fix the doorknob so you can get away from Lisa. I get the feeling the writers wanted Albert to care for his team but at the last second were pressured to make him a more evil twist villain.
That's an interesting theory. I always thought it was funny that he fixes that doorknob. Really? They're running for their lives in this twisted mansion full of monsters, and Wesker takes the time to do a little home improvement lol

@@dannyyous That's what I have always thought. If the team dies too early, he doesn't get to test the Tyrant, a monster he's super proud of. So to help them get there and cast suspicion off himself, he gives them ammo.

@Wilfri Castillo C virus didn't exist yet and T-Veronica is inferior to Uroboros, the time they fought, Wesker was much younger and less augmented by an inferior virus.
@Wilfri Castillo Again, Wesker was a near match for her with just the T/Progenitor Virus, arguably the weakest one of the whole series, with that one he has moderately superior strength and speed with really good durability, but with Uroboros (a virus engineered and considered perfect by Wesker himself) Wesker moves too fast for the eye to comprehend and his strength and durability skyrocket in comparison to when he just had the T-virus.
Against T-virus Wesker, yes, Alexia is stronger.
Against Uroboros Wesker, no way in hell and there's nothing backing that up, Wesker would blitz her and kill her in moments, if he wasn't playing around, like he did with Chris and Sheva.
Alexia's "fight" with Wesker wasn't anywhere close stomping him. Both didn't get hurt in any way. If Wesker was armed, like Chris, he would've dealt with her easily. Without weapons at that point in time, Alexia had the slight edge with fire powers, but other than that they were evenly matched. If she were to fight RE 5 Wesker, she'd die in seconds because he wouldn't fuck around with her, like with Chris
@@crim1188 I think that's an overall pretty good analysis. How they fare with Chris is an important factor, in Code Veronica, Alexia was killed by Chris, with not too much backing up that he just got really lucky (though RE protagonists are notoriously lucky) while in RE5 a much stronger and more skilled Chris is toyed with by Wesker in every encounter, if Wesker would just stop dicking around and pull the trigger or just straight up impale him, he would be able to dispatch him easily.
I like the multi screen slides you show during explanations. It allows for multiple examples of what you are describing very easy for a listen that hadn't experienced it.

Anyone think Wesker didn't kill Chris on purpose? He could've easily done it many times but maybe after controlling Jill he figured in the future he could've made Chris an asset like her. Because it doesn't really make sense that a guy fast enough to dodge bullets would fail to kill anyone multiple times.
He wanted Chris to suffer because he hated Chris more than anyone else. He would rather kill Sheva, Jill, Leon, Piers, Ada, Claire and everyone else (except Rebecca) before he kills Chris just to make him suffer.

Because casual weapons don't cut it against insanely large and mutated creatures. However, you can beat RE4 without the launcher. Dish enough damage to Saddler and he will die, allowing you to keep the RPG.
What about a nuke instead?

Wesker is my favourite villain ever and I love the fight he has with Chris in the aircraft hanger. I didn’t think he was dead at the end of re5 and would love for him to return one last time.
Everybody seems to blame Sheva (for a ridiculous reason if you ask me -- she's not responsible for the stupid AI right?) but if Chris weren't there alone, he would have been dead... He's lucky to have partnered with Sheva...

If you follow his footsteps, that means you would have to die (remember the T-Virus and reviving, losing your humanity and remember what Wesker said "I still remember the dark and cold fingers of death upon me" or something like that), you would trade all that, and for what? To gain some powers? I'm sorry you're so depressed XD. I agree with you, it's not that great being a human, still it's better than nothing, right? XD. Be careful, wishing for something more or different things and usually you're disappointed, content is difficult.
There's something about Wesker that stands out. If you think about it, if he was in a movie or a tv show, he would be a forgettable agent Smith copycat, regardless of how accurate or not that statement is.
But having this type of unstoppable cliche villain in a videogame, where _you_ have to face him, just clicks. I love this guy, he's the reason I wanted to play these games in the first place.

And now capcom is remaking the lore from re2 to re4, which will most likely, lead them to remake re5 and re6, so we might see Wesker as the main villain of both games, giving him the place he deserves as one of the most iconic villains on video games history.
I hope we see more of Wesker with the new lore, but also, i think he's going to have like 10 clones or something.
Like: "The original is CV Wesker, which has a burning mark on his face, the others died fighting Chris and Leon, but the original was developing a plan to become a true god, and now...he's back!"

he is only character out of the 3 Umbrella founders that was barely explored. (Outside of his goal that he "passed" on the torch to Albert Wesker.)
Doctor James and the Ashford family were pretty much explored in zero and CV.
That would be awesome, Maybe during the game we get flashbacks on how all three founders came up to be and how they ran Umbrella and all the crazy experiments.

What's really interesting about this character is the evolution that he took. If you're into pop culture there is no doubt that Wesker eventually was inspired by James Bond villains and also the Smoky Man from the X-Files to name a few. He wasn't always this way, but it's cool to see this evolution over time of the character. He really is a top tier villain in pop culture.

Anyone else think having Wesker in a game like Tekken would be a sight to behold? Watching him fight against someone like Kazuya Mishima would be pretty incredible all things considered.
Great or even in Dissidia but I don't play Tekken since they killed the franchise with the Tag Tournament 2 video game XD.
We need a RE Wesker campaign. I'm sure there is much they can do with that. From RE1 and even Code Veronica I'm sure Capcom could conjure something up but has to stick with the lore. Umbrella Chronicles just doesn't cut it with the gameplay.

my only real problem with Wesker is just HOW over the top his superhuman feats are.. He could be fast and super strong without breaking every law of physics (snapping from place to place like he does in 5 would literally tear the ground apart under him.. not to mention it makes no sense anyone could survive a hit from him if he was that strong)

I think Wesker could adapt to the mold like he did the uroboros and use it to take baker out where the uriboros would kill baker.
It'd be kinda like the End of Zoe DLC, just with Wesker instead of Joe Baker and all of his punches one-shotting the molded. Considering who Wesker is and what he can do as well as how Jack fights and dies, I sincerely doubt that Daddy would have any chance against Wesker.
Maybe he'd catch him off guard once, but the moment Wesker realized what's going on about the virus and Jack's state of being, he's dead. Maybe worse, if we go by the idea that only the antidote can kill Jack. In that case, Wesker just capturres him and then takes him in to experiment on his body. And considering that Jack is still conscious and aware somewhat of what Eveline is doing to his family, he's simply unable to stop it, that'd be the mother of all torture for him.

@@chris72. Especially if it's set after Margerite has been killed. In that case, Jack is already 3/4 mad with grief from the loss and knowing Wesker, he can capitalize on that. "Oh, we can bring your wife back if you cooperate, Mr. Baker." Then it's kind of a Lisa Trevor situation.
Wesker of RE1 was the best. He should've stayed human throughout the series, made him more relatable and realistic. He should've been an Ada Wong type character but working for Umbrella.

Wesker was a very important character in the franchise. Capcom shouldn't have killed him at the end of RE5. To me, the fact that they eventually add his son, Jake, in RE6 is proof of that : it was way too soon to kill Wesker. The guy deserved a better death than the one he got.
I'm new to the series and I already like him. It was real kind of him to that broken door knob and leave behind extra supplies for Chris in the mansion.
Yeah, code Veronica should be the next remake after 3. We get to see Wesker in action again.
Honestly I’m convinced Capcom regretted ever killing him off and has been gearing up to retcon his death with the remakes. He is possibly the most iconic villain in the series, rivaling the likes of Tyrant, and more recently Lady D (Though she’s only iconic because of everyone being down horrendous for her, myself included). Miranda, Saddler, and Eveline WISH they had what Wesker did. He could have carried the series and there is a bit of evidence to support the idea that he’s coming back in some capacity. I’ll be counting the days.
Personally i wouldn't like it if Albert Wesker returned. His story was finished in RE5. They should instead of bringing back Wesker create a legacy of Albert Wesker, people continuing work to get to his goal after his death. This would show how much of an Impact Wesker had in the Resident Evil world.

My first re game was 5 but I was high on pain killers from getting my wisdom teeth out. My older brother asked me to play it with him to get my mind off of the pain. Downside I dont remember the majority the game and only remember Weskers death and bad assery. Playing it almost got me malnourished since I got so focused actually enjoying time with my big brother I forgot to eat. I just remember playing then having blurred vision and feeling like I was gonna pass out. Luckily my mom was in the same room and got me some yogurt and vitamins.

I would not be surprised and would not call it an ass-pull if in RE9 we find out he never actually died. He was standing in that lava and tugging at that helicopter like it was just another Monday. Honestly I really hope they bring him back, no other villain in the series after him had the same charisma, presence and coolness factor.
So Wesker can survive over a dozen 17,000lb I-beams fall on him,survives impalement,can dodge bullets,can shatter the missile casing for uroboros,throw around the main characters like nothing,is practically unaffected by over half his body laying in lava,catch a rocket,survive the rocket blowing up in his face,but 2 rockets completely obliterate him AFTER he has uroboros,which makes no fucking sense considering most of his feats were before he even had uroboros,and some of them while being nerfed.
Just to be honest, I did feel like he got nerfed towards the end. Because in his base form he was a lot more potent. Also all the points you made was true, having those beams fall on him in Resident Evil Code Veronica should've killed him

It seems there was a kid writing all this after watching to many marvel movies and didnt expect to find out it would be a horror game
"A God? You? Arrogant even unto the end." Wesker said this to Spencer but ironically it described himself.
Also inloved the scene were Spencer said that a God is facing his own mortality and at that moment wesker was staring straight at him, almost as if wesker was the physical manifestation of Spencer's grim reaper.

I liked Wesker the best in CVX
In RE1 he seemed kind of like a puppet master (In respect to your character) But seemed like there were still people pulling the strings.
In CVX it seemed like "Holy shit he is back.... How? And he is pissed off"
Edit: In RE4 I thought he seemed more like RE1 again (But he was hardly there or interacted with anybody to see any personality) But this time HE was the boss.
In RE5 we get to see him stop being pissed off and start to develop a god complex (When He kills Spencer and finds out his origin) and in turn went from a badass villain who I felt worried about running into again, to just generic villain of the week caliber. (Which really had me dissopointed for RE5 since I didn't like how Action heavy it became to begin with)
You explained it perfectly, In a way I liked the last minute plot twist in the end of RE1, I played the original, So when I first played through it, it was crazy to find out Wesker was behind of all it all along. Anyway I can see why you liked the Code Veronica Version. It was great to see him back and not only that we get to see him with the superhuman abilities for the first time.
