@Doob Scoob ethan wasnt under evelines control and judging by how much more fragile he is than the members of the baker family its possible there was... less? mold in him? or perhaps its just to make actual gameplay possible, either way, he wasn't infected the same way the bakers were, they were also great people but it changed them.
Lucas was the only Baker that was genuinely evil. Jack and Marguerite may have been flawed, but they were good people. The mold was the driving force behind the bad things they did. Lucas didn't have this excuse. The Connections broke Eveline's mind control. He did the things he did while in his "right mind". He actively chose it.
Lucas always came off as someone who liked Saw way too much, but I did like that he was some of the few RE villains to embrace what he was infected with. Him pointing out Eveline's family obsession I believe has something to do with her unknowingly rubbing off of Miranda.

The obvious and prominent evil that was Lucas made him the scariest for the sheer fact that he wasn't twisted by a horrid childhood or trauma or possessed by an evil entity rather he was loudly and unapologetically evil and proud of not only his high intelligence but his relentless brutality. Monsters aren't the ones that are scary. It's the humans that are.

I've always felt some kind of bitterness to how the 'Not a Hero' DLC played out. The dude was crazy but he was also just absolutely brilliant for creating his own unique mold strain, all by himself! I felt like Lucas had the potential to be an AMAZING long-term villain because of that. It just sucks that they had Chris go all 'macho man' on him and just blow his head off even when he was incapacitated. It felt like such a cop-out on how kill off such a funny, scary villain.
I think he was one of the BEST villains in the game, because if he wasn't actually under Evelyn's control while we were controlling Ethan, he was just playing those games because he could. There was no "She told me to" or "It's not me" like there was with Jack and Marguerite. It was just.... Him. He never felt remorse for anything, there was never really any justification or reason for any of it, just the sadistic joy of torturing his victims. I do feel bad looking back on Jack telling Ethan to save his family. "I'm no killer, neither is Marguerite, my boy Lucas, or even Zoe here". He never knew everything his son did was just on his own accord. While the premise of the rest of the Baker family having the "I'm not in control of me" as an excuse for their actions, having a cold, calculated monster like Lucas as a villain makes a fantastic story. He never cared. His actions bare no consequence on his conscience, he is just evil
My only question is how can he still communicate with Evelyn through the hive mind if they removed her control over him. And how does she not know he's not under her control anymore.
I had that same question when he was talking to her while we were watching him on TV, but my guess was she actually there in her Old lady form, but he did trick her into thinking that he was still under her control
the basement lab has a note about "the company" gave Lucas a dose to retrain Eveline's control all he had to do was pretending and then doing research and report to them
I always told my brothers this guy was already evil before the mold. They never believed me until I showed them the notes detailing how he murdered someone before the mold.
While I enjoyed what we got with RE7, I think writing Lucas as the final villain in the main game who reveals to be the guy who sold out his family (and community) at their expense for his experiments and profit; would've been a more cohesive way to narratively tie in how RE7's antagonists center around 1 singular family and then the Connections.
Awesome video like always DeVuH. I like Lucas he reminds me of Jigsaw from the Saw Movies especially his Traps. I really wish we didn't killed him in Chris's DLC Not a Hero, it would've been awesome had he been in village especially because he has information on the connections. It's important to mention that throughout RE Village that mysterious company he was working for was never mentioned and probably would've told us more about them had he been in it.
You're very very welcome and yes I always wondered the same thing. Who was this other Company he was talking to besides that Connections. I hope we get to see and hear more info about them in the future RE games
Lucas Baker is got to be the most insane person in RE world, even though he had show signs of a better future because of his intelligence but we all know that he was insane with or without the mold infection. I can't even imagine what he would do if he had survived and escaped from Chris. Although we might not hear from him for awhile since he'll go into hiding but I'm sure he would make Jigsaw's inventions look like a walk in the park.
Great video. Lucas was one of the most interesting character in RE imo, I would have liked it more if they kept him alive so we can see him in future games
Lord Lucas is one of the most chaotic characters and i fucking love it 😂 he’s not a scary character at all but his brain and the games he came up with. I would not wanna cross paths with him. Nope. The Bakers deserved so much better though. When i first played the game when it came out I was like “Y’all need to go, die already please.” But towards when you find out more about them i was just like “can i rewind and kill Evie please? Do over?”
This whole game was the worst possible shroom trip one could experience. I think Lucas was fucked in the head enough that, funnily enough, he was the one who maintained the most of his original mind and personality after the mold exposure. He leaned into it, he didn't have to be brainwashed.
I think Lucas was a villain type Resident Evil needs to explore more in later installments. Imagine a villain with his intelligence using well crafted B.O.W.’s in a maze to test them on victims and acquire footage to sell his creations to terrorist organizations.
Does anyone think that the connection was trying to perfect a bio weapon in the form of a little girl had anything to do with mother Miranda and her attempts to bring her daughter back?
Very true, he was already a monster from the get go. It was a messed up situation he did when he was young. If anything the Mold Strain only amplified what he was already
Watching the kitchen scene again it hit me that Ethan was already one of them but still thought he was human showing disgust for their appearance and “dinner”. He never had a chance.
See this is why a jigsaw style villain, with a pursuer BOW like Mr. X acting as Minotaur in a labyrinth of zombies and other bows. People would be drugged and dropped into this labyrinth to record test data from the creatures inside, the jigsaw villain overseeing it all. There would be weapons and equipment spread throughout the labyrinth to give the subjects a fighting chance against the bow’s, even providing means to eventually kill the Minotaur, but only slow it down with other means till that method is deployed.
Oooh, yeah I think RE games prior to 7 weren't all that scary to me for the most part, but this one really had me super uncomfortable. I'm really not fond of most gore, even more so torture. I had to actually look away from the video a couple of times cuz Lucas is really... hm... out there LOL. I remember watching Markiplier play RE7 and I really could not sit for some of the scenes else I get really sick XP I think that probably says a lot. This is a great video as always though! I'm really fond of your analysis videos~! .w./
Thank You so much and yeah out of all the gore moments in RE7, Lucas was the hardest to watch just due to the fact he enjoyed every moment of it, it just shows how Evil he was
Everyones talking about clancy and the bakers but what about Hoffman?? He just wanted to go home to his wife and kids but ended up being electrocuted alive and at the end with the weird ass knife contraption thing lucas made he woke up at the last second to witness his inevitable painfull death.
I think Lucas being conscious is so creepy because it just gave him unbridled time to do things he genuinely wanted to do. So when Zoe wanted to go back to normal, Lucas was never normal do he wouldn't be able yo adjust and he didn't want that.
This is so true! Like once the mold got over he was like: this is life. cuz he was already a crazy, and who wouldn’t want a power like that in his case?
17:11 idk bout y'all but even tho Hoffman was literally in one small dlc thing I still feel extremely bad for him even tho we don't see his face tho we don't know much about his character I still like him
Or maybe Lucas had something in his head. Like a tumor. Cause it’s actually quite common for tumors in the brain to cause people to do twisted and sick things.
going over the bits of his backstory, he never had the ability to really be empathetic he did have a bit of a limit though, which is pretty surprising with all he was happy to do
I kind of wish Lucas lived longer. He was the most interesting because he was always psychotic. Unlike Jack and Marguerite, Lucas was never a good person.
I thought his character was great but I felt like his story had plot holes like he said he was never infected or something like that anymore but than mutates at the end kind of confused me
He was still infected but he was just released from the mind control that Eveline had with a serum that the connections gave him. Though it was never specified on what that serum was, which actually is very important because it could have saved many lives that were infected with the mold
Oh yeah I'm wondering if this game is still relevant today even after 5 years old? Coz for me, hell ye, I just revisited this game a week ago while beating under 4 hours
I wonder if hes the reason the enemies were so strong because of his unconventional methods of research his weapons ironically came in handy too on a side note i wish ethan would have called lucas a crazy head haha.jacks attitude towards Lucas likely shows that he's either afraid or at least off put still by Lucas's behavior and I'm sure he knows about Oliver's death
I love how jack basically does saw traps kinda traps. I feel like they got inspiration from it because when chris kills him he says game over which is what john kramer says when tye game is well.. over

I had that same question when he was talking to her while we were watching him on TV, but my guess was she actually there in her Old lady form, but he did trick her into thinking that he was still under her control
the basement lab has a note about "the company" gave Lucas a dose to retrain Eveline's control
all he had to do was pretending and then doing research and report to them
@@hieunguyenrileygekko but I think the general issue is, shouldn’t she be able to sense she isn’t controlling Lucas
@@HeYDeVuH remember when jack asked Ethan to save his family Lucas wasn’t there ….
Because the mold is a hivemind and just because she doesn't have control over him that doesn't mean she can't communicate with him
rest in piece my man Clancy, he deserved better
I always told my brothers this guy was already evil before the mold. They never believed me until I showed them the notes detailing how he murdered someone before the mold.
The 259 number always felt significant somehow. Like, maybe he was given a puzzle with a piece missing? Weird number in any case
Uranium-259
Lucas Baker lives in my head rent free.
I think of the entire story, the tale of young Oliver breaks my heart the most.
how did no one know where he was is the weirdest thing. If my 15 or under child is going somewhere, I know where??
"No sunshine either." He says as he shows me the most traumatizing image I've ever seen.
Great video. Lucas was one of the most interesting character in RE imo, I would have liked it more if they kept him alive so we can see him in future games
Also I want to know who Lucas was in contact with besides the Connections. Maybe they'll explore more into this in the next game
The only member of the Baker family who was an objectively terrible person BEFORE Eveline showed up
Lord Lucas is one of the most chaotic characters and i fucking love it 😂 he’s not a scary character at all but his brain and the games he came up with. I would not wanna cross paths with him. Nope.
The Bakers deserved so much better though. When i first played the game when it came out I was like “Y’all need to go, die already please.” But towards when you find out more about them i was just like “can i rewind and kill Evie please? Do over?”
Yeah the Baker family went through a lot during RE7 and yes Lucas was just pure Chaos
This whole game was the worst possible shroom trip one could experience. I think Lucas was fucked in the head enough that, funnily enough, he was the one who maintained the most of his original mind and personality after the mold exposure. He leaned into it, he didn't have to be brainwashed.
Being burnt alive is scientifically the most painful way to die. They had you thinking that Clancy was actually going to make it out alive.
Correct me if I’m wrong but don’t people normally die from carbon monoxide poisoning before they can actually burn?
Ha ha ha! Good luck! love it dude, keep em coming
Thank You!!!
I absolutely loved Lucas. He was such a blast to fight and his character was a lot of fun to watch lol
Outstanding as always thanks dude!!!!😈👍👍👍👍👍👍
I think Lucas was a villain type Resident Evil needs to explore more in later installments. Imagine a villain with his intelligence using well crafted B.O.W.’s in a maze to test them on victims and acquire footage to sell his creations to terrorist organizations.
I guess you never played original RE1 game, because that's exactly what Wesker was doing.
@@J.J.Jameson_of_Daily_Bugle true, but he had to work with an infested house, not a facility built exactly for that purpose.
Lucas and Irons would have got along if they'd met both being sadistic psychos who like torture and murder.
They would be a crazy team to deal with
they'd either get along terrifyingly good or they'd be trying out how to brutally murder the other within 5 minutes
@@prcervi Maybe both lol
@@prcervi I think the latter, they're both selfish picks after all.
He got his just deserts when Chris put him down.
Yes he did, he deserved it after everything he's done to everyone
A what desert
@@AdminAbuse Just deserts means got what he deserved.
Does anyone think that the connection was trying to perfect a bio weapon in the form of a little girl had anything to do with mother Miranda and her attempts to bring her daughter back?
Not really, it doesnt make a whole lot of sense to me.
So hows it feel to be right? Eveline was a failed attempt
Wait wasn’t that directly said in res8?
Somehow yes, miranda gave the connections her kids DNA and yeah, also funny how eveline and eva are similar names (correct me if im wrong)
He did not need the Mold to become a monster
Very true, he was already a monster from the get go. It was a messed up situation he did when he was young. If anything the Mold Strain only amplified what he was already
I'm so glad we got to learn more from the DLC. VII is one of my favorite games
Lucas’s face the whole time during the dinner scene just kills me😂
Oooh, yeah I think RE games prior to 7 weren't all that scary to me for the most part, but this one really had me super uncomfortable.
Lucas: it’s time for a SHADOW GAME
17:11 idk bout y'all but even tho Hoffman was literally in one small dlc thing I still feel extremely bad for him even tho we don't see his face tho we don't know much about his character I still like him
The first resident evil I ever played (not including resident evil zero when I was little) and I wasn’t disappointed
Or maybe Lucas had something in his head. Like a tumor. Cause it’s actually quite common for tumors in the brain to cause people to do twisted and sick things.
That could be a possibility
Sad. Sounds like Lucas was a slave to his own insane mind.
That's a good summarization
going over the bits of his backstory, he never had the ability to really be empathetic
he did have a bit of a limit though, which is pretty surprising with all he was happy to do
Lucas Baker is an awesome villain!! Sometimes I think he is better than Joker from Batman
Lucas is one of those villains that are way smarter then they appear
I don't know how I didn't realise until now how sadistic Lucas actually was.
Lucas, you got to hand it to him, seemed to really be having fun. And that’s what counts, isn’t it?
Yeah a really sick and twisted version of fun
4:22
Zoe: do you need someting?
Lucas: what?
Zoe: DO YOU NEED SOMETING?
Lucas: WHAT?
The voice acting was fantastic in this game.
I kind of wish Lucas lived longer. He was the most interesting because he was always psychotic. Unlike Jack and Marguerite, Lucas was never a good person.
Someone should show scenes of Lucas Baker to an FBI profiler no joke
Can we have a DLC that's just Clancy beating up Lucas in the afterlife?
He often reminded me of the joker with his games and mentality it was very interesting
He was always my favourite character 😁
You imagine if Lucas and Heisenberg teamed up
Two egotistical people won't go together well.
then not even Ethan can win Ethan woulf need help from Chris and maybe Leon and Claire
Humanity would be at stake
I thought his character was great but I felt like his story had plot holes like he said he was never infected or something like that anymore but than mutates at the end kind of confused me
He was still infected but he was just released from the mind control that Eveline had with a serum that the connections gave him. Though it was never specified on what that serum was, which actually is very important because it could have saved many lives that were infected with the mold
Brilliant video
Lucas is basically the Vaas of Resident Evil.
Oh yeah I'm wondering if this game is still relevant today even after 5 years old? Coz for me, hell ye, I just revisited this game a week ago while beating under 4 hours
I think it will be relevant with the fact that it was said that RE7, RE Village, and the next main RE game is considered a trilogy.
Yep, this guy would most definitely feel right at home in an umbrella company position, or whatever the heck the BSAA is doing now in RE8.
Lucas was on that Alabama shit 4:21
If Lucas was a youtuber I'd definitely watch him
Yoooo is that I’mJayStation?
FFAAAAAXXX😂😂😂
I wonder if hes the reason the enemies were so strong because of his unconventional methods of research his weapons ironically came in handy too on a side note i wish ethan would have called lucas a crazy head haha.jacks attitude towards Lucas likely shows that he's either afraid or at least off put still by Lucas's behavior and I'm sure he knows about Oliver's death
I love how jack basically does saw traps kinda traps. I feel like they got inspiration from it because when chris kills him he says game over which is what john kramer says when tye game is well.. over
Could you one day explain the story of characters from resident evil outbreak?
Yes I definitely can
Chief Irons: I'm the most insane psychopath in the franchise!
Lucas: Ethaaan! *EEEEEETHAAN!*
Behold, one of the only evil residents in Resident Evil
4:20 I hate to say this but I agree with Lucas here. Zoe definitely overreacted.
You should make a video about Heisenberg
Enjoying your videos buddy, nicely done.☘️👁☣️
The background music is the far cry 6 menu music (I’m pretty sure) if you want to use it 😊
Never understood why Jack lies to Ethan about Lucas in Ethan's purgatory state.
He didn't know about Lucas' other side.
It's funny because it told you that ethan was mold from the first time you meet the family
Lucas loses his arm and it grows back completely usable
Ethans hand gets completely usable too
Jack and margaret were nice and sane once before the molded but lucas was always unhinged and getting infected made that unhingedness ten fold
Mr HeY DeVuh, do you happen to still know the background music in this video? It’s soothing and calming and I’d like to listen to it on my own.
It's the resident evil 7 save room theme!
Lucas is my favourite villain alongside Wesker. It's creepy to realise that this boy weren't right from day one even without the mould!
