My sister did this too, she was around 11 years old and put in a fiver, which was her allowance, and tried to make change for herself. Oh the shock on my parents faces! My Mother, rest her soul. Would talk about it sometimes much later in life and just burst into laughter.
Honestly, I thought about asking for change at Mass the other week but didn’t. I don’t go every week, but something told me I had to that Sunday, and I had not planned on it. All I had was a 50$ in my pocket, and as a college student that’s 50$ more than I had to lose. But when donations came I wasn’t trying to avoid it, even though you’ll never be criticized at my Church for doing so. Gave them my 50, really thought about asking for change.

I think definitely we have to think about Padre Pio, and how he would send people out of the conversion at all to change your clothes if the ladies skirt was too short, the same thing for men if they were wearing clothes, not appropriate for Holy Catholic Mass.
One year for Easter I was with my uncle out of state. (Didn’t go to church much before this.) well the passed around the offering like four times. Fast forward to the part where they shut off the lights and spot light Jesus on the cross we sang and when the light came back on I said to my uncle my wallets gone didn’t know the whole left side of the church would hear me we all laughed. I once went to a liberal church in Marin County, California. At the offertory, the congregation was invited to put in what they could afford, and to take out what they needed.
I respect each cultures way of Worshipping. White Churches worship with hymns and a chore and is more calm and collective. African Churches are more high energy and louder with dancing. Mexican and Latino churches have more emotional worship and are very passionate. Each people praises God in their own way and God Still shows up!!
Doesn’t have to do with race. It’s the denominations that have their style of worship. Pentecostal churches will emphasize emotion and dancing and expression and a “free moving” of the spirit, that’s regardless of what race is the majority of the church. Episcopalian,Lutheran will be much more liturgical and contemplative and won’t lean to emotion but to reverence,calmness and “in your mind” not expressed by moving/dancing. Methodists and Baptist are somewhere in between those two extremes. Whatever the church denomination is, it’ll follow the pattern of worship be it a white, Asian, Hispanic or black church.
There are conservative black churches and more energetic black churches there are conservative white churches and more energetic white churches there are conservative Mexican churches there are more energetic Mexican churches. What you're saying is ridiculous.

I once went to a liberal church in Marin County, California. At the offertory, the congregation was invited to put in what they could afford, and to take out what they needed.
I respect each cultures way of Worshipping. White Churches worship with hymns and a chore and is more calm and collective. African Churches are more high energy and louder with dancing. Mexican and Latino churches have more emotional worship and are very passionate. Each people praises God in their own way and God Still shows up!!
Doesn’t have to do with race. It’s the denominations that have their style of worship. Pentecostal churches will emphasize emotion and dancing and expression and a “free moving” of the spirit, that’s regardless of what race is the majority of the church. Episcopalian,Lutheran will be much more liturgical and contemplative and won’t lean to emotion but to reverence,calmness and “in your mind” not expressed by moving/dancing.
Methodists and Baptist are somewhere in between those two extremes. Whatever the church denomination is, it’ll follow the pattern of worship be it a white, Asian, Hispanic or black church.
There are conservative black churches and more energetic black churches there are conservative white churches and more energetic white churches there are conservative Mexican churches there are more energetic Mexican churches. What you're saying is ridiculous.
