    Great vid, well done. A tip for not having to get your fly line out of the end guide. Leave about 2 feet of fly line out, grab your bottom fly and put on a middle guide and then grab the leader and wrap behind the reel. Wind up excess line and eveything is tight. When it comes time to making a cast pull leader from behind the reel, let it drop, tap the top of your rod and flies will fall off guide nd you are ready to go. Save so much mucking around. Keep the vids coming. Hope that helps

      Awesome mate, I was just down there this weekend fishing the snowy above Guthega and also below the power station. Caught quite a few on parachute adams and elk hair caddis. Have footage, I just need to get around to doing a video as I still have quite a bit of tassie footage to process. The big deep pools, especially with a creek or something running into it holds the big ones :P

    Wow! Lovely spot.
    I always fish the Eucembene but maybe I’ll change it up next trip.
    Are there several places to park and hike in above the Lake J…or do you kind of have to know where to go?
    Thanks!

      hey mate, if you google island bend campsite, from there the road runs north or south along the river. Can hike in from the road.

    ..The ones where you retrieve slowly … is that a wooly bugger style or a nymph of some sort?

      Fishing a dry fly, the stripping is me just managing my line. As it floats down stream you want to strip that excess line so that if you strike you are immediately in contact with your fly. In addition you don't want that extra line dragging. Make sure you aren't stripping so much though that you are pulling the fly across the water though.

    Hey mate, wondering where you camped on your trip. I’m going to head there in a couple days and don’t know many places.

      I generally stay at Island Bend camp ground. It's inside the park so you will need a vehicle permit. You can book the campground as well online through NSW National Parks for $6.

    Hey mate, loving the content just wondering if this was the snowy above or below Jindabyne. Looks like some lovely countryside. Keep up the great content.

      Hey bro, this is above Jindabyne lake. The Snowy River below the Dam is flowing really fast and wide atm, as they are releasing a lot of water out of the lake.

      @@MattFA awesome, so many spots down in the snowy's. I was thinking of fishing the Cotter tomorrow, will be my first time fishing it. Any recommendations on where I can access some decent water?

      @@p3p_flyfishing I've only been to the cotter once and went down to Vanity's Crossing which was okay. Managed to get a couple of little rainbows out of there but only fished probably 500m either side of the entry due to time constraints. If you're ever looking for a fishing buddy feel free to hit me up.

    Hi mate, was that down or above Jindabyne Dam? I live down the at the end of the Snowy and have never caught a Trout below the Dam

    • @p3p_flyfishing
      @p3p_flyfishing  Год назад

      hey bud, it's above the dam. I've never tried fishing the bit of river just below it. I've fished some parts above and been super productive, other parts which look super fish able have had fish really far between. There is trout all the way down the snowy near the Pinch river, so can only assume that they could be up further near the dam. The Mowamba holds fish as well. They are releasing water 24x7 though right?

      @@skippee358 o nice, yer couple of fisherman i've bumped into near the Pinch were saying they have caught some huge bass. Looks like they stocked it several years ago. Jealous of your vic rivers :) If you haven't checked www.dpi.nsw.gov.au/fishing/recreational/resources/stocking is a good resource for checking out historical stocking and gives you an indication if there might be fish about and species.
