    I was disappointed to see the Ninja Vest take away your gloves. So you have a vest that refills your throwing knives, but gives you no ability to get the knives out fast or throw them further. So you might as well take the Demo vest with covert sneakers instead.

      Honestly having a lot of fun with the Ninja Vest and stalker boots. I don't usually use throwing knives but I like to try the new content when it drops, so I threw knives on my ninja class. Having a blast and will definitely use throwing knives more now regardless of what Vest I'm running

      If you can’t run some sort of ghost perk AND eod on all classes, you’re at a disadvantage in every game. Can’t use the Ninja vest

    I agree, toning down the base footsteps would help solve alot of problems.
    The other thing they should consider is combining some of the other boots to make them stronger. Some of their perks are just far too niche and situational to be worth it by comparison, like The increased mantling speed boots should just be part of lightweight or stalker.

      Just keep in mind for now, until they fix it, just try to not be in their line of sight when going for it. The enemy will still have trouble turning

      Just go HC shipment and use only flash and stuns. It's always been a bit of a pain but in HC it's pretty easy

    I agree that the footstep audio needs tweaked, but i think the "bone conduction headset" should counter the "covert sneakers". There was always that counter play in the old games with the "awareness" perk and such and i don't think is should be any different here.

      Sitrep pro was the best perk in the OG mw3 countered deady and you could see equipment the campers laid down

      You're right, there were ways to counter it which ultimately made the perk useless because anyone who wants footsteps would run the counter perk.

    I think the assassin vest should have stayed without a lethal. If you're off the mini map permanently without shooting, you shouldn't be allowed to sit in a corner with a claymore.

      Assassin's Vest only removes Field upgrades, its a nice Vest to use if you want to have a regular COD experience instead of loosing your lethals/tactical or a perk. Camping is not a problem in MWIII

    In my opinion, I don’t see myself using the ninja vest at all. It doesn’t allow me use my scavenger gloves and it only has two gear slots available. As a result, I’d rather stick with my engineer vest and wait for other vests to come out in the remaining seasons of MW3. Maybe an ICU vest that allows for fast health regeneration time after capping objectives or scoring kills like the quick fix perk from previous two Modern Warfare games that I played back then, but the vest should have the ability to charge either the munitions or med box faster and no other field upgrade, have the tactical slot removed, gain access to using two lethals, plus three gear slots. It would be my ideal vest in the game.

    It's decent but I already dropped it again... in my opinion the best setup by far for rushing is still Engineer Vest with Commando Gloves, Covert Sneakers, Mag Holster and Ghost plus 2 Stims and the Munitions Box! Been rocking that basically since release, whenever I try something else I inevitably end up going back to this everytime haha

      I used to pick the CCT Comms Vest over it but I think having Stims is more important than CCT's radar bonuses, especially on small maps

    I'm so glad someone with an actual following and influence was able to get this message out - USING COVERT SNEAKERS DOES NOT MAKE YOU SILENT. I cannot tell you HOW many times I've been called a hacker and reported because I used the sound cues of a player landing off surfaces or moving to prone/standing up. Their immediate claim is always "No way you heard that, this guy is cheating" and I have no idea how to explain to these people that you can still hear them moving, you just can't hear the footsteps.

      Funny enough it was mentioned when they first announced this but that was a typo which sucks. Edit:meant that it allows gloves but that was a typo which sucks majorly

    Back in Black Ops 1 and 2 days, when headsets were crap and cheap footstep audio was great. But nowadays with the way headsets are super clear and have great clarity, those footsteps come through like I herd of elephants. They just needed tone it down. There's no use for loud footsteps when my headset can hear a needle drop

    Lower footstep audio would pretty much stop nobody from using Covert or Assassin without also buffing the other boots as well. Even then I have doubts.

    As a rusher who prioritizes weapon handling above all else, I love the perk because I can now finally use Stalker Boots.

    100% agree that base footstep audio is too loud. It could also open up other "downsides" to make other boots more powerful. Better ADS strafe speed balanced by louder footstep audio, etc.

    About footstep noise reduction.
    One thing few people consider, is that many players put in their settings to auto tac sprint when moving forward, and the tac sprint is the loudest footstep noise in the game. So this affects the perception of how loud footsteps are.
    When I play with a class that doesn't have covert sneakers, I use the stalker boots, and with those builds I clear cover corners in tac stance, many people do not hear me coming.
    So if you are not wearing covert sneakers, be mindful of your running settings and habbits.

    Yes, decrease footstep audio a bit, but I would like to see the bone conduction headset given a buff, too. As of right now, I find it a wasted gear spot when there's EOD, ghost, and cold blood.

    Targeting the base footsteps is a great idea...for console, but pc will and probably already has (as an audio engineering myself) a work around for damping footstep audio pre present in the game.

    Targeting the base footstep audio wouldn't fix things, because the core issue is how footstep audio and the ttk is exploited.
    Covert Sneakers and Dead Silence are popular because without them a person knows you're coming, can pre-aim which gives them a 200ms advantage and pre-fire on top of this. Having an consistent 200ms advantage is typically 2-4 bullets.
    This is why if Bone Conduction was buffed this just means everyone would run Bone Conduction and it makes movement impossible or worst case like in original MW3 everyone would run the equivalent of Bone Conduction with Covert Sneakers.
    The actual issue is you get footstep audio for free without perks as even a 5-10 meter audio range is more then enough for good camping spots. A perk that compete with Ghost and Flak would be a great balancing tool and because it competes with these there is counterplay as the person may appear on your mini-map or be vulnerable to explosives preventing extreme camping.
    This would give footsteps a healthy place in CoD and remove the need for Dead Silence or Covert Sneakers entirely while still allowing both sides who want their Silence or Noise to win.

    I think the other boots are really powerful, but the covert sneakers are a tier above. I think they should leave the boots and foot audio alone. The movement speed and sliding speed from the other boots would be too powerful if they toned down footsteps audio

    I think the assassin vest should not have a gear slot, so no ghost, but u can still do a full stealth set up but you are extremely vulnerable to tacticals and lethals

    I don't think Covert Sneakers need a nerf. The other boots just need a buff. Specifically the Stalker boots. I don't think they do anything. I use the lightweight boots and they "feel" like the stalker boots + other benefits.

    I'm not saying there isn't a vocal minority, but I think the kerfuffle over boots being "useless" is exaggerated, both in terms of whether other boots are actually useless and in terms of how many people use covert sneakers
    I have never used covert sneakers. Not even once to just test them out. I prefer other boots and vests. I also rarely feel like I run into others wearing them. I can hear most players footsteps. It's very rare that I get snuck up on close. Yes, I get shot in the back but usually at range. The only instances I can say for sure where an opponent has been wearing them is the handful of times I've been executed. Almost every single execution has been from someone running covert sneakers
    I don't think there is a problem in the boot category, I think there is a problem with some players needing there footsteps to be silent. There are other perks load outs that you can be just as successful with. No one needs silent footsteps. Certain players want silent footsteps to play the way they want, and in my experience, it isn't a whole hellofalot of them
    I will also acknowledge that I'm a good, but likely not a very good player. There might be a difficulty or skill curve that makes them more necessary when playing in higher skilled lobbies, but I'm willing to bet there are other combinations of perks you can succeed with even in those lobbies

      I agree with this, if everyone is expected to run Covert then people aren't listening for noises.
      If people aren't listening for noises Covert does nothing, in turn making the other boots more viable.
      If people are listening enough for Covert to be needed then the issue is Foot Step Audio itself existing.

    I'm a lot more happy about the fact they added more maps to 10v10 yesterday :)
    Also really like the new maps Vista and Departures. So far SHGames has released some pretty good new maps.

    Welp my dirty, smelly sneakers stay on for exactly the reason you described, same for assassin vest. Also, I would like to see a change for ninja vest, which assassin vest has, no skulls, at least for melee if the vest is so heavily referencing it as ninja.

    The major reason I run Covert is so that PC players using EQ sound programs and audio enhancers take longer to find me because they can hear a gun reloading from the other side of the map. There are no other shoes perk to run if you’re playing with crossplay on.

    Yeah default footsteps need to be lowered, it genuinely makes me laugh how often I can actually hear footsteps on maps like Shipment, the coup de grace to the decibel system of background noise. Also I hope the lack of gloves is a bug, disappointing that it doesn't have them.

    What I was hoping to see before the release of the vest, was that Covert Sneakers would keep being the counter to Bone Cunduction headset, since the express purpose of Covert Sneakers is exclusively making you dead silent. Then on the other hand, Bone Conduction would counter the Ninja vest as it does a lot more things than just specifically make you quiet, so I figured the vest would act like the sneakers to everyone, unless you have Bone Conduction, at which point it's like they don't have either the vest on or the sneakers. It's a shame that they didn't go that route but who knows, maybe they'll change it down the road. 🤷

    Tbh if you ask me, totally silent movement is a crutch all around. Hipfire running should be the 'yeah totally safe to move around all you want' option while there should be risk with sprinting. Covert sneakers should make everything silent except REGULAR sprinting/running. If you want a fast silent push, you have to alternate movement styles between tac sprinting and hipfire jogging, and be aware of your stamina- but Bone conduction should be able to hear covert tac sprinting at a low level. There's a reason it was made a field upgrade and they just botched the execution. Getting a kill because you're wandering aimlessly and happening across someone who checked your entrance 3 seconds too early and looked away should not be rewarded.

    Dude, it’s silent running and you can use the shoes to run faster, AND the throwing knife can be used as a melee
    I’m using the WSP smg with movement tip and underbarrel, 20 round mag, no stock.
    These together give you the most hip movement, sprint + tac sprint speed in game.

    i definitely prefer this perk system to the last one, but it really feels like there is way too much crutch gear. imo you shouldn't be able to equip Ghost vest AND Coverts, or Ninja vest and Ghost. the only way you should be able to combine the two should be with gear and a different vest. its too damn crutch and every other perk suffers because of this system.

    Honestly turning the base footstep audio down would if anything make the issue worse. I know many folks whom have quit/left Warzone due to the footstep audio and how “quiet” it is allowing for many to get a drop when reasonably they should’ve heard them coming. It would reduce the use of covert sneaks potentially but that ain’t Garuanteed as it will always be a superior option to just limiting/removing the audio entirely. In my personal opinion I’d say dead silence in any form should be regulated back to a field upgrade I think that was perfect to handle it risk reward and benefit all in one without it being overly oppressive or game breaking.

    I feel like in terms of getting shit done. Demo, engineer, overkill. These are the best vests to wear. You have access to the most variety of gear, perk, weapon combos.

    It needs a buff. If you still have to run the tac mask to be immune from the Movement speed reduction from a tear gas grenade they should at least give you 2 gear slots. The tac mask needs a buff too if we're being honest. Bocw had the perfect tac mask.

    I think the salutation for boots is to buff them, make the stalker boots like Modern Warfare 3 and add something on top of climbing boots like no fall damage (if that doesn’t exist already idk)

    I didn't wanna use it because I thought it was bugged not having gloves. I still prefer running engineer, with 2 stims, 2 gear perks, and covert sneakers. I wish this ninja vest replenished stims rather than throwing knives.
    Also I definitely agree on reducing base footsteps. That's 100% the balance change needed next. Would instantly freshen up the game and create way more variety in classes.

    The ninja vest is a really nice alt playstyle, but the assassin vest offers more IMO. It offers 1 of every slot whilst giving ghost and hiding enemy death skulls which I feel is slept on. I know you can still have that by using certain weapons, but being able to have that on every gun is just so dang nice.
    Obvi not gonna put someone down for using an alt playstyle, but I need my scav gloves!

    Vanguard handled base footstep audio very well, with that being said I have no problem with covert sneakers being a crutch perk.

    Stun doesn’t affect your forward or backwards movement at all. Just turning left or right

    I did try this vest with weapon attachments that reduce movement, and my perception is that the movement nerf was not as noticeable with this vest, but that could just be wishful thinking. Totally silent footsteps are great in a game, but not real-world. If the sound detection distance was reduced and not eliminated, as per your suggestion, I think this would be better for gameplay, imo.

    I rarely play MP with headphones on. Game's audio is really more of a distraction than a help. My last team deathmatch game on Stash house (that map is awesome btw) was 31/4 with zero audio. I'm not a sweat, just a casual. If anything, the audio hurts my play due to how they prioritize everything else over what's actually important.

    Maybe the footstep audio could be reduced some, but honestly, silencing footstep audio entirely with covert sneakers will always be better than any perks the other boots provide even if the base footstep audio is reduced. I think the other boots need to be buffed and that there should definitely be a counter for silent footsteps.

      Historically awareness (bone conduction) went even or slightly in favor of dead silence, god it’s so frustrating listening for the jangling of keys just to hear an enemy

      If there is a counter the counter is often just ran, making it into the complete opposite of everyone using Bone Conduction. People run the counter perk and then just listen for footsteps all the time to the point where you're forced to run Dead Silence even if partially countered or be heard from so far away as people are listening specifically 24-7.

      @@hyuugaamida Yeah this is what my second gadget is, but it’s more a bandaid as you can’t see footprints of people that are on different heights or places that don’t have vision. Definitely helpful in knowing if someone is near atleast

    This vest is decent if you can double dip ammo for your primary and secondary, since I always run scavenger for my gloves. Now that the boots opened up, the lightweight boots just feel fun to use

    I also think they need to add like a protection once u go into the execution it would be really nice if nobody could kill u or the person u r executing there is nothing more annoying then getting an execution just for someone else to kill ur victim or u get killed thats why they need to make it so nothing can happen to anyone once the execution sequence has started

    The perk system in this game is overcomplicated for no reason. At least it's not MW2 complicated. But just give us three normal perk slots. We don't need this additional overall perk. All it does is force you to limit other parts of your class setup unnecessarily. It's stupid.

    people complained so fast about the ninja vest being too good right away so they went and nerfed it. its kind of sad imo to see devs not knowing how to dev anymore and releasing bad or broken content to the game until they get feedback. either way, i dont think taking gloves away was the step for this vest. something like only being able to have a knife secondary and only have stars or throwing knife with restriction to only smoke as well would fit the vest much more.

    I would like to see a gunslinger or operator vest that either allowed you to put more attachments on your stuff or allowed faster swap speed aim down sight speed and reload speed turn the light bringing back the Pick 10 system from Black Ops 2 to where you can just fully built towards a gun fighting class and you dominate just with a well-built gun

    Best case I found for the Ninja vest is to use it with an LMG and pair stalker boots with it.

    The core problem is still that they strayed away from the necessity to have dead silence as a field upgrade. This gear system is overly complicated and unbalanced. Also having no info and dying from silent rushers all the time is just cheap

    I belive footstep audio could be quieter. Bone conduction set should be buffed and counter covert sneakers to maybe 50% and buff normal footstep audio to the level of today. Because you have to trade perk slot for that!

    As long as covert sneakers reduce your foot steps by 100% they will be overpowered and picked over the others out of pure competitiveness. And this is even with your suggestion of nerfed defualt footstep audio. It's really the fact that it ELIMINATES audio. If it was only to REDUCE audio, your suggestion would actually be balanced.

    i wouldnt mind maybe a 20-30 percent decrease in base footstep audio, but i also think that paired with that should come the bone conduction headset buff to be able to hear players with covert sneakers or the assassin vest. also i wish they still let you use the gloves with this vest, it is unfortunate that they do not lol

    The gloves not being available ruins it for me. I wanted to run this with Tac Pads so I could be silent and also ADS while sliding. I don't see a reason to use this now, personally.

    My honest opinion is yes they should turn down standard footsteps, however all perks should have an easy counter and I feel dead silence is one of them.
    By all means turn down standard footsteps but also make it so either 1 Bone Conduction headset should Eliminate dead silence or at least make is so the gear sway is better heard on peoples clothes, I find this very inconsistent to the point I defo feel some operators do not have this sound I would love @xclusiveace if you could test a few and see if this is in fact true???

    All the best are fine, you have to master your style of play and the stages before finding that good mix-up. Buff and Nerf isn’t the answer it causes inconsistency.

    Stuns still slow down your aim turn speed, so you can move faster, but turn so slow.

    The glove removal is a pretty big ding against it for me. Honestly makes it not worth using imo. I really wanted to couple it with either scav or ord gloves or so I could maximize knives, but there's just better combos for it while using the sneakers instead.
    As for footsteps, I think toning down base footstep audio a bit is good but I still think bone conduction as a counter perk should be in there too.

    No gloves is a hard pass for me. I always run the gloves that give me better ADS speed and accuracy while jumpshotting because I jumpshot a lot. Any vest that removes my ability to run those gloves is worthless to me.

    Hey Ace, love your content and I have been watching you since BO2 released. Can you make a short video regarding the known and glaring in fixed bugs in the game, to get the devs attention?
    For example, there are bugs within gun smith where attachments are improperly rendered, lock other weapon modifications, do not provide the benefits from the attachment description. For example, the Lockwood MK2 does not render the 22.5" EXF ALAMO barrel correctly. If selected, you cannot apply underbarrel attachments, despite this barrel allowing you to do so in MW2 due to it having picatinny/mlok rails. Changing the guard on the Lockwood MK2 also still does not allow you select underbarrel attachments.
    Another one is the 14" BREUN ECHELEON barrel for the M13C. This same exact barrel correctly provides a recoil reduction as stated per the item description when applied to the M13B but does not apply it to the M13C.
    Also for the RAM-7, the SO KLONDIKE-45 LONG BARREL does not apply the recoil, range, and damage benefits as described in the attachment's item description. These are few attachments that I have noticed but I strongly believe there are other bugs within gunsmith and weapon attachments.

    Most players that use footstep audio to locate enemy players use some sort of combination of settings to make them more apparent. Reducing the sound of footsteps could help. Not sure to what degree. Maybe cap the distance of footstep audio to an even closer distance?

    As an mouse player I think giving up the glove slot for this vest is too much. I need every little advantage I can get, reducing flinch and sway is too important.

    I don’t know if anybody knows this the ninja vest also can’t be seen by using the UAV. I tried it before. Can no one see me. I didn’t even use ghost I’ve been paying attention to it for two months you’re welcome for the update. If not, I guess they might’ve changed it or something thanks for the video. I had to skip it to the end just to make sure. Plus I’ll be using running sneakers too to catch enemy faster

    dont forget the silent melee part its silent alright but the live audio que isnt😂. and with the stuns you cant really turn much tried turing at an angle after stunned but wasnt doing much only straight.
    speaking of live audio ques the signal jammer is too loud and has a big radius when near an explosive giving away your position due to the loud live audio ques. now i alternate between eod and ghost depending on the match with climbing boots

    The fact you can't use quick grip gloves to throw your knives faster with this vest seems to be pretty counter intuitive.... Why would I not just use the Demolition vest with quick grip gloves, covert sneakers, and ghost/tac mask? I get to regen tacticals too??

    One of the few kits that I’d really want gloves other than the overkill vests. Hmm idk I feel gloves should be on this but u don’t get anything crazy. I mean covert sneakers with ghost vest makes more sense imo
