Just wanted to ask an odd question. Will be very helpful if you please reply! Someone with good scores, almost 3 years since graduation and doesn't have anything related to radiology in the CV. If he applies for prelim IM spots in the soap with the hope that he may get an advanced position in diagnostic radiology next year. Is it being too much optimistic or is it possible even without prior radiology electives or research? ( Considering all the Lors and research will be from the prelim year). Also please tell me if there will be any problem with a gap of one year with J1 while waiting for the advanced position next year. Thanks in anticipation!

Hello umar bhai, if a person wants to apply in 2 fields, IM and psych example, do they need to make 2 different applications? Does it cost double the money? And what does it mean by applying widely? 30 programs? 50 programs???
Yes- double cost, double money and double hassle. 80-120 programs.
