Your video has been so helpful, thank you mere pakistani bhai for making me feel better, I have been chasing residency for the past 4 years without any success but I want to get into pharmaceutical jobs and make a better living now. My sincere suggestion to everyone dont undervalue yourself and work for low paid jobs. Dont let the other people tell you are nothing without residency, you are still a doctor and nobody can take that title away from you. Make your education useful in smart ways.
I am not a clinical doctor , but a PhD doctor. I studied biotechnology and now working as a head/principal investigator of the inhalation toxicology lab at the HHS/FDA. We also have a lot of MDs working here in the labs. My friends who completed their postdocs here at the FDA, moved to pharmaceuticals industries and most of them were hired around 180-190k starting salary. So research is a huge thing here in the US!!
I watch your videos every now nd then..such a good personality with an open heart..u could a good mentor for many young graduates ❤..i hope you stay happy and progress in every aspect of your life, sir!
There is another option which involves finishing residency in Pakistan, India , Gulf Countries or UK and then you apply for fellowship programs in USA. In this pathway you finish your fellowship training ( mainly in the fields of Nephrology, Infectious Disease, Geriatrics, Palliative medicine etc) and then retrospectively do residency in IM and get board certification. This is an excellent option as alot of good programs need fellows in above mentioned subspecialities and it paves the way for board certification in USA.
I like this video - I think this is a proactive broad- minded approach to a clinical related and non- clinical career paths. I thank you for making this video and sharing your insight at the end. I had researched about PA schools but the pre-requisites were ridiculous for foreign medical graduates. Could you please recommend some schools that are more FMG friendly
i know one guy, he graduated in 1996 from pakistan, went to US in 1999, but couldnt finshed steps, but he didnt leave IUS, and married a ;local girl , he did odd jobs, then his own business, finally at age 53, he took admission in osteopathic medicine in 2023

Thank you so much for all content you upload, it is immensely helpful. I wanted to ask if there is a difference between a research assistant and a research fellow? Which term would be more appropriate to use when sending out emails for a research opportunity.
Thank you for your kind words. Please listen to this video: ruclips.net/video/n2obEEUs-U8/видео.html Research assistant is more like an intern whereas fellow is like a clinical fellow. You typically start as an assistant unless you have some research experience.
