Hello sir ..good info..should i score high marks into getting into alternate pathway or passing is sufficient?
do you think alternative pathway is extremly competitive?
or cons ?
Will there be any restriction after alternate pathway for board certification. Is it possible to work in private practice independently or have to be limited in some academic settings only.
What are the least competitive fellowships?
Could u do a video on non ACGME fellowhips.its requirements and how to get into it.thank you
It's the same as ACGME fellowships but less competitive relatively!
Just to sum it up :
1. Get Excellent Board Scores
2. Get a research spot and crank out high quality research.
3. Network with other radiologists, build connections.
4. Try to get at least 3 months clinical experience in Radiology.
5. Get high quality LOR’s
6. Apply for the match!
Please correct me If Im wrong.
Cannot agree more. Completely agreed!
So much useful details. Thank you.
If possible, please arrange similar guidance sessions for surgical specialties as there is a lot of ambiguity about matching in surgical residencies. NRMP MATCH data shows General Surgery is achievable with step scores of 240,s and around 10,15 publications, but from what i have seen, seniors put multiple years in research to get matched. Also i dont know how confident i should feel about my research publications which are in Pakistan and are not related to surgical specialties when i want to apply for surgical residencies.
If we could please get some guidance about pathways for matching into surgical residencies, if there are any, i shall be forever grateful.
God bless you.
