They made residency easier now in term of hours and responsibility.. Was much more rigorous prior to 2009, I say 2009 because that is when the big NEJM article on doctor hours came out. It was bogus, they compared docs to pilots and truck drivers and being drunk. Now they realize it wasn't a problem prior and are going back. Now a lot of "lifestyle docs" are not weeded out. Great conversation.

Sorry bud but himachal pays 40k, bengal 45, odisha 50k, tn 45k, Kerala 40k, karnataka 50k, Telangana 55k, Assam 48k, Bihar 65k, j&k 50k, I'm forgetting some of states which pay less. Almost all of dnb institutions pay 35-45k. Up, delhi, haryana, rajasthan only these pay okayish compared to the work a resident puts in and bonda are also there in almost every state

Please make a video about the time it will take to complete USMLE. Like if I will give step 1 after 2nd year/3rd year and then after 4th year I will give step 2. Medical education has become too expensive and unaffordable for underprivileged people. Also the amount of toxicity in healthcare is draining a lot of passionate doctors to quit medicine altogether. Personally, I have seen some of my passionate colleagues getting undervalued and disrespected by a lot of the faculty and the college administration. If you kill the passion itself, how is it gonna help the country? Going to other countries for betterment of your education and where your passion and efforts will be valued isn't necessarily a bad thing. It's a personal choice. A lot of doctors trained in the US bring their knowledge and experience back to India to give quality care to the people of India and that is something to be acknowledged and appreciated

Btw In india doctor get paid during their residency like 70 k to 90k depending on whether the institute under central government or state.
