    • @DieselPowerProducts
      @DieselPowerProducts  3 года назад +1

      Hi Rott! If we have identical Excursions, you my friend are one cool dude. :) That offset looks like it would be around a 3.75" back space, I don't carry any wheels that would meet those specs. Most will have a 4-4.5" backspace which will be around a -12 offset. -Ben

    • @DieselPowerProducts
      @DieselPowerProducts  4 года назад

      Sorry for the late response! The wheels were 17X9 with a 4.75 back space. The did rub on the leaf springs at full lock. The flag was done by CW Wraps in Post Falls, ID.

  • @psygnale
    @psygnale 5 лет назад +4

    Got TONS of questions on those 37s...
    Are they rubbing the springs on full lock?
    What's the wheel/tire specs? (specifically tire size and wheel width/backspacing)
    I have an 03" 6.0 (Literally exact same trim and color as yours, and probably built within 1-2 months of yours as well) with the CT Performance full kit that has given me another 3 inches.
    Looking to get the "stuffed" look with as tall and wide tire as I can get away with, but I keep getting different stories on what hits and what won't.
    From my measurements, looks like a lot has to do with backspacing...I'm thinking 35x12.5 with 4.7" backspace (-44 offset) and >maybe< a thin shim would allow full lock-to-lock turns (I'm fully anticipating some wheelwell/fender trimming, no biggie there).
    Does this sound doable from what you've seen on your rig?

    • @DieselPowerProducts
      @DieselPowerProducts  4 года назад

      Sorry for the late response. The wheels were 17x9 with a 4.75" backspace. When the lift was first installed, it had 35's with the same wheels. No rubbing at all. With the 37's there is rubbing at full lock. I think you are on the right path. Given this comment is from a year ago, I assume you already made a call. If so, let us know how it went!!

    • @DieselPowerProducts
      @DieselPowerProducts  4 года назад

      They are hard to find with low miles on them in general. Beyond that, they will cost quite a bit if you do happen to find it. In stock form the 7.3 Excursion is rated for 10,000lbs. -Ben

    Got a big family. Debating between an Excursion or an E-350 to convert to 4wd. I know the E-350 will cost more. I’m seeing 7.3 diesels in MY price range with 240k miles on them. How much more life can I expect to get out of a rig like this?

    • @DieselPowerProducts
      @DieselPowerProducts  4 года назад

      On a rig with that many miles on it you will be the one replacing the injectors, turbo, HPOP, and probably a slew of suspension parts. If they have already been done, you can easily see over 300K+ with proper maintenance. I would not be to worried on a higher mileage EX, so long as it has records and has been well maintained. -Ben

    • @DieselPowerProducts
      @DieselPowerProducts  3 года назад

      Basics on the 7.3 are a great place to start. Those entail intake, tuner, and exhaust. If you have a tuner on the truck already, I would look into an exhaust and intake. After that either a turbo or possibly injectors and HPOP. All depends on budget and use of the vehicle. Shoot us a call if you have any questions or want to get an order going. I have a 2002 excursion 7.3 4x4 same identical truck, i have S&B intake, 4 inch exhaust with diesel flow throw muffler, everything ealse is stock. i have quad gauges piller. so i live in az and i occasionally tow 18400 lbs gcvw, at 70 mph with overdrive on my EGTs are at 1010 °f and boost stays at 9psi at flat lands. when i go on step hill my EGTs climb to 1220° F , i want to add the CKTURBO but i cant decide what AR size to go with. what do you recommend. also i was looking at 160 or 180 injecter.

    • @DieselPowerProducts
      @DieselPowerProducts  4 года назад

      Sorry for the late response. Not terribly familiar with the CKTURBO, assuming it is at least a 66MM compressor wheel. The 180CC injectors should work well. I would stick with a 1.0 Housing. Make sure you have custom tuning, and do an upgrade HPOP.

      I was getting 13-14 mpg when I had 8 inch lift w 37s on my 01 7.3. I can imagine with some of the extra tune-ups he has plus the smaller lift, getting a couple miles per gallon better than that should be easy

    • @DieselPowerProducts
      @DieselPowerProducts  4 года назад +1

      Sorry for the late response! Around town it was 14-16 MPG. On the highway cruising at 85MPH it was 15MPG. Dropping down to 70MPH it was getting 20MPG. Not too bad for a brick on 37's.

    Economically which motor requires less work,gasoline or diesel????I won't be towing at all,trips and city driving....

    • @DieselPowerProducts
      @DieselPowerProducts  4 года назад +1

      There is a good argument to be made on the gas V10 being less work, while making similar power. If you never tow, and just accept that your mileage will always be around 10-12MPG, the V10 is not a bad option. They are less money to purchase, but also less desirable, so don't plan on turning it for a profit. I would say if you are towing or driving LONG distances, look for a diesel. If you are probably never towing, or just not regularly, and not taking super long road trips a lot, the gas V10 will get the job done. BUT I will say, at the end of the day, an SUV of that size with a diesel, just makes you happy. :) -Ben
