I’m 17 and I set my first beaver traps a few days ago with the help of your videos I got my first beaver and it was a big 50 pounder! Thank you for all the educational videos it helped me a ton!
That is awesome!
Congrats mate keep trapping !!!!
@@330Maniac you do realize that someone will blame you for get him addicted to trapping ha lol
Please google “beaver keystone species”. You’re doing a LOT of damage.
@@rustyshackleford5542 Please google reasons for beaver trapping. You're doing a lot of damage with your misinformation
Need to invent an underwater motion-activated trail cam
That's a good idea
It is called a ziploc bag
Yes this needs to happen!
Trail cam in a Clear waterproof box
Definitely need more under water videos of the sets when you can. GREAT VIDEO!!
Now that's some great footage there. Thank you.
Greetings to you Sir from North Wales in the UK. Great video!
The GoPro footage is awesome. It gave me a few ideas for my traps sets I hadn’t thought of. Thanks!!!
wow, very clear>>>>>>>thanks well done!!
I loved this. Back in the day, oh what memories. You did good and keep it up. Then you get too old and it's guys like you who keep the art alive.
Love the underwater footage. Very cool
Well under water very good. And big beaver.👍😏
The 2nd half was extremely educational for a newbie. Thanks, man.
Awesome underwater footage ! Always enjoy your videos Scott. Keep them coming.
Awesome vid bud I love to see the sets under water. Great job as usual
Love the underwater footage. That river is crystal clear! Definitely need more
Is there specific times when u put the trigger on the top or bottom of the trap
Heck yeah! Thank you for sharing the underwater footage, helpful to better understand what's going on down there.
It's like Christmas. Santa Mackner keeps bringing us gifts
great video again
Thanks Scott! Keep em coming!!
this is the best video and explanation of beaver trapping inside the water.
Great video as always! Loved the underwater footage also! Thanks!
awesome video, I miss trapping so much! Love all your other videos aswell, keep em coming!!
I miss trapping. Did it back in the 80's and 90's when fur prices were amazing.
That's insanely clear water. Very cool! Thank you for showing this, learning a lot! More underwater footage!
You asked about safe trapping with dogs in the area? I actually used your videos to do that this spring. I used a Michigan legal cable restraint which includes break away and deer stop, to make my drowner set. I used your snare mounting system and installed the drowning rod right next to the snare support stick, then made the snare fasten end as short as possible to the slider. It was installed on a very used crossover from a pond to a dammed up drainage ditch. The snare was more than “half in”. If a dog managed to get in that, which I doubt, then it would be a foot catch and the deer stop would set him free. Blammo, first night!
Nice job! That would be a good spot to put one of those float/castor sets out in the river. That way there’s no risk for catching any pets.
The conibear on the h stand looked slightly of to one side of the run . When a big beaver see's another 1 in a conibear it most likely snare time
Very helpful to see what sets actually look like underwater.
Good footage. Totally agree with the trapping ethics.
Great spot, you ever fish that lake that feeds into there for pike?(or know where panfish are in the winter on that lake, do real well in the summer but no idea where to go there in the winter)
I watch a trapper's youtube channel from Idaho and he actually posts signs along roads warning dog owners of traps set in the general area. That normally keeps dog walkers away from his traps. When he removes the traps, the sign are removed too.
Idfg has those signs available to us to print off, but it's up to our discretion to use them or not, personally if I'm in an area where I'm worried about it, I just set elsewhere
That was fantastic. Thanks for the footage. Too bad most beaver habitat isn't that clear.
Always enjoy
Amazing visibility; thanks for adding that underwater footage.
Man, I am so glad you showed the thumb safety trick. I handle these things like a bomb about to go off. I am shocked at how nonchalantly some of these people handle these traps. I didn't know the thumb trick 🤦
You have anymore handy tricks?
Did enjoy the video, thanks for sharing. The underwater shots were awesome. I'm glad I found your channel, it brings back memories thanks again.
i'm surprised there wasn't fish in that channel... and now i got to shame (call me a KAREN) all of your subscribers for not clicking that thumbs up....REEEEEEE
thx for the underwater vids...I can now see where you are jamming the stakes on the 330's. Great video!
Excellent video! I really enjoy the under water footage. It gives you a different perspective on what they do!
Very good underwater shots
I love the underwater footage it's awesome. Thanks
Thanks man nothing pisses me off more than ppl trapping in high traffic areas. Love your vids keep fighting the good fight and be safe out there ✌️
So why do you trap these beavers? Is it for their skins or do you eat them?
Both and many,many more reasons
the clear water was awesome to show your sets . love the footage .
Great underwater footage. I have a spot almost exactly like the one where you caught the beaver, crystal clear water, bank den with fresh gravel pushed up. I can only use 330's fully submerged 10 feet from the den. Water is fairly deep, 3-4 feet, it looks like they come into from multiple directions since there is minimal debris in the water in front of it. Is it possible to put a couple large sticks/branches to guide them to enter in one spot 10 feet out or should I not set there? Thanks
Love the underwater footage! Very enlightening.
Awesome under water video!! Hopefully people that don’t understand how beaver work this will help them out!!
That underwater video was cool as all hell .
I knew a girl once, her name was Wynona, she had a big brown beaver, it was pretty tame. I remember she used to stroke it all the time.
Love the under water footage! Thank you!
That was really great!! The underwater footage gave a whole new look to this. I really appreciate that. And you are totally right about NOT setting traps where someone or their dog might get in it. (if it's there, you KNOW some idiot will find it) And the sport does not need any negative publicity from upset people!! Thanks for your consideration and advice.
Just keep the camera there, I want to see live catch 😁
Awesome video . It looked like a beaver could go around the H trap and directly in front of it were obstructions
Loved the HD underwater stuff.
Great under water video, thanks.
Great video! Thanks for posting. 👍
That was awesome it really clearified what to look for and whats going on underwater *** great job***
underwater part was 10/10 scotty so awesome id watch an hour of that.
Do you know where I can get some beaver board stencils? I tried getting ahold of FHA and they never got back to me, my boards were given to me, and they could use replaced or touched up...
You can get paper ones online for free or you can buy one for 20 bucks from mn trapline
Thank you for all your trapping videos. My daughter and I in our first week trapped 2 beavers (#30 each). We found the runs and put some #330's in and the rest is history! Great videos, thank you!!
Congratulations!!!
As always great video. Good advice at the end about being responsible.
Should set go pro up and record the trap getting a beaver that would be cool to see
The under water part was awesome
That was amazing!
Another learning video.. Thanks for your efforts.. I really enjoy your trapping videos.
That underwater video is super cool . Unbelievable what they can do
this was great, i finally have a clear idea of how the trap sits underwater. i know this question has probably been asked many times but what do you do with the trapped beaver? do you skin them yourself? something else?
Sell them usually
Thanks😎 for the underwater foorage
Awesome video like always keep up the good work
Cool footage, sure is neat being able to see that. Nice big beaver as well. Keep them coming love it. Al
Cool video, really like the underwater footage. Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely love it keep it coming
That underwater video is great! Thank you for sharing that. Love the videos man!
BTW, great message at the end.
Love it man I trap cats and canines myself never messed with wAter trapping much but you make it look pretty easy 😂
I would do that, but most of the water that I trap here in Texas is mud and walmart sacks.
We used to fish a stream for trout at my buddy's golf course. I would often see chewed sticks from beaver. We fished that thing a mile up and a mile down from those sticks and never saw feed piles. We fished it in winter, spring, summer, and fall. What am I missing?
I don't trap but still want to understand what I'm seeing.
Awesome channel. Please keep them coming.
Somewhere up or down that river is a lodge or den where the beaver are living. Generally they will make a feed pile to sustain them through the winter to eat
Good job, love all the beaver videos
is trapper j going live tonight
the under water footage was awesome!
very much enjoyed the video. You're gonna have to come up to my place and help me with my beavers...bring your camera! ha ha, thanks for the great footage.
Good catch on the beaver and love the underwater video!👍🏻😎
Excellent
I watched one of your videos where you sent off a large black beaver pelt to be tanned. I thought you said it was some company out in Iowa, do you mind sharing what company you use to have a pelt tanned?
It went to Mayle Tannery
That's some clear water ✌️
that's really cool!!!!!!!
Love this video, i have learned over the years. Been beaver trapping myself a few years, in South Georgia. Starting a RUclips channel any advice is welcome. Gary L Frye outdoors Keep up the good work.
How can I send you picture ? I have a question about something coming out the bottom of this beaver. It's not castor.
This is awesome
I was seriously hoping you brought your marcum and had an underwater catch lol
Just out of curiosity. What is the reason for killing beavers. What the purpose?
Honestly you should Google why beaver need to be trapped. Its to much to explain here
Love the underwater footage! Too bad a game cam wont work underwater! I would like to start snaring beaver too.
cool underwater video, and nice sets. 👍👍👍👍
cool
Like the underwater shots and video. Would like to see more of the underwater sets.
Awesome vide!
great tip about keeping your thumb out of the trap
Awesome videos man. Very tasteful editing vs some other trapping youtubers. 👌🏽
Very good
What kind of glasses are they again?
Relavant sunglasses
Is there a link to the glasses? I’m only finding replacement lenses searching that name.
rlvnt.life/
Thank you so much, I’ve tried a lot of polarized glasses for water trapping. I need to see the bottom. Most don’t work very well for water trapping.
what do you do with the dead beavers?
