    This shows that the water draining from the forest is dark and clear because it's undisturbed land but the cloudy water draining from the fields is carrying away fertile top soil. I've watched a lot of your videos and agree with you that a collapse is very satisfying. What you are doing is protecting farm yields which keeps the food prices down, and you're doing it in a very environmentaly friendly way. Keep going, and thank you.

    If you want to keep the beavers from coming back or from settling in an area to start with, run a piece of field tile down the channel of the creek, ditch, culvert or stream. For a small ditch a piece of 4 inch slotted tile will work fine. Just lay it in and stake it down every 1 feet or so. When the beavers try to dam the ditch the water just keeps flowing and they can't figure out how to stop it because it flows into the tile along the whole length. Works like a champ. The bigger the waterway the bigger tile you will need.

    I have heard conflicting reports where others have said that Beaver dams are actually a benefit to the environment. Particularly due to the way the Beavers slow the flow of water and help it stay in areas longer and to moisten the surrounding landscape. But I guess it depends on where it is and how much rainfall that area gets. The process of slowing the flow of water down is very useful and beneficial in countries that lack adequate rainfall.

    • @asteria4279
      @asteria4279 Год назад +27

      There are a benefit in ecology, but definitely considered pests by humans if they are interfering with food production. This situation is very different from a wild area or park, and huge drainage infrastructure indicates they don't suffer from water deficits.

      @PlutozReal 10 месяцев назад +5

      They're a benefit for natural streams because they make ponds that support diverse ecosystems that feed the surrounding area. But given the placement next to the farm fields this is clearly a drainage canal, not a natural stream. So the water it's backing up is not creating a diverse ecosystem, it's just causing problems.

It was great fun, though we did end up eroding the stream badly in parts as the rushing water carried all the nice sand on the bottom with it to the last section near our school. Such good fun.

    I had to watch it over and over. With the drone you could see how really saturated the fields were.💥💥💥💥👏.

    I saw a lot of videos with removals of beaver dams, but this is the best

    It's amazing watching this guy, he works out exactly what to remove to destabilize the structure, and lets the water blow the bottom of the dam out and wash it away, incredible!

    Another excellent dam collapse. The volume of water moved a ton of mud, and wood. You're quite the engineer of collapsing dams!

    It would be cool to have a camera 100m or so down stream to catch the rush of water after the collapse! My new favorite youtube channel!

    That is one great video. The way the dam collapsed is great. I knew the dam was getting ready to go when the water behind the dam started bubbling. You had mentioned that in one of the 1st. videos i watched. Scary and awesome.

    Wow, what a nice collapse. You must have been elated by what you have achieved. You are an asset to your village doing a noble act like this. Very commendable for helping the farmers in your village. I just love watching your videos because we do not have beavers in my country. I am from the Philippines but l enjoy watching your videos ever since l started viewing them maybe three months ago. It is very relaxing waiting and anticipating for the collapse of the dam. That is why l called you the Dsmbuster. I look forward to seeing more of your exciting and fascinating adventure. God bless and be careful always. I think your name is Mantas? Please correct me if l am wrong. Thank you.

    I love seeing how quick the water dropped from around the edges. Soon as it dropped u could see a good foot become above water line again after ages

    I’ve seen a ton of damn breaking videos and that’s one of the most satisfying for sure. Most people just rip it from the top but to see it collapse more naturally is far more entertaining

    Very dramatic collapse! You are not man against nature, but man in tune with nature. 😃😃great recording and work. Saving fields from turning into marshland is critical. No farms no food!
