Van's worship song to the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY, JESUS is HIS NAME!!!!! I can't stop weeping tears of joy!!! Van 1 of the most incredible gifts from the LORD from & for our so-blessed BOOMER Generation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If someone had told Jay 3 years ago he'd be lost in lyrics and a slow song he'd probably have laughed at you. Looking at the bliss on both your faces to piano, violins and a beautiful song is wonderful. ❤ I love how you've 'grown' musically since the 'old days of "never heard of Queen" 😂🎉
Van Morrison has been my biggest surprise on your channel. I came in knowing Brown Eyed Girl and Domino, but every other Van Morrison song you've reacted to I've liked. I did know this song, but I thought Rod Stewart's version was the original. Likewise, I also knew Crazy Love, but I thought Brian McKnight's version was the original. Thank you guys for opening my eyes. I now know what a true legend Van Morrison is.
Rod Stewart was on Tonight Show with Jay Leno talking about Rod's version. Jay asked about Rod writing the song and Rod said he wish he had/could, but it was Van the man. They both bowed down to Van's talent.
“At the end of the day we should give thanks and pray to the one, saying ‘have told you lately that I love you?’” I would love to hear a reaction to “Did ye get healed?”
@@stevegirard-voiceaudiopodcasts Yes, as a huge Van Morrison fan, his string of albums "Avalon Sunset," "Enlightenment," and the double album "Hymns To The Silence" all were written during his period of spiritual rediscovery. This song was devine love letter to God. These recordings, I've listened frequently while battling health issues for inspiration and meditation.
Rod Stewart does a beautiful cover version, recorded only a couple years later (1991), which was one of his last big "hits". I know your love for both these artists. You guys should also react to Rod's cover of Tom Waite's Downtown Train, 1990.
I love the original Downtown Train with Tom Waite. The Rod Stewart version is good too, but Tom Waite is a truly unique artist, I can't see anyone else doing a better Downtown Train.
I have a soft spot for the Everything But The Girl cover of Downtown Train. One of the few songs that Tracey Thorn and Ben Watt sing as a duet with alternating leads. Nice piano too.
This recording is as close to perfect as a love song gets. The divinely inspired lyrics; the lovely piano, gentle guitars and sweeping violins; and Mr. Morrison's soulful, emotive vocals. Wow. Thank you, Van, for a song that I love to dance to with my beautiful wife every chance I get. 😊
I'm a huge fan of Van Morrison. I was born in 1960 and grew up hearing brown eyed girl on the radio loved it. But I really became a big fan when I was twenty. I was a house party and was looking for my boyfriend and I found him in the basement with a bunch of people listening to a Van Morrison album. That was when I really became a real fan. I went out the next day and bought that album and many others came after that. He was as timeless then as he is now.
If you told me you are going to a desert island forever and you can only have ONE artist's music with you, Van would be the man. His catalogue is huge, and full of amazing, breathtaking music that never gets old.
I went to see him many years ago in Dublin. It was a pleasure to witness the talent of him and the members of his band. He waited till the end to play his classics and it brought the house down.
I love this channel because I grew up listening to a lot of these artists and never really cared for them, but I appreciate them much more when focused on each song and paying attention to all the nuances that went into the performances. The best family on RUclips, indeed!
I hope sometime you will check Van’s “Someone Like You”. IMO, even more beautiful than this. Perfect love song for anyone who really searches and finds ❤️. The strings are 🔥 in the song.
Guys, I'm 70 years old & Van the Man has been around since I was in Junior High School. His group "Them" had a hit "Gloria" way back then. So many good songs. Great lyrics. Check out "It Stoned Me", "Whenever God Shines His Light", & "Days Like This". The man is a treasure.
@@angelbulldog4934 The way I went balls to the wall in the 60s and 70s I’m mildly surprised, but grateful for every day. If you’ve ever listened to the Bellamy Brothers song Old Hippie and the three sequels 2, 3 and 4, each spaced about ten years apart it mirrors a lot of my life (and maybe yours too). Check them out and let me know.
@@Paladin70 I love that song! Old hippie is right, creaky knees and all. It'd a miracle I'm still here. I was lost in addiction for over 20 years. I could've killed many others and myself. Grateful daily I had a different outcome so I could be here to chat with lovely people like you. 🙂
Back in the good times my ex with his terrible singing voice would sing this one to me 💕. VM was one of his favorites. This takes me back. We made it 36 years so yeah lots to remember. Thanks for the smiles today. 💕🦩💕
I recently went to a Van Morrison tribute afternoon at a popular local pub. While it may not have been Van Morrison himself .. the afternoon was filled with the best music , one hit after another. Thanks for the sublime music Van Morrison ❤
Lucky to see Van Morrison live a few times. He’s mercurial and it can be over quickly or last for 3-4 hours. I remember one where an uber fan shouted out ‘ play brown eyed girl Van’ every time there was a gap in the music. He lasted 3 songs before he walked off and didn’t come back.
Van's song "Someone Like You" is one of the most play Wedding Songs ever. Pure love lyrics with beautiful singing. You should give it a listen if you liked this.
I never thought about it before, but it does sound like he’s talking to God - put God first and everything else will fall place. Of course, we should never fail to tell someone we love them. We used to have a pastor who would close every sermon by saying “Go and be with the people you love, and let them know that you love them.”
Thanks so much for this one. Please listen to "Wild Nights" so you get the more upbeat Van. Or "Tupelo Honey" for a more soul singer sound. Such a beautiful song. Van's arrangements.. wow! Van sure can write a love song, eh? There's a live version by Rod Stewart that is amazing. Van's always got that spiritual aspect to tunes like this one. Some other time, "Across The Bridge Where Angels Dwell"... Thanks for the reaction.
If they haven't listened to "Domino" from that same time period, that's definitely one to check out -- soulfully rockin' upbeat sound, with VM at the top of his game!
Watch the movie five flights up,and hang in for the credits as this song plays, really something. I can't hear it now without NYC crossing my mind and the vibes that movie just gave us.
I've always dedicated this song to my kids. One Mothers' Day awhile back, my kiddos recorded this track with a montage` of family photos , of their childhood days captured moments fading in and out (as a gift). I was gutted in a good way... Thanks Van M.
A great song, brings tears to my eyes when I hear it. And think about my two younger brothers who passed away . Thankyou for this. Peace and love from atlantic Canada.
This is a love song for God
"Mama Told Me There'd Be Days Like This" is a great Van Morrison song you need to hit.
You're conflating two different songs: The Shirelles sang Mama Said (There'd be days like this), and Van Morrison's Days Like This.
Yes love love love Days Like This!
There are so many hits but the first to always come to mind for me is "Moondance". Piano, flute and bass that can only be described as infectious.
It always makes me happy when I hear it. And since I just saw the moon in all her glory outside my window, I think I'll put it on!
Awesome song!
Truly a song of thankfulness to the divine.
You may be surprised to know that he actually wrote this song to God! Absolutely true! To me, it makes it even more beautiful.
❤😢 beautiful

Before reading your comment, that is what I thought.
Absolutely correct. This was in his religious period.
I always feel that
No one conveys emotion like my man, Van.

Van Morrison has the best voice. It feels warm.

Inarticulate Speech of the Heart, is another great song that You will love
Every time I here this song, I tell myself that this is a prayer.
“At the end of the day
we should give thanks and pray
to the one, saying
‘have told you lately that I love you?’”

Van himself has said as much… he’s talking to god, but leaves it’s a bit open to interpretation.
Googled and it was written as a prayer.

Such a beautiful song
Someone Like You is a must if you like this!

Van wrote this song and its been covered by quite a few singers. Probably one of the most played songs at weddings since it was written.
Van the Man is a brilliant singer and song writer. This is one of his and I believe it is one of the best Love songs every written.
How wonderful is music, it doesn't get any better. Someone exactly like you , the other special song.
