What a great era in general, but especially for music! I miss those days so much. Crazy to think it's been over 30 years now 😱
@@christarpley6861 Right?! It's so surreal! When someone talks about something that happened 30 years ago, I immediately think they're talking about the 1960s not the 1990s lol.
I was 8 years old hearing this song everywhere especially my mom would play this on her cassette player over and over she would rewind it back each time. Lol
I have heard Jon sing this numberous times live, and this man does NOT skip a note or a beat live,he is just naturally talented! He tends to have a green card to those "Bring Back The 90s" concerts. Other songs by him thats worth checking out too: If You Go, Do You Believe In Us, Too Late Too Soon and even Jon Secada ANGEL (Orchestra Filarmonica di Torino ) Its on Jons own YT channel, and it shows him truly carrying a song live. Jon Secada is a vocal beast!
I remember this song from back in the day, still sounds as good as ever. Another song that you may want to check out by this artist is "Angel", it came out in the same year, 1992.

That voice man, that voice!!! And to make this song even bigger, it was a HUGE club hit as well! I mean, that's the trifecta right there!!!! This song was simply everywhere!!!!!
Miami native here. This song hits hard. I remember hearing it for the first time in 1992 on a trip from Miami to Orlando for my 8th grade Disney World excursion. Jon's voice is amazing and wish he would have continued to make music. Cheers!
My family and I bumped into him in key west back in 1998. He’s such a nice person. He was also born in cuba, and later produced songs in Miami with the Gloria Estefan family
I was born in 87 I grew up to my mom listening to these songs Nonstop blasting at high volume. This was one of her favorites and honestly it’s one of mine too now. Hearing this song brings me back to happy Times in New York young kid jamming out with my mom to all the music she would show me. 36 years old and almost makes me wanna cry
Oh my what an evening! You just reacted to Phil Collin's and you go right into another great! I played this song all the time after I bought the album on cassette. Yep, popped it into the Pioneer system in my Beetle and headed home from work at night with Jon belting this one out! I miss those days!! "Too Late, Too Soon" is another great from Mr. Secada.
Thank you for playing this, played it on repeat when it came out and both me and my daughter pull this one up when we have a RUclips night. What a voice, this never gets old, fabulous song❤️
If you like this mixture of beats and vocal styles, you guys should check out "Set Adrift on Memory Bliss" by P.M. Dawn!!! The beat is iconic and the vocals are a trippy rap, spoken word style. I believe you'll enjoy it!
Yes. They should definitely check out P.M.Dawn! "Set Adrift on Memory Bliss" and "Die Without You"! I think they were a very unique group that brought a lot to music in the early 90's.
Phenomenal hair! I had forgotten how much I loved this song until I opened this video and saw your reactions. I was on the cusp of finally being out of the teen years, branching out on my own, falling in and out of love, driving in my beat-up old Chevette on a warm summer night. Ahh, that feeling when you get your first taste of freedom, before you grow bored with adulthood and wonder where your youth went. That's what this song sounds like to me. It reminds me of a club remix of a smooth ballad over soft hip hop beats. Thanks for taking me back to that snapshot of my life. ❣
Jon is an all-time favourite of mine. Fantastic singer. He sang backup for Gloria Estefan & Miami Sound Machine earlier in his career, and she & her husband helped launch his solo career. Please do more!
Glad you finally got to experience Jon Secada. His vocals on up tempo songs and ballads are amazing. All of his songs are phenomenal, but two of my top favorites are Angel, which he recorded versions in English and Spanish, and I'm Free, which is an uplifting, feel good song. I hope you give them a listen, and continue to explore his catalog; you won't be disappointed.
I LOVE this song so much! John Secada has such an amazing voice. I had the cassette of this one back in the day. “Angel” is another of his songs that’s absolutely gorgeous! ❤
One of my favorite (and underrated IMO) artists. My favorite songs of his are “Do You Believe In Us” and “I’m Free”. Great vocals on those and the ballad “Angel”.
I LOVED the English and Spanish versions of this song. Jon Secada was HOT back in the day. The minute I heard this song, I KNEW who was behind him. I wonder if Amber and Jay picked up her backing vocals😊😊 Too Late Too Soon, Angel, Do You Believe in Us, so many songs
In college in the early 90s, I worked in a store that had an easy listening radio station that played the same stuff over and over - Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Gloria Estefan, Celine Dion, etc. I wanted to smash my head off a wall whenever I'd hear any of them, especially their hits of that time. But then this song came along and got a ton of airplay, but I never got tired of it for the exact reasons you cited: interesting structure and outstanding vocals by Jon himself on what is another heartbreaker of a song. And in fairness, Gloria Estefan did have a hand in bringing him to us and pops up in the video. He had a couple other mainstream hits that I recall (I believe one was "I'm Free" and again, his vocals are just dynamite).
Wow! I haven't heard that in ages. What a set of pipes he had. I think that was his only hit. I hope he was able to continue singing, that voice shouldn't be repressed.
His biggest hit, but he had several more. Billboard Hot 100 chart peaks of charting singles: Just Another Day #5, If You Go #10, Do You Believe In Us #13, Angel #18, I'm Free #27, Mental Picture #29, Too Late Too Soon #41, Whipped #65
He scored several other hits, such as "If You Go", "If I Never Knew You", "Mental Picture", "Do You Believe In Us", "Too Late, Too Soon", "Stop", and more in Spanish.
32 yrs ago and it still hits.

That's for sure where has the time gone
@@christarpley6861 Right?! It's so surreal! When someone talks about something that happened 30 years ago, I immediately think they're talking about the 1960s not the 1990s lol.
I was 8 years old hearing this song everywhere especially my mom would play this on her cassette player over and over she would rewind it back each time. Lol
This is one of my FAVORITE SONGS OF ALL TIMES!!!!!!!
Thank you for rating this beautiful song. It's one of my favorites from this time period.
Did Jon just take us to church with that chorus?! It didn't have a name back then but now I totally feel that's what this is. A spiritual experience
That chorus gets you
I have heard Jon sing this numberous times live, and this man does NOT skip a note or a beat live,he is just naturally talented!
Good Lord, what a voice! Awesome to blessed to sing this way. I'm envious 😉! Sister, you
are right, the emotion in his voice is unsurpassed!
I remember this song from back in the day, still sounds as good as ever. Another song that you may want to check out by this artist is "Angel", it came out in the same year, 1992.
This was a HUGE hit!!! And to make it even bigger, it was a hit in Spanish as well! It simultaneously took over both English and Spanish radio at the same time! He was produced by Emilio Estefan. That voice man, that voice!!! And to make this song even bigger, it was a HUGE club hit as well! I mean, that's the trifecta right there!!!! This song was simply everywhere!!!!!
Omg. Never thought you would find this gem. Spanish version is fire. Whole album is fire.
Miami native here. This song hits hard. I remember hearing it for the first time in 1992 on a trip from Miami to Orlando for my 8th grade Disney World excursion. Jon's voice is amazing and wish he would have continued to make music. Cheers!
Beautiful song ! i have not heard this song in a while. He, Secada has a fantastic voice..Thank you
My family and I bumped into him in key west back in 1998. He’s such a nice person. He was also born in cuba, and later produced songs in Miami with the Gloria Estefan family
THE song of the summer of 1992! Great reaction, you were feeling it
I was born in 87 I grew up to my mom listening to these songs Nonstop blasting at high volume. This was one of her favorites and honestly it’s one of mine too now. Hearing this song brings me back to happy Times in New York young kid jamming out with my mom to all the music she would show me. 36 years old and almost makes me wanna cry
He has so many great songs….
“ if you go” “mental picture”
“ do you believe in us” … and many many more
Oh my what an evening!
Oh, that's a good suggestion! I love that song and I think they would enjoy it, too.
This, and Looking Through Patient Eyes.
Yes. They should definitely check out P.M.Dawn! "Set Adrift on Memory Bliss" and "Die Without You"! I think they were a very unique group that brought a lot to music in the early 90's.
I remember that song too
Great suggestion. Always loved "Paper Doll" too
Phenomenal hair!
I just seen the other night that Jon Secada is still singing & man his voice is still strong. I loved him back in the 90's!!
One of the purest singing voice ever.
I LOVE THIS SONG! THANK YOU TO WHOEVER REQUESTED THIS! I WANTED TO ALONG TIME AGO BUT WASNT SURE HOW,
He is awesome. GREAT SONG LOVE TO DANCE!!!Great memory and you guys learn alot real Great music and Talent!!!❤❤
THANK YOU!! ❤❤ I'm one of the people that suggested this. Always loved his voice...awesome singer.
Thank you soooo much for reacting to this. Makes me happy! Angel is another Secada track I’m convinced you will love being people of faith
Jon is an all-time favourite of mine. Fantastic singer. He sang backup for Gloria Estefan & Miami Sound Machine earlier in his career, and she & her husband helped launch his solo career. Please do more!
Always loved this song! He’s a throwback to almost 70s in that the song has so much emotion and ease to it. Such a great song and always loved it!
He has an amazing voice. Always loved this song and it's sad we don't hear more from him.
WOW
Jon SECADA....one of my first loves ❣️❣️❣️
He is so special 😍
This is literally one of my favorite songs of all time!!! Love that you all did this!!!
Beautiful Song! Incredible Voice! Great Choice You Guys! :)
Absolute Banger of a track
The entire album is outstanding.
I love love Jon Secada. This is one of my all time favorite songs!
This song gives me chills and I just discovered it on 2023 ! Yes ❤
