I thought I'd reply to this because it's recent. Is "jaw clicking" what you only hear when you have your fingers in front of your ears? (When my fingers apply pressure to this area, I hear clicking, if I don't apply pressure, I don't hear any clicking.) Or is "jaw clicking" an actual audible noise that you can hear when you chew food or open your mouth (you don't have to be pressing in front of the ear to hear a click)?
@@timobrien6957 nope, I’d literally open my mouth and it would ‘snap’ or ‘click’. It was very loud actually and people would ask wth that was. Hey Spicy! This exercise will help you understand a little better what's actually happening. We are all born with 2 TMJ's, and they are good. If you stop it, you won't be able to open your mouth, chew food, or talk. Don't seek to stop your TMJ, seek to program it to function how you want it to. If you want to know how to do this, you need to start with a goal. What is your goal?
@@BuffaloTMJ I believe the comment refers to the tmd of clicking or stiffness and the commenter wants to know how to stop the clicking, as I too would like to know having endured this problem for several years.
I'm a singer , and idk when it actually started ! Now whenever I'm trying to record anything .. These popping /clicking sounds can be listened clearly , these are coming louder than my voice..😶😑
Diagnosis first. You'll need some imaging, preferably an MRI. If you want to eliminate the clicking, there are often ways that are effective, but it will likely require an examination and analysis of what you do with your jaw when you sing. If you hope to eliminate the noises using conservative, non-surgical methods, your jaw movement patterns related to speech and singing will have to be deprogrammed, and then re-learned piece-by-piece. Gathering the data and getting a lay of the land is the first step. Your vocal coach (if you have one) can guide you as to how your jaw muscles should feel when you project your voice. Hint: they should be relaxed. Your throat muscles, and neck muscles, should also be relaxed. These methods will take time, but the result will be long-lasting, and there no physical risks as with surgical methods.
When he said , “internal derangement” , I felt that.

I’m only 14, but this has been happening since I was 13. Whenever I would talk or eat, a loud pop sound would sound out and even my sister would get annoyed because she could hear it. I’ve been getting a chiropractor to work on it for a couple months but it still continues. I’m getting slightly worried now because when I eat food my jaw would lock in place on every bite. I have looked up everything about it, and I’ve been extra careful about eating and talking a lot. I rarely chew hard foods and eat stuff that require minimal effort to chew. I hope this works. Thanks for making this video!

Me too! But I already have a click jaw before I put a braises(Dortor's recommend) , and when I put a lasticbonds (for adjustment) It was more pain. And the braises is not curing the click jaw. Money waste. 😭
One night I went to sleep and woke up with this and now it’s kind of a habit for me clicking my jaw all the time and it becomes really annoying even thought I can’t help it
I have been dealing with tmj since I was 13. It all happened because of a joke that made me laugh so hard, the left side of my jaw cracked. I am constantly dealing with uncomfortable jaw pains on and off all the time. Everyday, throughout the day, I always have to crack my jaw to relieve the pressure that I feel. If I crack my jaw the wrong way, it's throbs for a week. I am now 25. 😮💨
My jaw started clicking and popping after almost every yawn, eating etc, when I was around 15-16 years old after an Herbst Appliance procedure that was supposed to fix my bite during/ before braces. When I asked about it they said well if it's not "hurting you" we are not doing anything about it. Its been around 10 years now.
Thank you so much doc , it really effective just now I saw your video and watch it then starting to do what you say in 30times the popping in my jaw was gone ❤thank you so much, I been suffering from it in last 4months
I don’t usually feel pain when I crack my jaw. I saw my mom do it and just moved my jaw the same way she did until I made my first crack and from that day on, I kept doing it and it became so addicting, couldn’t resist how satisfying that pop was so I cracked my jaw every one minute or so for five years straight. Now, it really changed my face shape 😭 the jaw is uneven, and from what i used to have, a sharp jawline with a diamond shaped face, now it’s an uneven, round face with less definition and lower cheekbones. I really wish there was a way to reverse my jaw to the way it used to be. I think i may have over cracked my jaw for too long 😭😭😭😭
Wow I am soooo exited. I’ve been trying this for only a few days…maybe a week and tonight I’m eating without any pop so far. I normally pop all the time! Wow I feel so blessed by watching this video, I had to come back and leave a comment.. Popping was getting so bad. I had both click at small opening and big pop at big opening. I’m not saying it’s gone but its good to know I can have a meal normally now and I’m hopeful now too.

Concerned is a good place to be! Worried is not, LOL. If you are concerned enough, then seek out a TMJ specialist near you for and exam and imaging. Usually it's beneficial to find out WHY it's popping. However, if it doesn't hurt, and it doesn't impede your ability to eat, talk, and breathe, then you won't feel much motivation or see much value in seeking a professional opinion. Hope that helps!

I’ve had a clicking jaw for as long as I can remember. Your technique of “tap, tap, tap” took only a day to correct it. Absolutely gone. Thank you so much.

This is amazing I’ve had this for almost 10 years and it’s stopping now.
Im 17 years old and its been 3 years since i have a TMJ i just want to know how to stop it
We are all born with 2 TMJ's, and they are good. If you stop it, you won't be able to open your mouth, chew food, or talk. Don't seek to stop your TMJ, seek to program it to function how you want it to. If you want to know how to do this, you need to start with a goal. What is your goal?
:((((
@@BuffaloTMJ I believe the comment refers to the tmd of clicking or stiffness and the commenter wants to know how to stop the clicking, as I too would like to know having endured this problem for several years.

From the day I had braces this is happening to me every dayy 😂 thanks for the help!
Me too i have my jaws

Omg. Thank you so so so much. I have had this problem for a couple years. At first, my jaw would click but after I got braces it started to get stuck at a certain point. The first technique where you put your teeth together worked wonders for me. Thank you forever!!!!

This works the first time I have tried it! wow! after so many years of suffering from jaw clicks, it was a blessing to find your video! Thank you!!

My jaw has been clicking for 13 years now...
omg mine is 10 years…
Did you fix it? I hope so its so annoying

I think i may have over cracked my jaw for too long 😭😭😭😭
Look up Mewing. it can help with facial structure.

I don't get it... I love cracking my jaw, the bigger, louder, more often, and crunchier the better. They say there is nothing unhealthy or too adverse long-term about it either, neither is it painful. It just feels highly pleasant and therapeutic. Same with the knuckles, wrists, shoulder, and toes

Very good! It didn't pop when doing that, however, when my front teeth are together (tap tap tap), my upper back teeth are not touching my bottom back teeth and I won't be able to chew my food from the back without my jaw popping

As an update: It has been 2 months of me doing this exercise multiple times a day and I still have a lot of clicking going on, a lot less then before. It usually is really bad right when I wake up and gets better as the day progresses. I probably should go see a doctor.
i cant remember exactly how and when this started at first ny jaw will pop alot like chewing or like lightly open and when i would fully open my mouth like as much as i can i would pop again. (this was about 3 yrs ago). now my jaw pops when i fully open my mouth only and its like a loud pop. should i be concerned?
it used to pop on both sides now its only on my right side
Most likely just but too much pressure on your jaw , if you tap your teeth like he said you should be alright, if not you need to consult a doctor.
Buffalo TMJ thank you
