  • Hi everyone, I was having charging issues with my car so I thought I would make a video of what I found, in hopes of helping other mustang owners out.
    Thanks!

      So that cable the fuse link cable Is expensive and you have to order it so what I did is go to a audio place where they install custom speakers to find a number 12 gauge heavy Insulated wire
      At this point I'm just going to replace the number 12 wire that is burnt outSo far it's only cost to be $11

      @@selenatorres1522 how did it came out so instead of replacing the fusible link you substituted with 12 gauge wire?

    Would this solve my voltage drop on my 2003 mustang 3.8L. The problem is basically the same issue. It’s when I try to use the headlights or the blower motor which drops even more than the lights. I made a makeshift fuse link using an old wire that looked the same thickness and put everything together. It seemed to work for a few days but then back to square one.. so I just want to make sure I’m getting the right thing. Also if it’s not too much trouble, how do you hook this up?

    I have the same issue with my 95 Cobra. Car starts fine but as I drive, the voltage goes down to 8. Recently my mechanic said he had to take apart my instrument cluster out to correct the thermometer gauge. I firmly believe you that it is the fuse link. I just ordered it with LMR along with the upgraded alternator. Hope it fixes my issue.

    I’m having this problem right now with my 99 V6. Car starts fine. Then just dies off. Bought a new alternator, & new battery. Bought new terminals for the battery and the car still turns off after a while. My next step is to replace the fuse link. But it’s a long shot. I’m just hoping this is the issue

    I want to order a new fuse link wire but what about the static connector plug? The94-95 has a few other connectors in the factory wiring there. I don’t know much about wiring.

      baghdadwarrior03 I didn’t replace those on mine. If they are loose or damaged I would change them out. I had good luck with just changing the main power lead or fuse link.

    What about a bad dash cluster my 95 gt same issue but my temp goes straight past hot no oil pressure no gas no speedometer only thing that works is the rpms so could a faulty guage cluster be the problem.

    • @s-bomb6946
      @s-bomb6946  4 года назад

      Mustang Guy , I can definitely understand you confusion and frustration. There’s several little things that it could be from a different pulley size on the alternator, blown fuse,bad connector, the alternator itself ect.ect.ect. Lucky for me , the fuse link solved my issues. You may give it a try also. Hope you find your issue!! 👍🏻

  • @roltyd22
    @roltyd22 Год назад

    Would this cause pulsating headlights,dome lights,dash lights especially in cold weather? Like could be corroded where the link coming off the alternator is connected to the bigger cable that goes to the fuse box

      It was from American Muscle but unfortunately they discontinued it. Get you a stereo amp power lead and fusible link. That’s basically what it is and works great.

    • @bobyoung1698
      @bobyoung1698 Год назад

      @Jesse Ozuna The stock foglights overwhelm the ignition harness. It's a factory fault. They ignored complaints. I beefed up the alternator amperage and replacer the stock fog lights with LED fog lights - they draw a lot less power. So far, so good.

      S-Bomb quick update. Ordered the wire from American Muscle problem didn’t go away but I found something around the signal cluster and steering wheel column it was really hot when I started the car i thought it was from the sun since it the car was sitting there for days but it wasn’t you think theres shortage inside by the turn signal switch and hazard light since it’s really hot ? And also if I use signals or hazards voltage jumps up and down. Hope you can help thank you

    • @s-bomb6946
      @s-bomb6946  5 лет назад +1

      Ivan Quintero I’m not sure if that would be your issue or not, I would definitely inspect the wires really good on the column to avoid any electrical fires. As far as the voltage fluctuation , that’s probably just do to the charging issue itself. Is your gauge cluster good? No burnt out lights or burnt spots on back of it? The dash cluster completes the circuit for the charging system. Sounds like your issue is definitely take some serious investigating with a voltmeter. It’s gonna be tedious but you’ll find it. Definitely keep me posted and I’ll try to help any way I can. 👍🏻

    • @s-bomb6946

      Wasn’t my dash at all. Was the fuse link. But without the dash plugged in you won’t see proper charging.
