    Mahmoud Abdul Rauf was championship bound 100%, but they abused the dude and kicked him out the league, just because of his beliefs.

    Abdul Rauf was a good player but the NBA had to make an example out of him bcuz he didn't want to stand for the pledge of allegiance in protest of the Iraq war. He got blackballed just like Colin Kaepernick is being balckballed now from the NFL. Abdul Rauf just got picked to play in Ice Cube's Big Three so he will re-emerge at the age of 48 to play ball again.

      Ive seen rauf play live and curry too and rauf is not on the same level on curry not even close, The people saying rauf is better then curry are people who are trying to look like they have Basketball knowledge and look cool. Cos one most people today wouldnt know who rauf is. So it makes them feel smart and make them think they know basketball just cos they know a player that somone else doesnt.

  • @tnthnic

    If you factor in everything possible, I'd say they are very similar. If we take into account Mahmoud's scoring killer instinct, today's rules, a green light from the coach and a powerhouse team like golden state. He would be as lethal as steph.

    To be fair, their games are similar. Curry is about 4 inches taller. Rauf was quicker and could get his shot against anyone, a pure scorer. The rules have also changed and guys don't play defense anymore. No one had really seen anything like Jackson/Rauf when he got to LSU. The unfortunate thing is Rauf's career was cut short and the media is almost afraid to say his name mainly over him not standing for the flag. The fact that people like Phil Jackson even draw a comparison with how people react to Rauf and get away with it shows how good he was. Talent vs talent..Rauf could score on anyone, I wouldn't make the same bet on curry vs anyone

    Well Rauf was a lot quicker shot was just as smooth. Penetrated a lot more with less help I might add and did I mention he had the range also. Pull up his college and pro highlights. When he was in the pros it was a lot more physical I might add. Not talking anything away from Curry but it's going to be easier when you have 3 superstars playing with you.

    People don't talk about Abdul much because of him being Muslim and his big national anthem fallout pretty much dominated negative talk about him. But I watched him on RUclips too and man I am very impressed. The speed that he had a a very solid jumper. Him and Curry are very very similar. I have to say that he had more speed and better handle than Curry though but they are pretty close. Abdul was also alot shorter. Curry is a bigger guy. Abdul was 5-10.

      Patrick Adzimah Because in today's game they never been taught how to defend! They simply cannot play defense on anybody because the game doesn't want that anymore. The NBA looks like a pick-up game, running and shooting 3s and dunking is all there is to it! If you think for a moment it pretty much looks like a video game because it is all part of the entertainment industry: no rivalries, no honor, no prestige, no chemistry, no team spirit, only paychecks and overrated values on a sad, fast market.

    Both are similar, Curry is a better 3 point shooter, has the green light to shoot where mahmoud never had the hand cuffs taken off, defense both about the same, mahmouds a better free throw & mid range shooter, both are great off the dribble shooters, curry's better full court player Mahmouds better 1/2 court. Both don't make a lot of mistakes, curry's a fancier passer but mahmoud's a better precision passer.

    It is hard to compare players from different eras. I personally watch Abdul-Rauf in college and the pros and I have watched Steph Curry in college and in the pros. The only question I would ask is if you gave Abdul-Rauf Curry's supporting cast and Curry's Abdul-Rauf's supporting staff who would they look? There is no question in my mind that Curry's game would suffer and Abdul-Rauf's would flourish. Before Durant, you can not ignore Curry's supporting cast of current and former All-Stars. He was drafted into a solid defensive and offensive team on the rise while Abdul-Rauf played for a horrible Denver Nugget team.

    The sad thing is...Curry never really watched or understood Rauf, nor he will ever come close to him in terms of fierceness. He might get to the HOF because of his stats but that's about it. If Curry will disappear from RUclips around 2030, people like him will not remember him but they will still remember Rauf with or without RUclips. I know it's eerie but just wait and watch. ;)

    • @LevyNagyMusicalEscapades
      @LevyNagyMusicalEscapades 7 лет назад +1

      Right! Do you remember who was the MVP in any of the seasons before 2000 except MJ??
      We live in a visual society: if phenomenons are not seen, they tend to not exist for the brains of the people. Just like Rauf didn't really exist for Curry because Curry said it, he lacks basketball knowledge. And that's the case with 90% of the people who comment on social media nowadays. ;) They don't know much because they never really watched a game with all these legends who are very, very hard to match in the future simply because they had a very sweet balance between physical abilities, intelligence and teamwork, and let's not forget about the passion for the game (which is the opposite of the financial interest that rules today!).

    • @LevyNagyMusicalEscapades
      @LevyNagyMusicalEscapades 7 лет назад

      There is a huge difference between them: Rauf career was ended by the NBA/government! And yet he is still a legend. Curry is not. But he might be one day. He will only have to explain why he got his MVP(s) unrightfully while others were jacking up bigger numbers but were ignored by the NBA. James Harden should have been the MVP at least ONCE in the last two years. But I don't want to shatter your dreams so I will stop here. ;)
