  • The Glock 43x was Glocks' attempt to compete with the high capacity sig p365, but didn't they start the death of the glock 19 for concealed carry? is the 43x a worthy handgun in the hands of a capable shooter? or is this gun simple too under sized to take sales away from the glocm 19. these are questions i ask myself as I'm shooting this gun and developing an opinion.

    TLDR. the glock 43x is a really capable little gun with power of glocks aftermarket support. it's worth your time, and I think it will indeed take some of the glock 19s sales in the concealed carry market.

    Good video I originally had a G19 and bought a G48 which my wife decided to make it her duty weapon. I next bought a G43X and liked it so much I sold my G19 and purchased a G17 gen3. Like you mentioned about the G43 the small grip caused it to fail my close quarter test. When I was a Deputy Sheriff, I'm retired now. One of the phases was at 3 feet we had 1 second to draw the weapon and fire 2 shots in 1 second. In that short time span you get a not so optimal grip and with the G43 and G26 after 1 shot I got a failure to chamber the 2nd round. Now I never had those failures with my full size Glock or revolvers. As for the compact semi-autos the 43X and the Sig P250 subcompact passed with flying colors. Ironically my agency never conducted that test with our off duty weapons. Your results maybe different than mine, but it's good to see if they work for you. Once again good video and yes the 43X is my EDC weapon.

    Liked and subscribed. The 43x (and the 48 as well) certainly have their place. Particularly in those states that don't allow more than 10 rounds in a mag. For me, I just find that I keep coming back to the 19, it's just such an all around great gun and having 15 (reliable) rounds is hard to beat. My biggest issue with the 43x & 48 is that I'm surprised at how many people have jumped on to the shield arms bandwagon without hesitation. Yes, 15 rounds in a smaller package sounds great, but there have been SO MANY documented issues with those magazines, I don't see how people can trust them with their lives. They're on the 3rd generation already in an attempt to fix those problems. Now, PSA has just put out a 15 round mag (micro dagger) that looks like a more promising option than the Shield Arms. The thing is, we still don't know how either will hold up over the long term. There's just not enough data to say for sure yet, and I'm not willing to bet my life on that. The Glock mags have 30-40 years of proven reliability, if I'm going to use a 43x or 48 I'll stick with that and just settle for 10 rounds, which is adequate. If I feel like I need 15 rounds, I'll just stick with the tried and proven G19. Man, that was longer comment than I anticipated lol. Well, that's my opinion and I'm sticking to it. Thanks for the video

      @@ArmedAtlas The way that they name things by patent number is so confusing but I think their idea behind the 43x name scheme was to somewhat mimic the 19x in that you have a smaller slide matched with a larger grip frame.
      Between the 48 & 43x I think the 48 is superior. It actually conceals more easily and the longer slide helps tame the recoil and adds velocity.

      Ok, so it definitely depends on your body type. Normally I would just recommend getting a glock 48(slightly better 43x), but if you can easily conceal a full size gun the 19x(mos) is a GREAT option.
      My biggest concern is that i personally have to really tailor my outfit around concealing the 45(same as 19x) but I have really no issue with concealing guns with the 19x profile.
      When you say you carry at 3 or 4 o'clock in concerned that you'll definitely print. especially with that glock 17 length grip. But with the right holster and attire you might be able to pull it off.

    I am posting about my experience with the PSA micro dagger magazines with my 43x thus far. I purchased two PSA magazines and have put about 75 rounds a piece through them. I know that is not very many, but it is enough to give an initial impression. These magazines are VERY stiff! My advice is if you don't already have one, buy a good magazine loader, or you will tear your thumbs up! It may help to leave them loaded for a while. I have also noticed that the base plates bulge on these magazines. I do not know if this will affect long term reliably or durability, but it has my attention. As far as function so far, they have been reliable with only one failure to lock the slide back with one magazine. I fully loaded and fired the same magazine a few more times and did not have a repeat of this issue, so who knows? Other than this, they do seem well made. Some have reported plastic shards inside the magazines, which have affected reliability...I have not had that issue.

      This may seem somewhat over picky, but I did notice that it also takes about twice as much effort to push the magazine into the well when it is fully loaded vs. the OEM magazine (strong springs!). This is with one in the chamber and a full magazine (15+1).It could be an issue for someone with less hand strength, in which case I probably wouldn't recommend these magazines or pistol anyway. The magazine catch notches on the PSA are also not as deep as the OEM magazine notches. I am not sure if any of this would affect the magazine reliability, but I just wanted to mention my observations. This all may sound like a negative review, but it's not. I am carrying one in my 43x as we speak.

      I've found that with the smaller guns, you need to tighten up your fundamentals. Its not impossible to shoot these guns well, but with the extra snap and slightly worse trigger, you end up jerking the gun more and dipping the muzzle in anticipation of a more violent snap or gritty trigger. Not to say you can't bang at 25 yards, but it makes it harder to be great

    The Glock 19 will never go away because it's the OWB holster gun for police, security, and people with larger hands. Secondly, you don't need anything special to have 15 round capacity. I have a Glock 48 and I have 3 PSA 15-round magazines and it's a smooth shooter with them, as for the PSA 15-round magazines they work flawlessly after 5 range visits but I still have my 10 round magas tho.

    Most people are rooting for the g43x, but have ya shot both guns from a concealment. I tend to fumble a little when trying to pull the small gun out of holster. Thus, resulting in inconsistent gripping of pistol.

    Carried a Glock 43x for years. Switched to 19x for edc one year ago. 43x is better than nothing, but not ideal for regular shooting. 19 is ideal for deep concealment while still comfortable enough to shoot fast with. 19x still easily concealed and excellent full grip for faster shooting.

      Carrying a 19x requires a bigger frame. If that's the case, a 43x will be a bit more uncomfortable due to hand size. I carry a G45 myself, so I understand and agree.

    Great video! My thoughts as someone who owns multiple Glocks including 2, G43Xs (one standard, one MOS), here is my thought. Glock did not kill the G19 with the 43X (from factory with only 10-rounds), but Shield Arms and now, PSA are ganging up with the G43X to make the G19 less relevant. However, a lot of folks don't want to purchase aftermarket parts to make their firearms more capable. Another thing is that the G19 to me has a better feel in the grip than the G43X because I have bigger hands. I think, if Glock released a flush fit 15-round magazine for the G43X and G48, along with multiple sized backstraps, that would be Glock performing a coup de grace on the G19. Keep the great content coming, I subscribed!

    • @ArmedAtlas

      Man, great synopsis. And you're absolutely right about people avoiding the aftermarket for one reason or another. The 19 grip is better for most people at the end of the day and I had one person comment about how their agency doesn't allow aftermarket mags so they continue carrying the 19 even though it's thicker.
      and I'll be working on putting the 43x against the Hellcat pro & 365 XL maybe... next week? So stay tuned 👊🏼

    Not even close, it definitely kills the G26 but the only thing that “kills” the 19 would be the 48 MOS. In my opinion atleast.

    • @splaatsetshawty
      @splaatsetshawty Год назад +2

      It definitely doesn't kill the 26 and it's all about preference, and I rather much prefer the thickness over the slim line any day🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️

      The SIG is for Guinea Pigs! I learned the hard way! XL has FCU problems (loosens after a while aka, shake to shoot), the XMacro is a rust bucket waiting to show off it's rust bucket ways (yes, even after being cleaned and lubed up after every range trip). The Sig XTEN was nice, but after a few hundred rounds, the trigger was like a floppy wet noodle! NO WAY would I carry that in the woods of Alaska! To ME, only a FOOL would carry a SIG.

    • @ArmedAtlas
      @ArmedAtlas  9 месяцев назад

      I've run many glocks and really can't say the 43x feels cheap. But that's my opinion, seems you've had a different experience

    • @charles17508
      @charles17508 9 месяцев назад

      @ArmedAtlas yeah I have a 43x and a 48mos and the slim line glocks don't feel as good you can tell when you rack them and listen to a double stack vs single stack but time will tell I got to say though I had to send the 48mos back to glock becouse of malfunctions they replaced all parts and sent it back .trust I feel underguned when I have a slim frame on me because of how they are but I feel right as rain when I have my 19 on me becouse of its track record and how dependable and reliable it has been ive owned a 19 since 2001 and have only messed with the single stacks since 43x came out around 5 years ago and there just not as good as glock 27,19, 17,17long or 34

    • @ArmedAtlas
      @ArmedAtlas  9 месяцев назад

      Fair enough.
      I can see why you'd be more hesitant with the slim lines. they are slightly different and according to these comments, a lot of L & XL hands don't sit the slim line well. Even the 43x/48s.
      Reliability hasn't been the concern for most, but having to send a gun (glock) back is a big big deal. These are life saving tools. No room for errors

    You'll never see a Glock 43x in a police holster or military holster....so think that's enough said...stop kidding yourself with this foolishness!!!! A ok "carry" gun..it's passable...but a "service" sidearm "killer" NEGATIVE!!! Call it what it is a decent "ccw" 👍

    • @ArmedAtlas
      @ArmedAtlas  8 месяцев назад

      I agree, but they also shouldn't carry the 19 when the 19x/45/17/47 exist.
      BUT I can admit the 48/43x can't offer the same shooting experience as the 19 for the EDC conceal carry guy who can conceal it easily

      One thing about Sig is that after about a good 6-700 rounds, the gun will have issues. My 365XL got to the point where the slide was hard to rack. I was told it’s the trigger module being dirty but to clean it good you have to disassemble it. To disassemble and reassemble you have to have an engineering degree Lol. To fully take down any Glock and reassemble it is very easy to do. Sigs are pretty guns but eventually it’s going to have an issue. The 365 macros are already having rusting issues. Even in a glass case at the gun store the gun was rusting which is very unacceptable.
