I have the same dilemma! Next month i will hold both of them in my hand and take just one. 555$ for a G19 gen 4 or 755$ for the G43X black slide with rail
@Brandon Nelson your completely right I posted that a year ago when it was the greatest thing to come to the firearms industry. Everyone was saying it’s reliable and then people started running them in classes and they all failed when it’s came to real world scenarios. Lesson learned only use oem mags
I have a G19 that I carry. I’m looking at getting a 43x MOS just for something a little smaller. The G19 isn’t bad to carry at all. But sometimes I think I’d prefer a little less hanging around on my waist.
I had a Glock 19 great for winter carry when wearing lot of clothes. Summer time it was to bulky to conceal for me. I ended up selling it not bad gun just didn’t have a use for it anymore. I’m really thinking of getting the 43x. Held the 43 to small for my hands
It’s a little bulky for me too with less clothing in the warmer months. I feel like the Glock 43X was the “Goldilocks” Gun for me. It’s the best of both worlds so to speak. I think you’d like it too.
My first gun was Glock 19 (4,100 rounds) and my last gun is the 43X (3,600 rounds) and love them both. They are the ultimate in reliability and accuracy. In between I had a Taurus 709 Slim, which ran just as well as my Glock 19, but was replaced by the 43X. I also have two of the Shield Arms S15 mags, with some 650 rounds without any issues at all. They are great. The 19 is my primary home defense weapon and the 43X with S15 is EDC ready. However, my preferred EDC is actually the Taurus Spectrum (ankle or pocket holster). I have two of these, each one with over 3,100 rounds and alternate EDC and practice. To be fair, the Spectrum isn't a Glock, but for 10-15 yards it is accurate, easy to conceal and fun to shoot.
Great comment, you and I have a very similar EDC background. The 19, gen 4 was my first Glock 7 years ago. It was my EDC, but now its my home defense weapon. The G43X is my new EDC CCW. I will be checking out the S15 mags. Thanks for tuning in Rick
@noryn syra For me the 19 is simply too large for an EDC, hence it has become my primary home defense gun. The 43X is clearly easier to conceal, making it a good EDC option. With the 15 round Shield magazine, I find it equal to the 19. Where the 19 might be better is simply at longer distances, e.g., 25 yards. Under 15 yards I'm just as accurate with the 43X as the 19.
I mean, for conceal carry the length of the slide doesn't matter to be honest. What matters is how long the grip is. If these two guns are basically the same in the grip length department, I don't see a reason to go for the 43X when the 19 holds 5 more rounds. Yeah, is a bit ticker but is not a huge difference
I agree. Actually for appendix carry, a longer slide is more comfortable than a shorter slide if you have a little bit of a gut because a shorter slide will poke into you more. Also, a shorter slide/smaller gun means less velocity and more recoil. The G19 is a dream to shoot and anything snappier that is approximately the same size just doesn't make sense to me.
Mike J i did not put the kit in the 43x just the apex shoe & a ghost connector. Does great so far. I did put the kit in the G19 gen 4 & ive had no issues. They are a little different on how they work.
Because shield arms only decreases the reliability of a Glock. Why would you mess with top tier reliability by putting in aftermarket crap that has known issues?
@waholoopesorry74 You're not risking anything. IF there is a problem, it would be after hundreds upon hundreds of rounds fired, years of pressures put upon the plastic vs. Metal. So if this is used for self defense, not used much, it's 100% reliable.

I just picked up the 43x a couple of weeks ago and it's a blast at the range. The size was a little odd at first, but I added Talon grips and my accuracy went up. It's easily the best carry gun all around.
Not to be one of those clip vs magazine guys, but it's "grip" not "purchase". Purchase is only used when there's no opposing "squeeze" action being applied with the thumb. If there is, then it's called "grip."

Glock 43x for every day concealed carry (slimmer and 10 rds). When Glock creates the 15 rd mags, without having to change out the magazine release. I'll buy 15 rdr's for the 43x (no thanks Shield Arms). Glock 19 time tested and 15 rds already, for the bump in the night pistol.
Good review. I've always wondered why people weigh guns empty. Nice to know but do you carry it empty? Not a chance, right? The difference between these two loaded is more than 5 oz.
Hey thanks for watching and commenting. The reason I weigh them empty is because there are many variations in round loading and round types which will vary depending upon what you choose to shoot. You do bring up a good point though. In future comparisons I might try to do both 😊👍

My decision has been made I'm getting a Gen 5 Glock 19.
I agree with you. When shooting one handed, the recoil with the 43X made it rotate in my hand no matter how tightly i held the gun, which is a disqualifier for me since I may have to shoot one handed. I understand the appeal to the 43X but I don't think a lot of people think things through all the way.
You forgot to mention that the Glock 19 accept Glock 17 magazines giving it a 17 round capacity. Of course you can put a much bigger extended magazine capacity on the 19th as well if you're trying to get crazy and non practical like some of the street thugs you'll be facing if they break in your house. But I don't think we have that capability with the Glock 43x. It's made primarily for a concealed carry not a main Home Defense weapon.
honestly, i think they both shoot about the same. any snappiness of the 43x's shorter barrel seems to be mitigated by the reduced mass reciprocating in the slide.
To me the G19 has a little less recoil than the 43X & im a little more accurate with the G19 maybe because i have trijicon hd sights on the 19 & stock sights on the 43X.
You are delusional. I’ve owned and shot both and I won’t try to justify the 43x just because it’s hot and popular. There is a world of difference in shooting between the 19 and 43x
Not even close. The 43X is way snappier. You can't shoot the 43X one handed without having to regrip after a few rounds. Either you're being dishonest because you want to like the 43X or you're the world's strongest man and every gun feels like it has little recoil to you.
Shield Arms 15 round mags are dangerous and have numerous feed failures..sold the 43x and the mags..got the new hellcat pro...best thing i have done gun wise in years....
@@dbenson002i actually really appreciate you revisiting you comment with an update, i had the exact same thought process and seeing what happened for you, made my choice way easier!
I'm definitely not a fan of the idea of having to swap out the mag release for use with the S15 mags. The original plastic mag release will last less than 200 rounds with the S15 mags, and the soft aluminum ones that everyone is selling for $30-$40 will also fail in less than 1,000 rounds with the steel mags. Unless you machine one out of steel yourself, then any of the previously mentioned options for an upgraded mag release make the 43X with S15 mags unacceptably unreliable. I won't consider a 43X without it being able to hold 15 rounds, so it's not a viable option for me.

Not even close. The 43X is way snappier. You can't shoot the 43X one handed without having to regrip after a few rounds. Either you're being dishonest because you want to like the 43X or you're the world's strongest man and every gun feels like it has little recoil to you.
wasn’t sure about them so i bought both and threw the 19x in the package
Do the 19 mags don't fit on the 43x?
No the mag well is narrower.
Great comparison, thanks for that!
Glad you liked it!
Is the 43x still not legal in California??
It never will be, until the roster is gone for good. Luckily for you, it was recently found unconstitutional.
@@jshepard152 Well hopefully they get rid of that sht.. -_-
I prefer glock 27 with extended grip to CC
The Shield arms 15-round flush fit mag was definitely the deal sealer for me it is a no brainer
I hit 2k rounds aluminum mag realese almost no wear
If the grip length is the same then why bother getting the 43x ? I’ll stick with the 19 .
Maybe the weight difference
Narrower, lighter, shorter barrel.
What mag release is that on the 19?
It’s stock
wow! for losing 7 rounds you don't really gain a lot of space in the waistband.
Its actually 5 rounds (10 in G43X and 15 in G19)
Yes, and the smaller slide/barrel on the 43X makes your rounds lose velocity and increases the recoil. No thanks - I'll stick with the 19
I choose the 19 simply because I didn't want to give up 5 rounds just for the slim part but that's just me
19 is easier to shoot too
Did your 43x come with the night sights?
Yes I ordered them for extra $
Go with truglo tfx pro, I did freak'n awesome!!
43 x with shield magazines is basically a thin Glock 19
pretty much
Nice video, but just a minor critic, you don't need a black background (mat) when you video black handguns. The table would have been a nice contrast
Good point - I will revise that in future videos. Thanks for watching
hoping for a sigle stack 40 cal
Eventually I think they will
the gen 5 43x MOS have a light rail now prob gonna be my next gun. after i sell my brick of a glock 23 haha
Thanks I just bought a 34x
The 43x has a 26 slide and a 19 grip
Great vid
thanks for watching!
@5:45 Glock 43x mos your wish has been granted 👍
Makes you wonder why the Glock 19 is as thick as it is anyway.
Yeah especially with these 15 round flush magazines that are available
My EDC is a glock 43x
They make 15 and 20 round mags for the 43x
So the 43x is the winner for me
thanks for watching!
Only difference is you can’t change caliber
I own a 33 that is more thin. And has a better trigger.
The 43x is designed for carry.
Glock 43x with shield arms 15 rd conversation no brainer
@@dredgengray9175 the 19 is easier to shoot and some don’t like the reliability of the aftermarket mags
Volume
I have a Glock 43x I don't like it I like the 19 much better but that's just me
dude speak up
The 43x mos has a rail.
This isn’t a real comparison when talking a single stack fail
Get a mic..sound is like a mouse.
will do
Glock 43xx 😂😂😂😂
The Glock 43XXX will definitely get railed! 🤣
This glock is different from the one I got from *glockworld* on wickr the one I got have switch them told me it's a new gun 🔫
