Thanks for having us Adam! Really enjoyed it!! Hope this helps some people hit it and play better!
Thanks Eric!
Awesome video gents! Definitely takes some getting use to if you've been hitting down! Nuggets!
"Too much commitment to a solid hit right away will rob you of the ability to do something different". Words of WISDOM! Thanks Adam! Thanks Eric! Looking forward to working on this this week. Plenty of time these days......
Thanks for the comment Patrick.
All the best, Adam
I'm a Scratch Golf Academy member and have been a fan of Adam's Full Swing Master Series for years. Over the last few months I slipped into some bad mechanics with my driver, i.e., pull hooking the ball. I couldn't figure it out until I saw this video and realized my head wasn't staying behind the ball. INSTANT FIX!!!! Now hitting strait arrows again with the driver. Thank You Eric and Adam. Great instruction.
Thanks very much Mike
Two remarkable Golf Instructors! Fairways and Greens my friends!🏌️♂️
Thanks Rich!
Change changing mind sets!
Thanks for watching the video
Best, Adam
Two of the best golf teachers. I have learned so much watching these two.
Thanks very much Mark. Best, Adam
From 8:30, there was a eureka moment for me and apparently Eric. This is precious: swing down, away from the ball and then whip it up with the body
Thanks Stuart, glad you found it helpful.
All the best, Adam
Two world class instructors. Great to see you guys come together to combine your ideas.
Thanks very much Allan
All the best, Adam
So cool to see you guys together! Like Einstein and Gandhi getting together to collaborate. Haha I’ll let you guys decide who represents who!
Josh,
Those guys are rather out of our league, thanks though!
Best, Adam
I've linked my grandson to this video. The notion of shallowing out the club head and less effort more club speed is so critical. Great lesson here, and a thousand thanx!
Thanks for the comment Bill.
Best, Adam
I swing driver at average 100mph but struggle to go over 240 yards. Working on club path and hitting more up then down thanks for the videos
Hope you make good progress
You described in simplistic way. Anyone can understand. I was struggling because I restarted golf after 20 years of gap. I m 60s old. I was 4 handicap in good old days. I have huge issue with driver. Even today I know, was missing something but this lesson will give me positive result. As old golf, out of touch I forgot some basic things which you reminded me. Thanks.
Thanks for the comment Shahid, and hope you make good progress.
Best, Adam
9.01 - nod of appreciation
Thanks for watching the video.
All the best, Adam
Love these two instructors, Adam you’re full of wisdom!!
Thanks very much
5 stars on this one >>>>with Eric!!
Thanks very much JD.
All the best, Adam
Your method of explaining what you teach is by far the best out there, easily. My swing is now heavily influenced by Sam Goulden’s method (thanks for doing a video with him in the past!), but I always watch your videos to better understand the overall swing and what I might not be doing quite right. Really insightful presentation of the information.
Thanks for the kind comment Jae.
All the best, Adam
Every bit of this is Money.. The Effort is in the Discipline. The Ball is not going anywhere . (until you strike it) The Buckle Rotating toward the wall as your head stays back is an acquired taste, but so worth it. The Left hand is effort-ing to stay as far away as the right Humerus is chasing the Buckle. This lays the Shaft down in order to hit up on the ball. Nice teamwork guys. Stay Safe my friends. Dave
Dave,
Always nice to hear from you. Stay well, and thanks for the texts today also.
Best, Adam
Great post Adam and Eric , I am working on fixing the slice off the tee now- this will be one to remember.
Thanks, and hope you make good progress
Best, Adam
Adam, Eric grate video thanks
Thanks!
If it’s true that to be good at anything we need to give it our 100%, it becomes pretty obvious that Adam has done exactly that. 🌟
Thanks Paul, I suppose consistent effort is certainly a part of improving at anything.
All the best, Adam
Awesome video! I've been crushing my driver deep and STRAIGHT!!! Thanks guys
Glad to hear it Blake.

Eric's mind blown at the 9 min mark! :-)
Eric's a nice fellow to spend time around. Thanks for the comment Dan.
All the best, Adam
Eric helps a lot of people with that 45* inside-out drill
Thanks for watching the video.
All the best, Adam
Henry Cotton would say "hit past the chin". Good video.
Thanks, I’m a fan of Mr Cotton. I grew up in England where the premiere ball (in the 1970’s) was the Dunlop 65, a tribute to a 65 Cotton shot to win an event
Brilliant demonstration of an important tip!!
Sailesh,
Thanks for the comment.
All the best, Adam
Very clearly explained and demonstrated. Quite a wakeup for me on where I should be physically in the down swing. Thank you for the insight.
Thanks for the comment Steve.
All the best, Adam
tried this today worked a treat. Thanks guys.
Glad to hear it Ian.
All the best, Adam
Thank you Gentlemen. Excellent video.

Thanks Edward, glad you found it helpful.
All the best, Adam
Good instructions here must try on the range tomorrow hopefully
Thanks Antonakis, hope you make good progress.
All the best, Adam
Adam, this video helped me shoot the lowest round of my life this week. I was struggling with my driver and everything felt off, couldn’t keep it in play. I focused on feeling like the club was behind me and I was hitting farther and straighter than I have all season. I’m a 10 handicap and was playing like a scratch golfer. Shot 74 at a course where I’ve never broken 80
Great playing Anthony! Thanks for the note.
Best, Adam
That's great! Have you been able to keep that up in the month since? Have you been able to engrain the swing change? Thanks.
all your lessons are great; this one is special ! thanks a lot from Switzerland, Ticino County, Lugano.
Thanks very much!
Best, Adam
Magic.
Glad you liked the video Neil.
All the best, Adam
@@Scratchgolfacademy Thank you Adam. Well since watching I have been out today and played 9 holes, could not believe how good using this swing has made me. I even hit 2 driver shots from fairway, fantastic outcome. After seven holes one of my playing pals said you are swinging differently it looks so leisurely, so I explained! for the next 2 holes, particularly his drives he became converted. they say you can't teach an old dog new tricks, well he is 80 years of age . So you should have another subscriber. Oh by the way I played 4 shots better than my handicap so very big thank you. Neil.
thanks for the positive update Neil!
All the best, Adam
Concise, comprehensive and usable. Preparing and organising my practice properly is important and this is very useful. Thanks.
Thanks for the comment John.
Best, Adam
This is perfect. I was looking for a lesson in why my distance comes and goes. Keeping my head back a bit is something i have not been doing. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks Felipe, glad you found the video helpful.
All the best, Adam
I wish I had discovered your channel sooner!
Great content as always.
Thanks very much Cenz.
All the best, Adam
Love the "tag team" approach! Will try the others!
Thanks Jim!
Best, Adam
This may be the best video on how to hit a driver that I have ever seen (and I have watched a lot of videos)!
Thanks very much Jerry.
Best, Adam
Fantastic instruction.
Thanks very much!
Two of the instructors who turned my swing around. While Golfsidekick helped with shot and course management.
Thanks Dave, glad you are making progress.

Great Team Adam and Eric. I've enjoyed your individual videos as well. Excellent Content.
Thanks very much Robert.

Amazingly thorough. Great instruction.
Thanks very much Jeff.

thanks for this, my driving is all over the place.
Hope you make good progress Steve.

Over 12 years trying to play golf and countless $s spent on useless lessons..... this here is the most simple and easy to understand lesson of all times. You guys are awesome teachers. THANK YOU.
Thanks for the comment Musik.
All the best, Adam
Great video guys, thanks.
Thanks Paul, glad you liked it.
All the best, Adam
These videos are awesome! I have learned more here than in taking many lessons. So excited to practice!
Thanks Claudia, glad you are making progress.
All the best, Adam
Great stuff.
Keep the hands far away from the ball as possible is a great swing thought. Thanks
Finally figured that out last year. It feels unnatural for sure. But fight through it. Keep a real loose grip too.
Thanks Mark.
All the best, Adam
Good lesson. Thank you.
Thanks Paul.
Best, Adam
Impressive content.... last 4 videos I've watched all have the slotting aspect in common. Coming from inside to maximize distance. Excellent description....
Thanks, glad you like the videos.
Best, Adam
So good. The thought/feel starting at 8:45 is so helpful. I’ve been struggling with pull hooks and working on that feel has been a game changer.
Glad to hear it Russ.
All the best, Adam
Great to see two elite Coaches for this most asked and crucial topic! Absolutely huge drill! Thanks.
Zhongkhue,
Thanks for watching the video.
All the best, Adam
As ever wonderful content and instruction but I really, really enjoyed this - great interaction between you both and more enjoyable for that . Thank you again and cannot wait to get out and practice this drill as soon as we are able
Thanks very much Stephen!

THANKS.
Glad you liked the video Terry.

Excellent as always!!
Thanks very much.

Dear Adam, Fantastic and helpful series with Eric C.
Thanks very much Bert.
Best, Adam
Great video guys, really enjoying this collaboration of videos you are doing.
Thanks very much William.
Best, Adam
Excellent……you and Eric good combo. Question…..is there any thought to goin out to second base or more just swinging down the line with that alignment stick? Thanks
Thanks. Second base can be a good image for a golfer swinging out to in, but down the target like from the inside is ideal
Great explanation!!💪🏌️♂️thanks for your time,,!!
Thanks Sabino.
Best, Adam
👏👏 Excellence personified as always Adam, happy Easter.
Thanks very much Carlos.
Happy Easter to you too.
one of the things that helped me hit it far and accurate was to imagine i was going to pass the clubhead over a coin about 2 inches behind the ball in order to hit up and straight, otherwise i would try to hit the ball and pull it since it is close to my left foot, once i got that down and pulled my head back like in your video i've been averaging about 265 and have even hit a few over 300, mind you, the wind affects it a lot, it's not that i am a great driver, but i can swing it properly, and mind you, i am 49 years old
Sounds like great playing Arturo.
All the best, Adam
Very helpful indeed !
Thanks :)
Thanks, glad you liked it.
All the best, Adam
This is awesome - v helpful. Would love similar vids for irons and short game if possible. I’ll check Eric’s YT now too. Thanks Adam and Eric. Sal from Toronto!
Thanks Sal, glad you liked the video.
Best, Adam
So really drop the arms at the downswing. And leaning back isn't bad but you have to keep the weight forward and going forward it's a lean back for vision and to ensure you hit around , behind and up on the ball?
Yes, weight on front foot, but upper body tilted back a enough to hit up.
All the best, Adam
Great lesson, however how does an older guy who is not a natural athlete reconcile or pull together the many considerations of a good and correct golf swing?
Thanks John.
I’d do half speed swings without a ball, try to harmonize thoughts into a motion
Great lesson!! Really helpful for my downswing and head movement issues. One question - why is it that during my practice swings I seem to be able to follow your steps but as soon as that round golf ball is in front of me all of those steps go out the window & I am back to my old habits? Am I a overthinking the swing once the ball is in play? Thank you.
Thanks Robert.
It's a common tendency, I feel it comes from excessive desire for solid contact at full speed. The mind then goes into auto pilot, and produces what it knows.
Hope this helps.
All the best, Adam
I understand keeping the club head far away though in other videos we see examples where on the downswing your hands and the handle are closer to your body, so you can whip around. So when you say keep your hands as far away is that just really the feeling of the club head and your hands can get closer to your body?
Keith,
It's really a general feeling for the start of the downswing. I agree, the hands should get pretty close to the right leg approaching impact.
All the best, Adam
do you advise to keep the head behind the ball with all clubs or only with the driver ?
Stefano,
More with the driver than the irons. Varies a little player to player
Best, Adam
Another great drill, but i'd be afraid to "early extend', if you know what i mean
I agree, it's something to watch out for.
All the best, Adam
Are these tips effective for other clubs (irons and wedges)? If not what shold we know to make difference?
Generally they hold true for all clubs. When there is no tee (non driver) under the ball, play the ball more in the middle, and reduce the spine tilt away from the target at address.
Best, Adsam
Thanks for another great video...I picked up some helpful tips I will try out at the range. One question about capturing my swing on video....do you recommend I shoot the video in Slow-Mo mode on my iphone to better see what I'm doing during the swing or should I video at regular speed to see the motion of the swing movements in real time?
Thanks Robert.
Honestly I'd recommend the free V1 golf app. Easy to use, maximizes frame rate etc.
Best, Adam
Scratch Golf Academy Thanks for the reply Adam. I’ll definitely check out the golf app you mentioned.
As you suggested in the video, I tried to keep the club head as far from the ball as possible in the downswing and while there’s still work to do to get it worked out in my swing, I was hitting a draw today - which I’ve never done with my driver!! Thanks for this tip.
Glad it helped!
Isn't your visualization of hitting the nail on the downswing somewhat like Sergios 'yanking the chain' which many criticized?
John,
I suppose it is. Visual keys are generally so much easier to play with than conscious thoughts about body parts (elbow, hip etc). I'm fine with whatever image people come up with, as long as it helps them swing better.
Best, Adam
Should I start with downswing with the hands or the hips?
Hips Glenn.
Best, Adam
Adam I'm a golfer that tends to get stuck so I've been working on handpath trying to get my hands to work more out. To shallow the driver do I need the feeling of twisting my hands clockwise on the downswing?
I'm afraid it's hard to say without seeing you swing. If you twist the hands it should be subtle, or something else is likely the problem.
Hope this helps.
Best, Adam
you need to type in how to get unstuck in the golf swing, because you don't want your hands to to out. You want your hands to be closer to your body. Just youtube it.
Would this work with irons to. Keeping the hands far away like that?
Mike,
I'd say, generally, it's the same swing.
All the best, Adam
Hi Adam. First fine watching your videos. Coming down with hands and keeping the club far away from the ball in downswing is my biggest problem. I started working on this and finally started hit some nice drives. Does the work with irons? I tried it and was taking big divots and hitting behind the ball.
Thanks Terry. Yes, more or less the same with irons, but you have to engage your body to move the bottom out point past the ball.
All the best, Adam
can you show your swing (or Eric's) in slow motion?
Thanks Gerry.
Can't really change the video at this point, but I'll bear that in mind for the future.
Best, Adam
@@Scratchgolfacademy under the gear in RUclips you can slow speed down to 25%
Club head away as long as possible= if your target is due north, try to hit the ball due EAST.
Thanks for the comment
Best, Adam
👌👌👌
👍👍
Adam and Eric I find that if I consciously turn my head to the right on the downswing, in effect not trying to make contact with the imaginary wall, that my left hip simultaneously turns away to the left clearing the way for the hands to come through. This seems to be opposite to what you are teaching so am I doing something incorrectly?
Bob from Australia
Bob,
Hard to say without seeing you swing I'm afraid. At the 'end of the day' it's still a game of club and ball, so if what you are doing looks reasonably conventional, and if you are delivering the club well, you are likely OK.
Hope this helps.
Best, Adam
Adam, good video however a little to long on advertising your other video's I was seconds from switching to another video.
OK, thanks for the feedback.
All the best, Adam
I already hit it 300 without any instruction. Just grip it and rip it. hhahaa
👍👍
Let's assume you don't have any friends....wait what 😳
Thanks for watching the video Alan
